Just wondering if I am the only one that doesn't like the little white border around printed die cut pieces. I usually try to cut it off, but I've noticed on most You Tube videos of scrapbook pages that others leave the border. Would it be too much trouble for manufacturers to actually cut the pieces out without a border? Or do you not mind the white border?

I prefer no border.
I think it looks distracting and jumbled when a cluster is made with overlapping diecuts with borders. It’s jarring and never looks natural.

I prefer them without a border, too.

meh - I don't really have a preference -I'm not especially good at using die cuts though and I'm abysmal at making clusters

Oh, you're definitely not the only one! I hate the white border around pre-made die cuts. I prefer to cut my own embellishments with my Silhouette so I don't buy very many pre-made die cuts to begin with. I try to avoid those with borders when I do. The border is also present on a lot of Print-and-Cut Silhouette designs - I don't use very many of those either.
That said, I mostly just try and avoid things with the border as opposed to cutting it off. I can't recall ever doing that - instead I just try to use it in a place where it isn't so prominent.

I don't like them either. If it bothers me I fussy cut them , but sometimes I'm ok with the borders. I'm a card maker and really bothers me that my stamped and die cut images have that border too , especially if my background is dark.

I hate the border around diecuts but I also hate fussy cutting. I have a stamp and die from Concord & 9th that cuts the image without a border. I wish all dies did that. I use my scan n cut as much as possible to avoid the border and the added expensive of buying dies.

Sole voice in this thread so far in favour of the white borders. I love them on die-cuts. They let the image pop off from the rest happening on the page.
The thing is, you can cut the white border off but you can't magically add one on. I understand it's an annoyance and exercise in fussy-cutting for those who don't want it but there is no easy solution the other way around.

For the most part, I don't mind except I don't like die cuts with a white border when the collection is off-white/cream based.

I find it depends on the layout. Sometimes they work as-is and other times I cut the borders off.

For the most part, I don’t like the white border. It’s the same with stamps and matching dies - I see so many cute stamps made into scenes (think LF), and they look lovely, so much time invested in the card, but the white boarder around the stamped image bothers me, and doesn’t make the scene look right or sit right

I find it depends on the layout. Sometimes they work as-is and other times I cut the borders off. This is me. I don't really have strong opinions one way or the other most times but I also scrap on white cardstock a lot so the white borders aren't especially noticeable on my pages anyway. If the border is excessively large or just doesn't look right on the page then I'll cut it off.

I mostly like the white border, but it's often too big, so I cut it down. Like others, if I am using cream based papers, the border is cut off completely.

It depends on whether the white border is a distraction, based on my layout’s color scheme. I’m not fond of fussy cutting, but I’ll do it if it bothers me. I don’t use the pre-made die cuts often, though.

I don't mind the borders on precut ephemera. I don't tend to use more than one of that type of diecut in a cluster, and if it is the top piece, the border helps to identify that it is the star. Sometimes I follow Shimelle's lead and actually ink it!
I actually LIKE that my dies cut a border around a stamp. It gives a bit of wiggle room if the die doesn't cut quite true or turns a bit when being rolled into the machine. But those pieces are usually the feature element. If I were going to make that diecut into a cluster, I could use the die alone on different pp or cs without the stamp so there would be no borders on the tucked in pieces.

I do not like borders. Whether I use them with a border or fussy cut them off depends on the layout and the die cut. Some of them have really thin things like flower stems where you can't really cut them out. I suppose I could just cut the individual leaves out and draw the stem but that takes more work than I usually want to do. Borders bother me less if I'm using white cardstock as the base.

That's exactly who I was thinking of! It's so frustrating the phrase dies are BRIGHT WHITE and everything else has a grunge/distress feel.

No white border. Can we say it loud enough. We went through this 20 or so years ago. Complained about it so they stopped printing with borders. Am I remembering correctly? And now they are back. I cut mine off as I don’t mind fussy cutting. Sometimes I leave a small white border. Depends on what it is and where it’s going.

Now that you mention it, this was a problem with stickers a whole back. Now it’s the die cuts.
