That was interesting, watched in several sessions since it was long. Best takeaway - the Ranger labels for ink pads, blending tools, etc., that take ink well. They were out of stock last night so I asked to be notified when back, and this morning they were. Besides the behind the scenes look, I thought he made some good points.

Omg my friend Paul would die and be in heaven here. He loves all this stuff…..creepy dolls, antiques, Disney, shadow boxes, art supplies lol.
It’s amazing and totally overwhelming and claustrophobic and makes me think of tetanus a little but what a feast for the eyes. I love all the art and tactile displays. I definitely appreciate his unique style even if it’s not for me. Very well stocked and organized in a small space. I feel like it would be difficult to find anything since it all kind of blends together.

I enjoyed it! His studio is too dark for me, but everyone is different of course.

It’s funny, I found his studio calming 😳 more than bright rainbow rooms, even though I’m often drawn to bright colors for cards. Maybe because Tim’s is primarily neutrals with small pops of color. It was interesting that it was smaller than you’d think. The closet was wonderful. Watching him go through every category, his studio seemed very well organized. The tour really makes me want to cull out a bunch of riffraff in mine. (I know, people are riffraff, not supplies, but they kind of are.)

I do like darker furniture but I also like some color in there too (not shabby color). Tim has a lot of decorative stuff that makes him happy, but I get a little overwhelmed with all of that extra decor. I think both rooms are awesome though. Any room that works for someone and works well for that person is a great room in my book.

And I wouldn’t choose to have a room like his, just enjoyed the heck out of it and wouldn’t mind visiting if they’d have me, ha. I have a few vintage things scattered about, like a old pencil boxes with multiplication tables, a few vintage glass slides of birds, a fish fossil. But the room is primarily white furniture, some old/some Ikea, and light aqua walls, which I had long before I heard of JM. Oddly enough, i found it calming too. i hate rainbow rooms. too much color stimulation. i prefer by color to be on my projects. i liked how organized it all was. very uniform with the containers and shelves. the size of the room gives me hope that we don't need giant rooms in which to craft. just efficient rooms. i don't know if i could have that much vintage stuff on my walls but his vintage/antique collection is impressive. i like that he said the space is messy when he crafts but he always puts everything back when he's done. i'm that way too. it's hard for me to come back to a cluttered or messy work area.

His room was full of inspiration. I don't necessarily share his style; but I am full of ideas about how to update and organize my room with my favorite things. Kind of like his products, they aren't all for me -- I take the ones that work with my style and use them to fit my aesthetic. I'm not attracted to dark vintage or grungy; but every time I watch his makes, I find things and make them work for me.

Exactly - sometimes a riot of color on my cards or boxes, but not surrounding me. His rule of 24 hours to put anything he brought in or Mario could remove it… 😳 One approach has me reconsidering how I organize certain smaller supplies. I can get too deep into the weeds, micro managing a category, and being thrown when oddball pieces don’t line up like little soldiers. His categories for little stuff were precise, but within them it was loose, and he could enjoy picking through pieces in a little tin, or larger items in a wire basket. That resonated. I think I’d have more fun that way.

I think I’d have more fun that way. i missed the 24-hour rule part of the video. i don't like bags of stuff on my desk so i unpack pretty quickly too. my loose smaller items are stored in my 60-drawer card catalog. they are labeled by category but are loose inside so i could rummage through that category easily. i tend to buy duplicates of stuff so the extra stuff still in packages are neatly stored in drawered carts. i replace stuff in my card catalog as i go. the only thing i don't do are the binders. i've learned that if i don't see it or have quick access to it, i won't use it. i store my stamps on sheets and they are in baskets that i could leaf through. i keep my thin metal dies on magnet sheets in clear envelopes. they are in baskets for easy leafing too.

Does anyone know what clear plastic envelopes Tim used to store his stuff? I think he said he got them on Amazon but there wasn't a link.

He did say that, and that they weren’t as thick as the envelopes Sizzix dies came in. And that they came in different sizes. I thought he or Mario said a link would be added. If not, emailing them might work. I’d like to know too, but meanwhile will search a bit. ETA You’re talking about the ones he first got with snaps but then said don’t get them, and he switched to the ones with the little tab and slot?

I emailed them a just a few minutes ago and already heard back. Mario said they had to remove the link because Amazon sold out and then replaced them with another type of envelope. Jam has a tuck flap (tab) 4x6” and a 6” square, and sell them directly and on Amazon, but so far that’s all that looks promising. Maybe I’ll write back and ask the name of the manufacturer - could be somewhere else. www.jampaper.com/Envelopes/PlasticEnvelopes/PlasticEnvelopeswithTuckFlapClosure

Good find! Guessing that the change is that the original pockets were larger—7x9.4, which is listed in the bulleted description. But the title of the pockets says 5x7. For comparison, 5x7 is a little smaller than standard Avery Elle stamp pockets that many of us buy. So the smaller pockets were possibly substituted for the original ones. I messaged the seller to see what’s up.

Woah, when you said it was long I didn’t realize it was loooooong! But I put it on while crafting the past 2 afternoons and it was pretty interesting, even though it’s not at all my jam. It’s interesting how little is actually built into the room (compared with Keisha Charles’ or Jennifer McGuire’s rooms, for example), how small the spaces actually are (although that closet is a very nice bonus!!!) and how what we see in videos is “smoke and mirrors” - I would never have guessed how tiny his live demo workspace is! Very interesting from an organizing standpoint, the tip from Julie Fei Fan Balzer about inking up the labels is pretty genius, and it’s a fascinating space I’m glad I don’t live in

Is anything? Instead a lot of work goes into displaying vintage items and art. Craft room/gallery.

I just scored 10 gym locker baskets on FB Marketplace! They fit my TH Stampers Anonymous Rubber Stamps perfectly. Best part - They were only $5 each.
I can't wait to start reorganizing my space.

Another little takeaway I had from this video, Tim says at some point that everything is stuck down with putty. That was an a-ha! moment for me, with the little decorative items I have too, so I grabbed this putty stuff my DS sticks posters up with and stuck a bunch of stuff down. That is awesome because I worry about knocking stuff over.
