I made a quilt for my daughter as a housewarming gift. What should I have embroidered on the quilt label?
Thanks in advance!
edited to add: Sorry, I should have been more specific!
1. Should I say “handmade by mom” or “handmade by scrapbookwriter?” 2. I would like to include something about the event. I’m trying to think of some clever way to use “housewarming” or “welcome home” or some reference to her new home. She’s single and buying this brand new home all on her own and I am super proud of her.
Thank you!

Are you looking for something clever? I would just put “made by scrapbookwriter” and the date, and maybe her name, too.

"It's handmade, quilty as charged!"
I'm not sure what you're asking for the quilt label, to be honest. Do you want a clever pun?

On mine, I usually put the name of the quilt/pattern, the date, who made the quilt, and then a small message to the recipient.

My mom puts her name, year, and usually something about her love keeping you warm.

On quilts I've found or inherited I would love to know the year it was made and the name of the maker.

I usually make baby quilts to give away. I usually put the name of the baby, the birth day, the month and year that the quilt was made, and my name. I don't use "Auntie Michelle", I use "Michelle Last Name". I often use an extra block or extra pieces from the quilt and write the baby's name in a scripty decorative way to make it pretty.
Check Pinterest. It's where I get most of my ideas.

I love that you will include a label. Our dear friend did that on a quilt she made DH. It made it even more special to me.
A handmade hug from mom 2022. Welcome home!

“handmade by scrapbookwriter?” I would def put by Mom, unless your daughter calls you scrapbookwriter for fun or something. My kids would have no idea if I said handmade by kmage. They'd be like, whaaaaaaaa??

I would sign it as 'mom' as well but if you want your quilt to be identifiable in the distant future as a family heirloom, you could add "To my beloved [scrapbookwriter's daughter's name] on the joyous occasion of her first home. [year] Love, mom." It ties everything together and basic genealogy knowledge will allow descendants to identify the maker easily.

[year] Love, mom." It ties everything together and basic genealogy knowledge will allow descendants to identify the maker easily. For this reason, quilt historians suggest that you put your full name on the quilt. Records are a lot better now than they were 200 years ago, but it's just as easy to add a name and date. I'd sign it as from Mom, but I'd also add my full name. (Mom would be capitalized in the US as that's the name your kids call you. If you say, "from your mom" that would use a lowercase "m".
