This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it.
2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Nylene

Here it is the first of December and I'm just getting back to the computer since Thanksgiving. Where do the hours go in a day?
Amy, it's so great to see you. Feel free to post your layouts the same old way on the thread. The gallery is nice to have, but you have to hunt for layouts from the Pokey Peas and I haven't figured that out yet. I love your layouts. Your little Anna has such a sweet, tender heart. Beautiful way to document her race. And Will has really grown up. It's amazing how fast they have grown up when we just see photos on and off. Hope things are going well for you. Sounds like you are a busy, busy mama. You are doing a great job. Hang in there. Good luck with your new camera.
Pam, you have been greatly missed. I hope you are getting time with your little Ruby. Alex is such a handful! Boys are sure different from girls! Stop by when you can. We miss seeing your beautiful layouts and photos.
Cindy, glad your teams are doing well. Sounds like your Children's Hosp. tree exhibition is like our Festival of Trees. It's always a huge $ maker and such beautiful trees are auctioned. All proceeds go to Primary Children's Hospital. We haven't been up to SLC to the festival for several years, but I loved going.
Kelly, how are your teams doing?
We had lots of fun with the kids sleeping over for 2 nights. What would I do without them.....but I slept VERY WELL the next night!! LOL!
I hope you all have a bit of time amidst the decorating and celebrating to do some scrapping this month.

Happy December!!! I can't believe Christmas is almost here. Thanks Nylene for our new post here. You do such a good job keeping us going. Waving hi to all you all. Didn't do much over the holiday but watch lots of sports, eat and even made it out to M's on Saturday for the sales. Didn't see anything I really needed or wanted but just nice to walk around and enjoy all the beautiful decorations. I loved the new way the Christmas trees were decorated and might try it on my tree. Pam and Amy- Great to see you both and wishing you a happy holidays! Yes, and you are both missed but glad you are going well. Cindy- Hey, I saw you team made a big qb change yesterday with Johnny Manzel. Did you like that? I thought the other qb was doing ok this season? Also, that Christmas event you went to was a great idea. I love that folks could buy trees already decorated and the money goes to charity. Fantastic idea! Nylene- Glad you got some rest from all that fun with the grandkids. I know they had a ball with you. Oh, and my teams... both football teams lost and my basketball team won one out of two games. But I still had fun watching and cheering along especially those basketball games. I was telling Ron last night I tried out for cheerleading in high school and didn't make it. So at the football games I would sit with my friends and cheer along with the cheerleaders and had fun. I still vaguely remember coming home and my voice would be half gone. Guess, I am still a cheerleader at heart. LOL!

Hi, Kelly! I'm glad you've enjoying watching your teams even if they didn't all do as well as you hoped. I had to chuckle about your being a cheerleader at heart. You are the best cheerleader here on our site!
I spent a short time in my scrap room last night after Cubs. I just posted a layout to the gallery titled Catching Bugs. It was super simple, but fun to do. I've had that photo on my table for ages. I just love the pansies in the photo of Drew.
I need to get some things done so will check back in later. I'm hoping to move things around in the basement so we can get to the Christmas stuff. I need to do some deep dejunking down there!
Sending waves and hugs to everyone!

Waving hi too! It is a rainy day today and I am feeling cozy and warm. I just posted a cute painting I did back in Oct on my blog. Kelly's Blog I think I haven't really made anything since Oct. Wow, my mojo is still gone and hope it comes back soon. I miss it! Nylene- Thanks! I guess I am still a cheerleader at heart. So are you and Cindy too. Oh boy dejuncking doesn't sound fun but I guess necessary. I gotta start pulling our holiday decorations out soon. I still can't believe Christmas is almost here. Zoooooom goes the year!

