Reaffirms my inability to reach across the aisle while the GOP is in its current state. Our democracy is over if there aren’t real consequences in the very near future. If you can watch what I did this evening without revulsion we don’t have shared values, that's for certain.

I had not realized how many different areas of the Capitol were breached until the video and the explanation from the investigator. The size of the crowd and their brutality are a lot more evident in these videos. I didn't start watching until nearly 9 pm so I missed whatever was said earlier. I'll have to watch that tomorrow.

I keep seeing how the GOP are bleating how the Commission is fake and all that crap. Yet, when they were trying to find out what happened in Benghazi (a FOREIGN country) it was all cool. Our own heart of government was invaded and there is nothing to see?!?!?!

I watched the video later last night and again this morning. The thing that is so appalling to me is we all watched it unfold right before us. We watched it happen on January 6th. Yet, there are those who say that it didn’t happen. They were “peaceful people,” they were “tourists,” etc. It boggles my mind. It goes beyond rational reason. I don’t understand it.
It boggles my mind how people can embrace this. But then we have Hitler and others who, history will say, it was all started with a repeated lie. Just keep repeating the lie. Burn books, change history, and keep on telling the lie. One would think people were smarter than this.

I think what the video did well was that it showed that the Proud Boys/Oath Keepers were on their way to the Capitol with a plan to breach it while Trump et all were still speaking. They had a pre-orchestrated plan to access the building.The day of it was hard to see what was actually happening where and when and understand the timeline of it all. It was chaos, but planned chaos and Trump was in on it from the get to.

trump & company have had 19 months to provide the proof the elections, in not just one state but multiple states were rigged and yet 🦗. And only specific states that would benefit trump were supposedly the ones where this mass voter fraud happened.
Ponder this for a second, if there was voter fraud as big as dumpster don is claiming, by now there would leaks for the simple reason the number of people that would be needed to pull this off. There is always someone who is going to blab.

They severe mental issues. You will never see even one of those trumper peas stand up for the constitution or this country's democracy. They have absolutely no spine and no integrity. My loyalty is to the constitution, not the political personality of the day. You will never hear even one of those peas admit they were conned. They are weak people, too weak to stand up for what is right. If it weren't for those who voted for and are still supporting that con this country wouldn't be in the mess it is right now. They are so intellectually inferior they don't even get that it is not about their conservative views but all about backing a criminal instead of our constitution. I’m reading comments from a San Diego news FB and people are laughing saying it’s fake, lies, one sided and Hollywood movie. Saying it’s boring and a waste of time. They still believe the big lie and nothing is going to change as former is still telling them he won and that these people are all lying. They are not going to change their minds and most won’t watch because they have been told that it’s fake one sided etc. I would bet that if I looked at our local groups or LA news FB it would be the same. I just can’t understand how people believe him and that he cares about anyone but himself and how he can make more money. I was really impressed with Cheney she was so calm and articulate and presented the facts. It seemed pretty clear and was even worse than we feared. |

It's clear that this was not a protest gone sideways, and even if it were, there was NO ACTION taken by the President of the United States to end it.
