That is way over-priced.
I bought mine on sale at M's, for $5.99.

It’s that creative memories branding on top. That’d be worth at LEAST $10 for the sticker 😉

Lignin is found in wood. So I don't think the absence of wood in plastic is a selling point.
The whole thing is dumb. I have probably 20 of those boxes. I've never paid more than $6 for one. Tuesday Morning always has them (even now) and they are cheap.

Well, clearly if you don't buy their extra special box, (along with the adhesive, album, pages, paper, etc...) your albums will fall apart in 1-2 years. That's what I was told in 1998 by a CM rep who made me put my eyelets away... It's funny how better product would have been more convincing to me than scare tactics. That said, I do love their album cover sets. I never understood why other companies could not make beautiful album covers like CM.

Our polypropylene box is acid-free and lignin-free... (PP is an archival safe material no matter what.)

No worries about acid/lignen free if it's polypropylene. The cheap ones at the big box stores are made of the same material, so $22 for the exact same box is crazy, IMO. I usually get these for less than $5 on sale. It's like paying $17 (or more) just for the CM logo.

I think our Michael's had them on sale this week for $4.99. Plus they had coral and mint colors! But alas, no sticker.

I remember on the old board someone posted about their CM representative telling them that their non CM embellishments would emit gassed that would destroy their scrapbooks. Maybe all your iris boxes are just gassing your poor papers right now! I got that email too and I couldn’t believe it, I read the description several times to be sure I wasn’t missing anything. That is some serious BH level of delusion right there.

Totally agree and they are years behind what we've been using once again!

looks just like the box I bought the other day for 4.99 - polypropylene is polypropylene and I don't see the point of paying so much extra for basically the same thing

That price point and the claims about it suggest they are counting on their customers’ ignorance of non-CM products.

Typical MLM 🙄
Slap your logo on an existing product, triple the price and convince people they are doing it wrong if they don't use this specific product.

I can't like this from any company. I am frugal and will shop around to find a good quality product at the best price. I will shop sales.
I think some MLM companies bank on customer loyalty and budget-unconscious type of consumerism! My Dad (who frustrated me terribly) personified this type of consumer: he only wanted EASE of purchase - he would find a convenient store and buy the first/best quality item that caught his eye no matter what the price.

I think it is one of their Black Friday sales. After that, I could never pay more than $4 for one. CM is an MLM. They have to make their money some way. ETA: Our local second hand craft store always has CM storage stuff on sale for a couple of bucks. Some of their rolling totes and tall rolling paper stackers go for about $15.

Our polypropylene box is acid-free and lignin-free... (PP is an archival safe material no matter what.) I was going to say... ?!?! Sigh. Now if they had that box but sold it with the cool little tray that you used to be able to get for Iris boxes, something like this: which has been "currently unavailable" for years now, that might be a selling point. I don't use Iris boxes anymore because my space is just too small, but when I did I really wanted to be able to sort and store all the bits and bobs in the case along with the paper. Still ridiculously overpriced and I don't support MLMs if I can possibly help it, but at least have a point of difference that isn't just a brand sticker.

Yikes. I can cut those words out in vinyl and get the same look on a regular old iris case.

Easy for me to know which Iris 12x12 paper container is which.

Well. I’m definitely not interested in these boxes but this thread reminded me to look for a photo sort box. I have the old, old versions and I love them both. This new version seems to be a medium size between the two I have. I might have to pick one up.

But would it be official lignin free CM vinyl??? For only $50 a roll??? Otherwise there is no guarantee your scrapbooks will survive the next zombie apocalypse. 😇
