Dh did ours last week. I'm sure your neighbor was glad for the help!

I would highly recommend a maintenance service. I have my people come out 2 times a year to maintain all the equipment. So easy, and I don't have to worry about it.

Had no idea this needed to be done! I learn so much from the Peas! Adding this to the seasonal chore list. Thank you!

Well mine is locked in a closet for which I do not have a key. They change "A" filter every six months. Not sure whether AC or heat...

I didn’t know this, but did learn about it last Friday. I had the roof replaced in October and they put a nail through the line set that runs to the upstairs unit. My AC guy fixed it and then cleaned the coils on both units. He showed me how to do it.

The AIR CONDITIONING unit is outside and this is what needs to be hosed off at least once per year.
This neighbors coils are behind vented panels. Our AC coils are exposed so we can easily hose them off.

Just buy the cheapest filters, no need for expensive or fancy filters - they are actually harder on your unit. Just get the right size and change it once a month!

Nope, nothing outside. Everything is locked in a large closet inside my apartment. Yesterday they opened it and looked for mold??..??..??

We have never cleaned it. I didn’t know it was even a thing until someone mentioned it yesterday and now this thread. Maybe that is a sign that we need to clean ours.
