Jolee's - I have used them Hinges - nope brads - I used to use them a lot. I still have a ton but I either forget about them or I'm too lazy. eyelets - I did a looooong time ago. I think I got rid of them. I have no idea where my setter is. Ribbons - Yes, I love them. Paint chips - No. I never felt right taking them. I've seen some really neat stuff done with them, though. Paper Piecing - Very little Beads - I used to have beads with words on them I used for a few layouts. Buttons - I love buttons. I've used a lot. Shakers - Nope. Rub ons - Yes, and I like the effect. The problem is that some of my old ones don't work anymore. Torn paper - Back in the day I used it for everything. Now I forget about it, but I do like how it looks. Paperkins - never Shaped scissors - I used them to make an edge on a tag or border but never on photos, thank goodness. Other trends: wire- I had some premade embellishments that used wire. Prima flowers- Yep, used them a lot. I still pull them out sometimes. Flare - loved them but so many got rusty. Fibers - Yes, back in the beginning. Wood veneer - I use it constantly. I have a huge stash. Shaped cardstock/pp - Oh my gosh, I forgot about that. I do have some- time to dig it out. Foam stamps by MM and messy stamping with acrylic paint - I did this on a few layouts. I never used the Making Memories paint that dried out. I just used the cheap acrylics bottles you can get for $1-$2. Magic Mesh - Nope. I thought it was funny that it was just drywall tape. Mulberry Paper - I did use this- I just didn't make tear bears.Acrylic - Yes! I love it. Bakers Twine - I love it. I use it often. Machine stitching on layouts - I would if I had a machine. I lent mine to my sister and never got it back. I do plan on buying one. Hand stitching - I did this a lot. I love the way it looks. Canvas and Burlap - I used a ton of it and still do. I love texture on pages. Serendipity Squares - Yes! I forgot about those. I do like the way they look. This is fun. Anyone remember other trends we can add? I totally forgot about mulberry paper! Oh man I loved that stuff. Especially the pinks and purples.

Oh and don't forget the small sewing machines that came out. I got one for like $30 but it never worked right and I did not do well with hand stitching. I remmeber the plastic cards you could get to poke holes before you stitched.

The Making Memories metal, I still have TONS of it. Our Big Lots used to get a lot of the Making Memories stuff and sell it for deep discounts. My girlfriends and I would spend our Friday nights driving to all the Big Lots in OC. 😂 It was a blast.

Brads Yes Eyelets Yes Paper piercing Yes Shakers For cards, not for scrapbooks Ribbon Yes, once or twice Rub-ons I have some but I can't remember whether I used any in my scrapbooks Paint chips - I had gotten some but never used them Torn paper with inked edges Yes Beads Not in my scrapbooks Buttons Yes, but not a lot Shaped scissors Yes Wire Not in my scrapbooks Prima flowers Yes, and I still have some Flare No Fibres Yes, but on tags that I used in handmade mini books Wood veneer No, but I have some that I like to use on Memorydex cards Shaped cardstock/pp EPHEMERA Yes Foam stamps by MM Yes, I used some number foam stamps with ink but only used them a couple of times Calendar pages No Stamping Yes Heat embossing Only for cards Paint Not in my scrapbooks, although I did have some of the MM paint that dried out quicker than you could use it Triangle corners Yes Metal embellishments Yes, but not in my scrapbooks Dies Yes, I do A LOT of die cutting for various crafting projects
I don't scrapbook as much as I used to. I am now more into making handmade journals and greeting cards, and using a lot of my scrapbooking supplies for that. I've also gotten into Memorydex cards and belong to a FB group where we swap our handmade Memorydex cards. I also make mini scrapbooks to give away as gifts.

