I'll take "unexpected scrapbook collections" for 100, Alex. Italian manufacturer Stamperia is releasing a Bauhaus-themed collection. I did not see this coming at all. Colour me surprised. And yes, I want it, I need it even if it's cream-based (it fits the era). It's so very unusual I thought it deserved its own thread for extra visibility. Availble in the US for pre-order from ACOT (Europeans should be able to find this brand easily). Bauhaus:

I love it when unique lines come out. I really like that third paper. As someone who struggles to be very creative, I would have a hard time using most of it though.

That is fabulous. I just stuck a Bauhaus themed jigsaw puzzle in my Amazon basket a few hours ago. Is there a Bauhaus revival on its way?

Wow, yeah, Bauhaus would be one of the last things I'd expect a scrapbook manufacturer to create a line around, but I love that they're doing something different! It's not to my personal taste, but hopefully it's successful for them and leads to more manufacturers branching out!

OMG I love this! As an Interior Designer, very rarely do I find lines that I can use that reflects eras I have studied in school.

I'm so glad we're getting some proper diversification in the industry. Are you going to be reflecting on your school years/design knowledge with this line? It's rare to see scrapbookers dip into the knowledge part of their student years so I'd be super interested in seeing what you come up with.

Design school was a where I met so many of my friends and was one of the first things I ever really did 'for me'. I was a divorced single mom + had two boys under the age of 4 when I started and by the time I finished, I was married. Anyway, I haven't documented this time in my life except for a trip to Chicago to see Frank Lloyd Wright's work so its definitely not something I have tons to look through about it in my books.

I love Stamperia. It is challenging to work with on traditional pages but I love it. I'm always hesitant to cut into it because it is so gorgeous.
I'm definitely getting this. The colors are so pretty. I love the Klee diecut. It is so cool to see artists represented.
I think this is the company that made the Gustave Klimt line? I have a bunch of that, too.

Oh, wonderful! I can’t believe they have Josef Albers in there a la Homage to the Square! I have a reprint—a huge book—of the color experiments he did with his students when at Yale. Are there any buildings in the papers? I’d buy them, not that I tend to use patterned paper for cards.

This is amazing - so very different! I don't know how I'd use it - and I'm an architect- but I love it! TFS!

Love Stamperia. This one is cool, though not my style.
I had to have most/all the Savana line released earlier this year because I spent some time in Kenya last summer. Their papers are beautiful! And the mixed media elements are neat as well.

mom sleepingbooty you are spot on when you observe how rare it is to see such cultural movements referenced. We discussed travel lines here recently and this Bauhaus collection is so much better suited for my trip to Weimar than anything "travel themed", just as a FLW collection would fit quite a few of our US trips. We are FLW fans too and are checking the landmarks off whenever we can, so I'd be glad of something along those lines - or an Art Nouveau for Paris instead of the same old Tour Eiffel and all of that. And artbabe wouldn't a Klimt set be perfect for Vienna? Mucha for Prague? Whilst I wouldn't necessarily use a whole collection - I also find using patterned papers tricky - I love the stencils in that Bauhaus set and am now going to open my mind beyond looking at "travel themes" when I search for bits and pieces to journal my adventures. If only I'd known about Savana a couple of years ago... ;-) I suspect Stamperia is going to be high on my list. Thank you all for sharing! sleepingbooty thanks for the good wishes too - we're going specifically for the premiere of an opera, so it will be exciting, especially since the last time I was in the city the Bauhaus museum was closed for renovation.

And artbabe wouldn't a Klimt set be perfect for Vienna? Mucha for Prague? Gaudí for super popular Barcelona. Van Gogh for Provence. And so on. Seriously, there is so much more to vacationing than the same ol', same ol'. I agree that this is such an innovative but also quite straightforward approach to broadening the travel offer. Hoping to see more in the future! This Bauhaus line is very playful and I'm super excited to play around with it.

When I see Bauhaus my mind immediately goes to The Hunger and Bela Legosi.
It is a very cool line though. I would love to see a FLW line next.

Now this line isn't for me, but I can totally appreciate the colors and the fact that it is something that is different. It will make gorgeous pages!
