Can anyone suggest an opaque white ink I can purchase that works well on dark paper?

Hero Arts Unicorn is tried and true. It also depends on the paper - how porous or not. Double stamping can really help, if you have a stamping platform or alternatively an inexpensive positioner.
ETA Oh wait—if you mean an ink to write with I have one but it’s been so long since I used it I’d have to go find it to remember the name.
They are Sakura Gelly Roll Classic or Uniball Signo Gel White. I’ll help you find them if that’s what you want, since there are quite a few similar ones.

Great question. A good white ink is to be treasured! I've just gone through all my inks (purging & organizing streak - what was I thinking?) and found a huge amount of them had dried out (mostly all the old Colorbox chalk cat-eyes). However I found 2 whites that are very good. 1. ColorBox Frost White - pigment ink. But I'm pretty sure ColorBox is no longer in business. 2. Versa Magic Cloud White - chalk ink HTH

Hero Arts "unicorn" pigment ink is pretty opaque. I grabbed a wood block stamp to test it just now and the fine line words are readable. If you were using a platform and stamping twice they would show up whiter. Or if you used clear detail embossing powder.

BTW, Unicorn is pigment, so needs a bit of time to dry. Don’t do what I do—move your hand across it when wet.
Hero Arts carries it in regular and cube pads. They bundle the cube in several versions—two different bundles with black and/or grays or with a winter set with blues. Lots of shops carry the regular pad.

Jennifer McGuire uses Hero Arts Unicorn White and Inkon3 Atelier Shark Tooth ink in her videos.

Check out Brillance in Moonlight White, a fast-drying & opaque pigment ink available in both a full sized pad & dew drop. Personally, I no longer keep a white ink pad (since I use it infrequently). Instead, I stamp with either Versamark (clear) or VersaFine Clair (in the same/similar color as the paper) & heat emboss with white Ranger Super Fine Detail EP (& re-emboss for a more saturated white &/or smoother finish, if desired). HTH.

Another vote for the Hero Arts Unicorn ink. I used it on this layout on the two black tabs to stamp the "I ate this" and 'super tasty", if you click on it you can zoom in on flickr.

I use Hero Arts unicorn. I like to use it instead of embossing ink if I’m going to use white embossing powder. It results in a brighter white embossed sentiment.

Thanks for showing it in action! No problem, sometimes it's just nice to see how something really looks instead of the glossy marketing shots.