Kelly, those girls are remarkable. I love the paint that spans the page and makes stripes on their clothes. Your pink hair is perfect for the fun and bright colors in your art. I hope your mojo comes back. You are doing some beautiful stuff, my friend. Love the stamping you did on this too.
Cindy, I hope you are just busy right now. I know it's a busy time for everyone, but I hope you are not sick.
I finished another super simple layout last night. It's a single photo of Angie and her family, taken while they were here last summer. Her little Christopher is now pulling himself up to furniture! I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy all these little growth moments. Thank heavens for FaceTime! I posted the layout in the gallery here. It's titled Happy Times.

Hey all! Hoping you all had a fantastic weekend. Today our city had their Christmas parade. It was so close to us and fairly easy to get to. It was fun to see all the kiddos performing and the parents, and families cheering them on. I didn't get very many pictures but it was colorful. I just love seeing the Mexican dancers with the bright colored dresses that they twirl and swirl in. They had a group of kids that performed and it was all girls and two very unhappy looking little boys. LOL! The boys looked like, " Can't wait for this to be over!" LOL! But over all it was nice and glad we went.
Have you all started your Christmas decorating yet? I may start this upcoming weekend.
Cindy- I watched your Browns today and was pulling for them to win. What a heartbreak to loose at the end. But at least Ohio won and got in the playoffs. Congrats!
Nylene- Thanks for visiting my latest art on my blog. I just love it too. All the colors blending together turned out so pretty. Oh, and my mojo is coming back. Last week I worked on two pictures and plan to do more this week. Yippee! I think I will do another video showing art I have done since Summer. I know you miss your seet dgk in California but I hope you get to see them over the holidays.
Waving hi to you all!

Hi Pokey's! hope all is well...I am so far behind for Christmas I can't believe it and life in general is not helping me a bit. Could not leave the house today as I had a package to sign for and UPS is wild this time of year. Also waited for a phone call from the doctor about my test-still waiting. Hopefully I will be able to go tomorrow.
Kelly-the quarterback controversy continues with the Browns. Left you some hot pink love over on your blog!
Need to go clean up my scrap room-I got things out to make my cards and did not put things away. So that will be my chore for tonight!

Kelly, your Christmas parade sounds like fun. We don't do Christmas parades around here because it is cold and snowy most years. I love the Mexican dancers too. I lived and went to part of my Freshman year at college in Mexico City. We often went to the Ballet Folklorica just to watch their fun showy dances in their colorful costumes. Your comments brought back fond memories! Let us know when you get your next Art Video done.
Cindy, I hope your Christmas mojo gets going and finds mine and sends it here! I haven't put up anything yet. My village boxes are all over the living room, but not unboxed. Oh, well, tomorrow is another day. Hang in there, my friend. We want you to stay healthy.
I have another layout to post in the gallery. It's a photo of Angie's 3 children together. It's a simple layout, but it's one more done. I just downloaded 2 photos I can't wait to scrap. The five grandchildren are sitting on the couch together, each with a big scrapbook album on their laps. They were on both couches, but I made them "scootch" together on one couch so I could get a photo. They spent over an hour looking through the albums of them as babies and young toddlers. That's why I scrapbook! Now I need to send them to Costco for printing.
Not much going on here. My mojo ran away with Cindy's. Hoping it gets back soon.
Sending hugs to all the Pokeys who are busy, busy, busy.

Ye s Nylene I think the mojo's did run off together and if anyone sees them please tell them to go home! Boy I bet they are getting into something!!!
Nylene-you should have the grands come over and set up the village like they did last year. If I remember right you all had a great time! I bet they would do it for hot cocoa and some cookies! Then let them put up the tree too! LOL Isn't it great how they love looking thru the books about them!
Kelly- I sent you an email! Johnny Football is starting Sunday! Wondering how it will turn out! We still need receivers that catch and kickers that can kick! It is not always about the quarterback! Enough about football!

Cindy, I've decided to take your advice. I got all the sheets and tables ready and I'm going to ask Ash and Lys to come set up my village again this year. They has a lot of fun doing it last year. Maybe if I work on getting the things upstairs they'll help with the tree too. That's what you have to do when your children leave home.....invite the grandchildren over and put them to work!
We're off to an Orchestra concert for the High School for one of our grandsons. He plays the cello, and never lets us know ahead of time when he has a concert. Luckily we were free tonight! Silly boy!
See you later.

