I am ‘Agnes’, this was my name on the old board and user name I’ve been using here for years. Way back in the beginning of this board, I originally signed up as ‘margaretzf’, but shortly afterwards changed it to ‘Agnes’. Then there was another Agnes that changed her name to ‘AgnesDeux’. I recently posted a reply on a thread asking about yoga pants, and another responder tagged me as ‘agnesDeux’. When I clicked on the tag for AgnesDeux, it took me to her, then when I clicked on her profile, it took me to me, ‘Agnes’. So it appears we are linked somehow, even though we are different people. Can you unlink us from each other?

You changed your display name to agnes, not your actual username. I see margaretzf showing when I hover over your name in the discussion, same when I go to your profile. By changing your display name, you've linked yourself to the 2PR member who actually has agnes as their username. To change your username, you will need to delete your current profile and create a new one. Since agnes is already in use by someone else, you will need to come up with a different username otherwise people will keep trying to mention you by typing @ agnes. agnesdeux is the display name for the username agnes, by the way. You can check her profile. I assume she wanted to avoid possible confusion with your display name by adding the deux (literally two) mention but cannot be sure. Whatever the case, you can't be username agnes as it's taken. Your best bet to get tagged properly is to revert your display name to your actual username. ProBoards does not allow change of username. It's a fixed identity upon creation of profile as far as I'm aware. You can read more about ProBoards' display name policy here.

sleepingbooty is correct - I run into similar tagging issues because my display name (Linda) isn't the same as my user name (homeschoolmum) - to tag me correctly one has to type @ homeschoolmum (without the space) but often people will type @ linda and it tags a different pea Our profiles aren't linked (and yours aren't either) but she often gets tagged (and I'm sure is confused by that) because my display name matches her user name
