For only $999.99 you can own the Making Memories Tool Kit! I mean...it must have special powers at that price. It even comes with detailed scratches. I wanted to make sure I remembered the m logo correctly so I searched Making Memories scrapbook items and this came up as option 1. (see identify the album post). I about died of laughter. Here is a link to the listing: Making Memories $1000

And right underneath that pops up the same exact thing for 14.00
Why would the person list it for that price? Don't you have to pay when you list, or only when you sell?

What in the world? Why would that be listed for $1,000? I sincerely hope no one pays that much for it.

That is what makes it more funny. I see that with exclusive QK dies still too - the ones from Archivers and what not. People still trying to fetch $100-200 for a die.

I thought for a minute they had forgotten the decimal and meant $10.00, but look at the shipping!

I bought mine a few years back for $1 at a yard sale.
I think on Ebay - you pay a fee to put the listing up (as well as the fee when you sell) so if you sell the same item frequently - it's cheaper to keep the listings up and just increase the price to a point where no one will buy when you're out of stock and then reduce it back to your normal selling point once you get more in.

Well, I still have some Making Memories paper, can I list those at $100 a sheet?

That. Or someone is thinking about getting it and he agreed to price it too high to sell for a certain amount of time as a courtesy. I had someone offer me that once when I asked a couple questions about an item. But more likely what linda said.

I never bought one then and definitely no desire to buy that one now!

I was sure I had that set. Nope. It is the Darice set that looks just like it with a few different colors. Sad I am missing out on a 1k selling possibility

I still have this set and use the eyelet setters and hammer occasionally for punching holes. I wonder if I should add this item to my homeowners insurance...

i didn't know i was sitting on a gold mine! lol. either people are crazy or truly uninformed
ETA: i use the hammer all the time and the eyelet setter a lot too. i've tried all kinds of eyelet setters and this basic one is the easiest to use with consistent results.

I had to laugh at those listings, they're just so random.
But then...I started getting serial killer vibes. 😱

So weird & funny! Maybe the person who bought it chose the handy PayPal option of $42 for 24 months.

I thought for a minute they had forgotten the decimal and meant $10.00, but look at the shipping! I do think they messed up the decimal. The $10 shipping seems reasonable to me-I've that set and with the metal case and hammer it is heavy.