Nylene I know they will love to help you! I would come too but it is a little too far! LOL Well now you know I am going thru tests etc again and to top it off I got called for jury duty! LOL I have never been called before and I don't mind doing my civic duty but why NOW!!!! It starts the middle of January which hopefully things in my life will have settled down. I am sitting here waiting for the phone to ring again. This is worse then knowing what you are doing. I am going to wear a holter monitor for a month and that begins Tuesday. I have most of my shopping done-still need to find 3 things but I have time-2 weeks I believe! Plus we are dog sitting for 9-5 dog. My friend went to AZ for two weeks so we get the dog. Everything happens at once! Shopping . decorating, baking, doctors I am beginning to fee like Scrooge!

Hey gals! Hope you are all having a nice day. We got some much needed rain today and now I see the sun popping through. I actually am going to be working on some Christmas cards today. I finally got some tape and just need to get a few more sheets of cardstock. So hopefully I can come up with some new ideas. I have been bored with the same ole' designs and want to make something new.
Nylene- How cool that you lived in Mexico for a while. Yeah, so you know exactly what I am describing. Beautiful dancers! And I will share my new video whenever I get it done. (I totally forgot I was going to do it and you reminded me! LOL!) Have fun at your dgs concert.
Cindy- Here comes Johnny! I hope the game comes on out here so I can see it. Go Browns! My 49rds are going down the tubes and I hope they can end the season on a high note but seems like it is so much drama going on so. Sending you some hot tea and wishing you a good evening!

Cindy, I can't believe you have been called for jury duty just as you are starting your tests. I've been called several times, but the only time I was chosen to serve, they settled out of court after the first hour. It was pretty obvious that the guy had NO defense. Another time it looked like I would be seated, when in walked the defendant and he was the best friend and farm manager of the doctor I worked for. He and his family waved to me as the judge sent me out the door. LOL! (he won his case) Good luck to you. I have always wanted to serve, but it seems to always come at the wrong time too.
Kelly, I have been worrying about you with all the storm you have had in your area. Angie said that storm last week really soaked them and people were asked to stay home if they didn't really have to go out. I hope you didn't get any damage. Can't wait to see what you are making. My cards are made, but not in the mail yet.
I took Cindy's advice and had Lyssie and a friend come put up my Christmas village. They did the whole thing and put the boxes away. The next day Ash and Lys came and put up my Christmas tree. It was so nice having them do it. I served them fresh made chicken soup and blueberry muffins. That's pretty cheap labor. They are soooo helpful.
I worked like crazy to get my blinds dusted and things moved away from my windows so I could have them washed today. My 2nd story is too high to reach myself and I won't let Steve up on ladders anymore. After scurrying around and getting ready, the people didn't come. I've called and no one answered. Aargh. I'm hoping they are just 2 hours late, but I'm afraid they didn't get me on the schedule. I even left school early today so I'd be here for them.
I need to get a few things done. Have a great day and I'll chat with you later.

Cindy, I'd love to have you and Bobby both come. Guess what........I can see clearly now!!.....the window man has come and gone. Can't believe what a difference it made. I'm ashamed of how dirty those windows were! And BTW, about the only things I don't mind cooking are 3 soup recipes. I could live on those! LOL!

Hey all! Doing ok today. We had a nice weekend. They are painting a new mural on one of the walls here and it was neat seeing the artist work on it. It looks like it is almost done and hope to get some pictures of it. Very neat! I also started some Christmas cards. Just doing a few this year but it did feel fun after all this time.
Nylene- I'll work for soup and muffins too! LOL! That sounds so yummy on a cold day. Yeah, we had some rain but it was just for a day or so and wasn't that bad down here. Not sure if we are getting anymore soon. Also, glad to hear your windows are all nice and clean.
Cindy- Could you imagine, you, me and Nylene all together? I think we would be eating, talking and laughing more than decorating! LOL! Wishing both of our teams better luck this Sunday.