I will start with these and then go back to see if I missed anything. Jolee's -I have used them throughout when I see one that fits my theme Hinges - Metal hinges? Only in a mini book once. Used open hinges on a page from time to time to represent old woodwork. Tape hinges to add an extra flap on a page? I have used those. Not as much any more, but I might. I cut a slit in the page protector and slipped the extra flap through. brads - yes and still use. I like them especially for vellum or acetate so there is no glue showing. BIG brads? I still own some, but have not used them much. eyelets - Yes. Use them less now than I used to, but I still like them for certain effects (see ribbon), or on the ends of tags. Ribbons - I own a ton and don't use them much except for knots on tags, or occasionally bows on cards. Sometimes thread them through a pair of eyelets to form a border. (or cut notches in the edge of my cs, use those to anchor my ribbon and tie the ribbon off behind the page. Paint chips - I am not sure if I ever felt the need to use them to follow a trend. I found a few last week while housecleaning, and put them with my scrappy supplies b/c I could see where they might be fun to use. Paper Piecing - I have fun playing with creating different scenes with papers. Beads - I used a few times, but too bulky for pages or cards. Better on wall art. Buttons - yes but not often and not in a while Shakers - Yes, on cards. Still working on a way to make my own that work well and are not too bulky to mail. Rub ons - If there is no other way to create an effect. Most scrapbook rubons did not work very well. I DID use some Letroset (?) brand from a stationary store and they worked better for title letters. Torn paper - My signature dish. But I had to be TAUGHT to have the courage to tear paper. I then got a "rippin' ruler" to make sure my edges were straight. Had to chuckle when I saw Shimelle being so careful when she tore an edge. Guess we all have our comfort zones. Paperkins - Never bought them. For one of the first scrapbooks I ever made, I designed and fussy cut out several paper dolls with joints that could be positioned, then dressed them in different outfits for my dd's album. There was one for skating, one for swimming, one played volleyball... Shaped scissors - Had to have the whole set. Still have it in a little carousel way up high on my shelf. Only ever used a few and haven't used any for years. wire - Another thing I had to have the equipment for. Still have the little rack with the pegs to wrap the coloured wire around. I have created some title words and some decorations with wire, but now I use it mostly to unclog Nuvo drops and glue. Prima flowers - Love them, but only use for special pages like wedding or graduation. Flare -could never figure out how to used them. Fibres and twine- I use them more than ribbon, but not as often as I could--or as you might think if you saw the size of my collection of them! Wood veneer - Love them. Go through spurts of using them. I like them plain, stained or painted. Shaped cardstock/pp - Don't buy it any more, but still have a few sheets. And I like the effect of a big circle behind a page or split between two. Foam stamps I tried these, but was not happy with the results. The only one I use now is my sunshine stamp b/c I like the messiness of the way the paint splatters around it.
Magic Mesh: PLEASE bring it back! Love it. Used it. Would again in a flash. Love how it adds texture without alot of bulk.
This was fun!

Did you ever use those Bazzill "just the edge" border strips?
What about the scanner strip from Sasafras Lass?
And did you ever HAND emboss with a stylus? I used to get TWO of the brass stencils so I could use one to guide the stylus and the other to give the cs somewhere to go when I pushed it.
I see there are a few more on the list...
Calendar pages yes Stamping Yes Heat embossing Yes Paint yes Triangle corners Used a few, but I like them better as parts of an arrow or chevron Metal embellishments Yes Dies Yes Mulberry Paper Bought it. Loved it. Used it up. Wanted more... Acrylic Yes Bakers Twine YES Machine stitching on layouts Oh no. Even bought the little sewing machine thinking that would make it happen. It didn't. Hand stitching Very seldom Canvas and Burlap Love it. Used it. Still do if I can get my hands on it. Serendipity Squares I DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE ARE Bottle Caps NO Bingo Cards Only if they have a word relevant to my story Staples - yes Clips -yes vellum - yes

Serendipity Squares I DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE ARE you take a sheet of cardstock and glue scraps of torn paper/cardstock randomly all over it, add stamping, heat embossing, etc... then cut into 1" squares to use as embellishments. They were actually quite pretty if you used similar or coordinating colours. Often the squares were matted - you could add an eyelet or some fibre...

