My son Alex is 19. He has been doing parkour since he was 13 and teaching since he was 16. They have competitions. One event is style, where you basically make your own moves with the equipment available at a gym and are judged on it. This last week he got 5th our of 30 something adult competitors. He had gotten over Covid but we had not, so we couldn't see him. Any way, if you'd like to see, here is a link to his Instagram run: www.instagram.com/reel/CeNL3e_o5Gy/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link(You may or may not like to music, so use sound as you like)

I can't get the video to play. Is anyone else having that issue or is it my system?

Very cool, I expected something to snap or break at any second--that would be hard for me to watch my son doing that!
My cats are parkour experts

So impressive! I’ve always admired the talent and athleticism required for the sport and I love that it’s also an outlet for creative expression. Those who practice it sure have guts!
As a mama, I’d be nervous from time to time, but also thrilled that my child had found a healthy physical activity that they enjoy. Thanks for sharing, you should be so proud!

That's so impressive! They are all very athletic. I'd prefer to watch parkour over gymnastics (don't @ me! ). A friend's son started doing parkour years ago, but unfortunately didn't keep it up.

I can't get the video to play. Is anyone else having that issue or is it my system? I'm on my PC so I had to hit the play arrow several times before it actually played. Very cool! I didn't realize this activity had a name!

Parkour is such an athletic sport. He's really good it at.
I love the way the video was shot/spliced. Really helped to 'see' all the moves.

I tried numerous times from my laptop with no luck so I tried on my phone and was able to see it. That is an interesting - do you call it a sport? Whatever it is called, I can sure see the appeal for your son. He's quite good at it too.

There are always many people taping it all and they all know each other, so he got a few different POVs.

There are two parkour studios in the bay area and 2-3 in the LA area and they each host an event at this time of year and then there a championship, which Alex qualified for. It is very informal. I think there are national competitions.