Well girls we are the three musketeers! We stick together thru thick and thin! I am so grateful for the two of you! This is the only scrappy home I really have right now-it was first and best scrappy home. You two are so special and have been such a gift to me. I can come here and discuss anything with you two. I mean scrap booking, football-btw Kelly yesterday's game was horrible! We can ask for prayers and yet joke around with one another. This Pokey Peas is just very special to me! Now picturing the three of us trying to decorate ...yep Kelly your right we would be laughing and talking too much to get it done! But that's ok! I am so thankful for you both!

Good luck to all your teams this weekend, girls!

We have been with each other through all types of ups and downs and it means so much to me too. Should we all cry happy tears right NOW? Wishing you both a warm and cozy and restful night! Hugs!

I just helped Em with the Christmas party at the Elem. School. She's the room mother and works so hard to have fun activities and games for the 5th graders. My "station" was card making (surprise, surprise). Each one made a cute snowman card, but the highlight was that they each got to use the cuttlebug to emboss the background for the card. No one had ever used one and they were amazed. I forget that what's "old hat" to scrappers, is all new and exciting to kids. LOL! They were wondering where they could get one of those cool machines. It was actually really fun.
Waving hello. Have a nice weekend if I don't get back on until Monday!

Good evening Peas! Hope everyone has had a great weekend! I know I have. Last night Kellie had the family over for my birthday dinner and to celebrate Christmas with her as she is going to PA for the big day! She made my favs- meatloaf, sweet potatoes and cherry pie! I am not a big cake person. My Browns lost again today Kelly and "Johnny Football" was injured and did not finish the first half-hamstring. He is not quite as good and mobile as he was in college. I should be wrapping gifts but I'm not in the mood. I will have the kids the next 3 days so Maggie and I will be baking cookies-she is such a big help. She could probably do them on her own I can't believe she has been baking for at least 8 years with me. Still wearing the monitor and go for more blood work Tuesday. Only on one blood thinner now though. That is a good thing. Well going to get off of here and do something even if it is wrong. Have a good night!

Cindy, belated Happy Birthday! I'm sorry we missed it. How nice of Kellie to cook for you. How's the "monitor wearing" going. Sorry that you are having to be saddled with that right now. I hope they get good readings and have some easy answers for you. We're off to walk the mall and pick up groceries for the big day. I dread being out on the roads today as it is snowing heavily. We will have a white Christmas after all it looks like.
Have a Very Merry Christmas, everyone. Hope you have friends and family around to make it bright.

Happy Monday! I actually got some Christmas cards made yesterday and it felt so good to be working on them. Ron needed some for his coworkers and glad to be able to pull them together for him. I didn't get to take pictures of them but I know they will enjoy them. His boss said she wants to frame hers! So got a few more to make this week and I plan to scrap too. I will share the next batch. Cindy- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YA!!!!!!! I am so happy your dd fixed a special dinner for you. It sounded so yummy! So enjoy all the extra love from your birthday and Christmas. Now if the Browns could play better that will be an extra gift to you. My team let me down too and now it looks like our coach is leaving. Oh boy! Nylene- Those school kids did have a super time! So now on to Christmas. What will you be cooking? No cooking for me this year. We hope to go out to one of our favorite places to eat. So that should be fun. Waving hi to all you Peas and wishing you a beautiful day!

Nylene it has been a good day! Maggie and I baked cookies-which we are going to do again tomorrow. Funny story Bobby went home tonight and took Becky's softened butter and mixed it with blueberries from the freezer to make Blueberry butter. He saw Pioneer Woman making a berry butter for french toast and no recipe just mixed it up for his toast in the morning! LOl Oh boy my grandkids are a hoot!
Kelly I cooked Christmas dinner for all the years and now that Becky has children we eat there on Christmas! I am taking some apple pie and a brownie tart!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! Oh Nylene yes still wired up! Will be until mid-january! Only on one blood thinner now and get checked again tomorrow for the coumadin level. BBL
