The New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to The Hill on Sunday that Giuliani was slapped in the “mid-back” at a ShopRite while on the campaign trail for his son Andrew Giuliani’s gubernatorial campaign. “All of a sudden, I feel this, ‘Bam!’ on my back,” Giuliani told the New York Post, adding that he nearly fell down from the blow. “All of a sudden, I hear this guy say, ‘You’re a f—— scumbag,’ then he moves away so nobody can grab him,” he added. Watching the video I thought it was a fan giving him a pat on the back. I didn’t realize he was “assaulted” so hard he “thought he’d been shot”.

Feel how you want to feel about Giuliani but he is 78 years old and not too stable on his feet. It was forceful contact that put him off balance and you can see that in the video. Watch the people around him react - this wasn't friendly, it was a threatening situation. I agree that no one should ever put their hands on another person and you can see by the way the person next to him rubs his back that it could have been harder than it looks, but he barely moved and I am thinking Rudy will take this for all it is worth and more. Now trying to imagine Rudy going through 24 hours of hard labor having a baby he never wanted and then having a $10,000 delivery bill on top of it. I guess things only matter to Rudy when they happen to Rudy. |
