I was talking to a sales rep with B&H and he told me to always be humble with yourself. Don't portray yourself to be better than you are. (I was telling him I'm brand new to the industry and would love to do wedding work some day). Let's have some fun, how would you rate your skills as a photographer on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being the best. I'm easy... I'm a 1

I think I have a decent eye for taking a normal picture, but am in no way a good photographer. I have taken a few classes, and would say a 4. When you consider that a ten would be... nowhere near close to that.

I bet that 5 points from 10 because I am not attentive to details like catching completely the people's legs,...

I've been into photography for years, and recently gave my youngest (27) my old Canon and 300mm lens. He's been coveting it for years and I updated my camera and lenses. Within two weeks, he knew more about that camera than I did. He also has a great spot on a reservoir with an abundance of birds, a good eye, and also learned Lightroom. His pictures were awesome.

950nancy No, the bag is still sitting on the kitchen table. Get out there and just try it. My Rebel was really quite easy to use. If you put it on manual (I think it's the green setting on the top) and the lens on autofocus, all of the work is done for you. You don't have to do much other than adjust the lens to the length you want and when you push down the shutter half way, the camera and lens will focus for you.

I just did a photo shoot for my son and DIL and her family. It was outdoors and was supposed to be at 5pm. DIdn't start until 6:15 and the sun was gone for about an hour. Thankfully my camera is great in low light and the pictures look like they are okay. I have learned a lot about the camera, but I have so much to learn.