I knew I should have replied when I first saw this thread and the list was a lot shorter Jolee's - I think I've been gifted a couple of packs so I've used those, but I've never bought any for myself Hinges - yes, and I think I still have one set left in my stash brads - yes, and I still use them. I actually prefer the self adhesive "brads" by SS, but have bought proper brads reasonably recently from them too. eyelets - I never had a massive stash of these thankfully because I still have most of them. Ribbons - yes, and still use them very occasionally Paint chips - no Paper Piecing - I think I did it once? Beads - I used the tiny micro beads a handful of times as flower centres for those tiny prima milk bottle flowers. Buttons - yes but now I hate them Shakers - I've done a couple but don't really have the patience for them Rub ons - Yes and still use them often, I love them when they work well. I most recently bought some from the Spectrum Sherbet line. Torn paper - yes and still do it Paperkins - no, completely missed this trend and am not mad about that at all Shaped scissors - yes and I still use the two sizes of scallops I own. I also have pinked ones but virtually never pull them out. wire- I had a couple of packs of the pre-made words (which I know included dream and cherish), but never got into making my own Prima flowers- yes and still do on occasion but once I use up my stash I doubt I'll replace them Flair - yes although like everyone else I've had to toss all the rusty ones. I have some brands that have held up well though so I'm happy to keep using them Fibers - Yes, I still have a tiny stash of them which I really should just toss since I am quite clearly never going to use them. Wood veneer - yes, I should pull this back out, I love adding wood veneer hearts and stars in my clusters. Shaped cardstock/pp - yes, I loved the MM ones back in the day and just scored a heap of them in a destash haul I picked up a couple of weeks ago so I have a whole new to me stash to play with! Foam stamps by MM and messy stamping with acrylic paint - I only had one set, the scrolls/flourishes, which are still in my stash. I have another brand of alpha in foam which I also really like even though I never use any of them. Magic Mesh - no Mulberry Paper - yes but only ever one or two sheets. This was probably the first product that I can remember layering liberally to use it up. Acrylic - yes Bakers Twine - yes and I still use, although I usually prefer the plain twine for my tags. Machine stitching on layouts - yes I love the look of this. If I had somewhere to leave my machine out I think I'd do it much more often. Hand stitching - did it once but it's really not my thing Canvas and Burlap - no Serendipity Squares - no, I never really understood the appeal on these Calendar pages - no Stamping - yes, I love it and do it often Heat embossing - yes although I don't do it nearly as often as I should Paint - yes. I remember Shimelle used paint to "ink" the edges of her papers on a layout and I love how it looked so that's how I typically use paint these days. In the earlier days I used it paint raw chipboard or to make my own ink splatters Triangle corners - yes Metal embellishments - yes. I still have a few and added some into the iris container on my desk of things I would like to put onto layouts just last week Dies - yes Bingo cards - yes Bottle caps - yes, and I still have a handful of blank bottle caps in my stash Staples - yes Clips - yes, I really hated the old shaped clips (remember those spirals?) but I love the FJ tiny paper clips and heart and star shaped clips. vellum - yes, I still use this, mostly for layering Another one to add to the list - who used photo turns? I loved them and still have some old black 7Gypsies ones and some antique coloured MM ones.

Chinagirl828, yes - photo turns! I think I still have some of those, maybe they came from Queen & Co. along with matching brads.
Also, those little plastic slide frames. I bought a bunch of those (so many fun colors) and I think I used maybe 2 or 3. Just couldn't get them to look right on my pages.

I see we have added some more:
Vellum- Definitely. I love it. Staples - I love staples, too. My tiny attacher is one of the few tools I invested in. Paper Clips - Yep. I've used a lot of those- shaped and regular Photo Turns - Yes, but not in about 15 years. I still have some though. Another thing I have to drag out. Bazzill border strips - I loved them. I need to dig those out, too.
And I'll add: Doilies - I love, love, love them. They are perfect for embellishment clusters. I have them in many sizes and colors.
