I don't even know why they bothered coming, it doesn't look like they've included their own kids in any of it...they are shushing other kids in the window, but they aren't at the window with Archie showing him what's going on. They didn't go to the event after the Thanksgiving service, they didn't attend the races or any other events today and they didn't go to the concert. The story is they were celebrating Lili's birthday privately...yes it must have been very "private" because we saw where all the rest of the family were today and it wasn't at any 1yo's birthday party. They've lobbed bomb after bomb at his family in the media over the last two years...did they really expect they'd be placed front and center during this celebration? Eugenie seems to be the only one who is still willing to maintain a relationship with him. Have you seen any of the videos showing a strange bump on Meghan’s outfits the past few days and wondering if it’s a microphone? I’m sure the Queen’s security is better than that, but the bump in the same place on multiple days did make me wonder. It would have nothing to do with the Queen security. According to the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), recording conversations without consent in the UK is legal provided the recording is done for personal use; this includes telephone conversations. However, problems can arise when such recorded conversations are shared with third parties without the consent of the participants of the conversation. It is an offence to sell recorded conversations to third parties or make such conversations public without the participant’s consent in the conversation. Not much use to her Netflix contract and I can't imagine why she would need it for personal use if she can't use it. Considering her record for taking others to court to protect her privacy then she should know that others have the same protection. For what it's worth I think it was just an ill fitting coat. When she comes out of St Paul's you can see it in videos, where the right to left part of the coat gapes on the upper body as she moves.

It would be a huge insult when they are taught that they honour the role they gave been born into. I doubt if I'll be alive to find out though!

I assume he'll probably have grown in confidence by the time he's 50 or so. and if that time comes, there's a pretty good chance none of us will be around to know whether you are right or wrong anyway.

The one I'm watching has Joanna Lumley commentating - and she's terrible at it! Talking about herself, and telling us what the organizers should have done differently and she just said the emergency services shouldn't have lights and sirens on because it's too loud and will deafen everyone! Then Bill & Ben came on and she said that 'Little weed' wouldn't be there because that would "bring in the element of drugs" She's nuts.

Ugh, so she's not on one of the buses then. The BBC have commentary from Clare Balding, Gyles Brandreth and Lulu who are doing a nice job. Hard to believe Lulu is 73. The whole parade is very British and I mean by that, fun and a bit bonkers!

Clare Balding and Giles Brandreth are good but maybe they aren’t popular in Australia. Joanna Lumley is known world wide.

I think the Beeb have got the presenters just right and for once Gyles Brandreth is not taking over with anecdotes etc.. I'm sorry Joanna Lumley isn't coming across well. I really like her. So lovely to see Kirsty Young over this weekend doing a fabulous job. Nandi Bushell, the 12 year old drummer, has just featured. What an amazing talent she has.

I could probably find the BBC video, but this was the first one that popped up, so I just started watching. It's a long time to sit still for the little royal kids, Louis & Lena are getting quite fidgety. Not much they remember from the last 7 decades...lol. The giant flowers looked lovely. "and these are flamingoes, many people wouldn't know that there were flamingos in the Buckingham Palace gardens for many many years - unfortunately they all got eaten by foxes..."

They've been showing the family all the way through on the one I'm watching...although I think there was just an empty seat so Louie might have been ousted. ETA: nope, he just came back maybe he just had to wee!

It's true though, they were killed by a fox one night and it wasn't that long ago, maybe 4 or 5 years ago? I agree with her not many would know and might question what do flamingoes have to do with the Queen.

at 96 she can't have many public appearances left, so I'm glad this was such a positive one.

Oh I am not arguing that it actually was a microphone, I just thought it was amusing that so many people wouldn’t past her to do that. I agree that she doesn’t understand tailoring and often has ill fitting/unflattering garments when she’s trying to play royal.

Have to check the online feed of the BBC news for the balcony appearance, world cup qualifier match has started on the other side so we have switched over. It's Wales v Ukraine in Cardiff, winner gets a place in the World Cup in Qatar.

That parade was suitably bonkers. It did seem like the commentators were missing some info sheets on who was participating on the BBC. It was shared in our house that it sounded like we were eavesdropping on some mad relatives having a chat at one point. I think I have eaten my body weight in scones and picky bits this weekend. This Brit had a jolly good time with the lovely 4 day weekend.

The balcony appearance made me quite surprisingly emotional. It was clearly an effort for her to do but it wouldn’t have been the same without her at the end of such a memorable weekend. It seemed to me that it meant a lot to her too 😊
