And obviously this isn’t something feasible but if it were physically possible I am so lazy I would like someone to come pick up my hair off my head, cut it and style for me and bring it back. I would pay good money for that service once a month. I hate the entire Process of getting my haircut. Scheduling the appointment, driving downtown, parking downtown, having to walk several blocks to get my haircut, having my haircut and sitting there for 45 minutes when I could be doing fun things. Hahaha I love this. I do have a stylist who comes to my home (that’s just her business model - I don’t need an in-home stylist) but I get the idea of not wanting to sit. I feel this way when I get my nails done. I appreciate how lucky I am … but if someone could just sit there and get my nails done for me, I’d pay extra. 😂

I put books on hold that are on the shelf at my local branch. It's 50/50 lazy and anxiety they will get checked out before I can get there. I LOVE putting on holds at the library. I put anything that pops into my head on hold because I know I'll forget before we get there for our weekly visit or it'll be gone. We've even expanded our holding abilities because my DD got her library card this year.

First I should mention -- I enjoy being outdoors -- and I love working in my yard. I know a lot of people don't feel this way. That having been said, there are two things that come to mind: 1) Paying someone a lot of money to mow their grass and then going on a walk to get exercise. I use a pushmower to mow my yard -- I save a couple hundred $$$ a month and get lots of exercise. 2) All the freaking golf carts driving around our neighborhood. I walk to visit people. For free. To me, that is really lazy. Walking is a much gentler exercise than mowing the lawn. My mom has rheumatoid arthritis— gentle exercise is important and she tries to walk everyday. She feels better if she does. Mowing the lawn is just too much for her —pushing something o even riding on the lawnmower causes additional pain that a walk on even smooth sidewalks doesn’t. She pays to have the lawn mowed

When I see people complaining about working 5 days a week, I think they are lazy. That would be amazing~ It probably sounds crazy but with mental illness working 5 days a week is so taxing that sometimes I cannot even focus to read or watch a movie after working. Please know I only intended it as a "fluff" comment. We farm/ranch - so work is every day, no matter what, but it's not the same thing everyday. It can be monotonous at times, very stressful at times, but it can also be fun. We can 'stop and smell the roses' - quite literally. We moved cows to new grass yesterday, and it was so beautiful seeing them cross a full stream (but not raging) into new, beautiful tall grass. Rains have been favorable so far this spring. An old rose bush was blooming at an old farmhouse site. We sat there for a bit and enjoyed the roses and beautiful weather.

This is really just a fluff question I've been thinking about due to this thread ... But, what is "lazy"? Why does the word get a bad reputation? Some of the examples I see here are priority choices, some choices are due to physical limitations, etc. Also, if you are a procrastinator, are you lazy? If I rather watch Netflix instead of cleaning the kitchen, is that being lazy? If I don't put my cart in the corral, is that lazy or inconsiderate?

I almost kind of hate threads like this because who can say how we choose to spend our time and what is 'lazy.'
I have a sister that goes goes goes all the time and won't slow down, whereas I don't feel a bit guilty about streaming a series on the weekend. I like to go as well but I also need my downtime.
Are there things I do that are lazy? Probably but I'm not going to lose sleep over them!

It really is interesting because in quite a few other developed countries, people get all kinds of paid time off work that most Americans don’t ever get to enjoy. Look at the countries that have a year or maybe even more of paid maternity leave, or where workers get 4-6 full weeks of annual vacation on top of whatever sick time they’re allotted. Or places where everything shuts down in the afternoon for lunch, siesta, etc. So are Americans really being “lazy” on our off time when on average we put in more work hours annually than so many other countries? The US ranks 7th in the world for the most hours worked, behind Mexico, South Korea, Greece, Chile, Russia and Turkey. I guess when viewed under that lens, people should get a pass if they really don’t want to spend what little free time they have driving to Starbucks and waiting in line (even in a drive through) to get their fancy coffee fix. It may be that one little thing is their splurge after a grueling work week. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh, I've got one. He only fell for it once. We were sitting down to watch a movie so I put dh's phone in the kitchen on the counter while he wasn't looking. When I started feeling snacky I reached down and discreetly called him and then gave him a crazy look and said "you'd better grab that, who would be calling at this hour?" When he answered I asked if he would bring me cereal and iced water.

I almost kind of hate threads like this because who can say how we choose to spend our time and what is 'lazy.' I posted a thread a while back about how you spend your time. I put forth a bunch of questions that were swirling about my head and one of them had to do with judging others on how they spend their time. Overwhelmingly, people said they didn't. But there were many who shared that they were themselves judged by others. I thought that was interesting and not exactly in keeping with my idea that people, do in fact, have opinions on how they spend their time and how others do too. I admitted in yet another thread back about a year ago, that I had been asked to do a scrapbook project for someone and I declined because I only scrap for me. I did offer to the person that they could come to my house and I would teach them what they needed to know to get going on the project for themselves. They declined due to not having enough time. I was quite irritated because this particular person is always posting about what she's binge-watching on TV. I admit when someone makes a comment like that to me and I know they are spending significant amounts of time in front of the TV, I do think, put down the remote and start a hobby. (Me, judging her) I also felt like this person was judging that my free time was much less valuable than hers and hence, I would do a project for her that she could be doing herself. So, I think, if we are honest with ourselves, we do judge by our own standards of what we deem acceptable for ourselves. What I liked about this thread here was that some people posted why the term lazy might be a misnomer for someone else based on their different life experiences. Sometimes we only see things through our own eyes and when we have another perspective pointed out to us, we can then broaden our horizons. But to say we don't judge? Yes, I think it's knee jerk. I think that some of us need it pointed out and some of us can stop on our own and pause to reflect. I think that's the key. It would be nice if some followed up on their posts on this thread after reading some responses.

If I wake up before my alarm goes off, instead of turning my head to see what time it says on my clock, I just ask Alexa LOL Yep. Same. And instead of hitting snooze, I just have Alexa set a timer. I do that too.

As much as I'm lazy, I'm even more cheap. I can't bring myself to order delivery if the delivery charge is equal or greater to the cost of the item in question. So I refuse to have Starbucks delivered. I don't begrudge anyone else who does it though.

I'm sipping Boba that I had door dashed, mostly because I can. Also because I'm lazy I guess. I have no desire to go down 4 flights of stairs, drive across town, wait for an order, drive home, and then look for parking again when there is someone excited for the opportunity to earn some cash while bringing it to me. I call it working smarter than harder, the money I wouldn't have made doing all that is much more than I paid for delivery. If you haven't tried the frozen boba from Costco yet, you must! Brown sugar boba in packets; heat up in the microwave and add to your drink. I put it in unsweetened iced tea and it's perfect.
