Is there a line of papercrafting supplies that you liked MUCH better in person? Or the opposite, when you got to actually look, you were like, "meh"...
I just saw Live and Let Grow by Jen Hadfield/American Crafts in person today and I liked it so much better in than online. It is slightly muted, has some periwinkle, but I liked the icons a lot more IRL and the colors were understated but really nice. I picked up more than I thought I would of that line.
My JA also had some Shimelle Glitter Girl 6x6 pads and I flipped through thinking I would probably get one. I hadn't seen them in person before, I think they are quite a bit older. To my surprise, not my style at all, but hey, that's ok and just one of the cool things about shopping in person.
Any lines or supplies surprise you?

Yeah, I picked up the Vicki Boutin Color Study pack from Peachy Cheap last month and I just don't love it. I thought I would. Normally big fan of VB, but this line and the papers in the 6x8 pad plus the diecuts just don't do it for me. I feel like I'm going to have a harder time using this line that I thought I would.

Oh my gosh, I love that line. Maybe being an art teacher I have more use for the art supply diecuts and the color wheels? And I love the fact it is bright and distressed. I always end up liking Carta Bella better in person. The texture of the paper is just fantastic. A lot of times I judge a paper by its texture and thickness and that is impossible to see online.

Without a LSS (or a local JoAnn store that is a designer destination), I rarely see new papercrafting products in person. Plus, I've not been tempted to buy much from the new releases in the last couple years. I miss LSSs (including Memories & Archivers locations), the in-person supply shopping experience (ie perusing entire walls bursting with a rainbow of Bazzill cardstock, aisles filled with multiple racks of patterned papers, pegs full of embellishments & tools, etc.), & the plethora & diversity of companies, styles, & creativity in the industry during its heyday.

Same with me and Storyteller. I had seen so many beautiful layouts made with it so I bought some. Made one layout. The grungy, artsy look just isn't for me.

I have made some of my favorite pages with this line. It is so pretty. Vicki Boutin is just my jam, although I think her newest and her coming Christmas line are not as good as past releases.

I usually like Simple Stories collection better online as they look brighter and whiter on the internet. That said, Weathered Garden exceeded my expectations, probably because I expected the collection to be off-white already.

In general, I like Paige Evans collections better in person. I’m the opposite. I really struggle with her collections. I’m not sure why… but the combination of colors & motifs make it difficult for me to use.

So true! It IS so pretty. Just more difficult for me to work with compared to a more bright, clean collection. Felicity Jane and Pinkfresh are my jam. I am happy with the one layout I made with Storyteller, though, and I love the ones other scrappers have made with it. In general, I like Paige Evans collections better in person. I’m the opposite. I really struggle with her collections. I’m not sure why… but the combination of colors & motifs make it difficult for me to use. Same. I think it's because everything in every collection is bold and loud. At least to me. Even the B sides. I tend to use bold papers and supplies sparingly or with something a little more muted so her collections are too much for me. But, like with Vicki Boutin collections, I like what others do with her stuff. They're always bright and happy. Maybe just a little too bright and happy for me.

Agree with you! I was going to mention Pinkfresh. I’ve never seen any of it in person until I got some of it in one of those kits and I can’t believe how much I loved it! I have been missing out! Lol!

Lol! Same!! PF was never really on my radar, and then I saw some of in on a live (Nathalie? Maybe?) and was like wow!! I need that in my scrappy life. It's amazing, AND the "Cool" line got the thumbs up from my teen. Wish I could find more of it.

I’m not sure why… but the combination of colors & motifs make it difficult for me to use. She makes the cutest layouts with her lines, but I find I struggle with the papers. She really spends so much time on a layout though that she could make any line look good. She's a lot like Allison Davis.

Simple Stories Vintage Coastal, Vintage Weathered Garden, and Vintage Great Escape
And now in looking up one of these names, I found the new SS Vintage Lakeside that I probably have to have too.
