I received an email last weekend with a link to their sale section and the Salt Air stamp sets & dies were on sale. I have wanted these sets since they debuted a few years ago and I’m thrilled to pick them up at a discount. I also see that PTI is still offering monthly releases and products. Is anyone else still buying from them? I was a PTI fanatic for years (between 2010-2015) and have literally hundreds of PTI stamp sets. I have a box of supplies I purchased in December 2014, right before my divorce, that I never used! It’s still sitting unopened in my craft stash.
I haven’t done a ton of cardmaking lately but I’m excited to use these sets!

I am. Love the quality of their stamps and dies. The little $5 sentiment and bird sets are my favorites. I just got some stuff from them , but my friend has them. We order together so we get free shipping and its a easy way to hide my addiction from DH too 🤣😂🤣😂

The birds are beyond adorable. craftymom101, yes, I have and occasionally still buy from them. I'd buy a lot more but I have too much already. I especially loved their "splits," for their simple versatility, but see they only have one stamp/die split set now. The rest are just the dies, which wouldn't make sense without the stamps. I vaguely remember they were retiring them.

I haven't placed an order in a few years and I don't pay much attention to their releases anymore because after Betsy Veldman left, they don't have as much that appeals to me anymore. However, I still love their cardstock, both the colors and the value. When most other companies are charging $7 or $8 for 10 sheets, getting 50 sheets for $11 is a steal.

I do! I love stitching dies and they make them, though not nearly as many designs as they used to. I still love their cardstock. I stocked up big last year so should be good for a long time.

The one designer I miss the most from PTI is Erin Lincoln. She always had the most clever card designs and ideas.
My news stamps have shipped and I can’t wait to receive them! They still have awesome prices on cardstock, too.

I last bought from them in 2019. I was a huge fan of theirs, I bought everything when they first started up - 2007 I think - for the first few years, anyway. I thought they were so innovative - I had only bought from Stampin' Up! until then. I even bought the original ink pads that went moldy. Boy, that was a company full of drama!
I still have a lot of their card stock from a decade ago. I stopped using it when their ink pads went moldy - never got around to replacing the ink. I'll have to use the card stock again, it's very pretty and I do so many cards these days just using die cuts that it doesn't matter if I have matching ink or not.
I'll have to go browse their website, see what's new.

I last bought from PTI a couple of years ago but have a lot of their sets in my stash and PTI card stock was always my go-to brand. Still have a lot of coloured card stock but have moved on to Neenah solar white because it's so much easier (and cheaper) to get here.
I still keep an eye out for PTI releases but have such a large collection of stamps and dies that I need to be careful what I buy. My most recent purchase was from Betsy Veldman at The Greetery and I do think that the current PTI designers are not as talented as they used to be back in the day when Nicole was there.

I just order from them when they had there 30% sell, I don’t buy very often but love their stamps. I would love to find a older greeting stamp that they do not sell anymore if someone was wanting to sell.

I still do, though it has been a while. I found that I got caught in the buying because it was a good deal trap so I try not to look often.

I was a dedicated fan, had all the inks and papers, and tons of stamps. When Betsy Veldman left, and I heard how they weren't paying their designers fairly, it put a bad taste in my mouth, so I rarely order from them anymore.
That Salt Air set is one of my favorites. I've made many a card with it.

I had no idea that there was drama there.
I have a serious thing for birds and I love that the species are so easily recognizable with many of their feathered friends series. I feel certain that there’s a bluebird and a chickadee in there, but I haven’t quite IDed those yet.
Has anyone use the layered die set birds from them? They have a beautiful waxwing and a barred owl, but I’m not sure I’ll like working with layered die cuts — it looks so fiddly in Jennifer McGuire’s videos.
I’m not sure if knowing their cardstock is worth buying helps or hurts, IYKWIM….

Pulled out my two PTI feathered friends today (Screech owl and Carolina wren) to see if I did better with my new Stamparatus! For the most part, yes. The various feather layers were much easier to align with the platform. There were a couple of pieces so small they were sort of top heavy and nearly impossible to get to sit the right way to be grabbed by the lid, so I ended up using a block.
Things that stick out of the basic outline, though, like feet and beaks, I still had serious issues with. I think Altenew does a much better job with layering guides than PTI does.
Then I cut them out with my new Platinum Six and saw exactly how far off I was! Then I realized that there was probably some sort of way to use the dies to help align the stamps. Maybe next time....
Also not really fond of the Altenew set of brown ink cubes I'm using for birds. It was the first of theirs I bought, I think. Might have to try one of PTI's....

Thank you, thank you, thank you, azcrafty! I saw her use that technique for coloring die cuts, but not with layering stamps. I did end up going back and making a second attempt at feet and beaks with the die cut birds; it was better, but not perfect. The templating technique will help quite a bit, though I think the issue of some of the tiny stamps being top heavy will persist. I also die cut some stamped alcohol marker colored outline stamped birds today. I do like coloring. I also do not need ALL THE BIRDS RIGHT NOW. If I yell loud enough, maybe I'll listen. I can take some time to experiment now that I do have all the tools....

Oh no...say it's not so. I just asked for PinkFresh full size pads for my birthday. I have all their cubes and haven't had any issues. What about their inks is not good?

No, I said I was buying Papertrey Ink pads, but I meant I'm planning to try some PinkFresh inks, which were recommended in the dye ink threads. You're fine When I first discovered the PTI Feathered Friends on SSS, I didn't understand that the regular ones were layered die sets (no stamps) while the minis are layered stamps with outline dies. I thought SSS was missing some of the stamps. I ended up looking on the Pink Fresh site for the PTI stamps and then went into a mini-panic thinking they'd all been discontinued or something. I have no idea why; the names aren't all that similar, but it's a mistake I keep making.
