For anyone who has been following... Today, she had a colonoscopy and and an endoscopy. They told her they removed several polyps from her colon. They are going to biopsy them and, it will take about a week to get the results back.
I will try not to freak out, but I'm going to be honest...growths in the colon of a 24 year old sounds kind of ominous.
UPDATE 7/8 She got her results back but hasn't yet met with her GI doctor. They removed 5 polyps. She said two of them were what they called clusters, and those were precancerous. I'll post more once she has met with the doctor. She just read the results through her patient portal and that's what it said.

A polyp can be just a polyp, even in a young person. Hang on in there. Hoping she gets good results.

Try and not worry! (I know, I know. Thats hard!)
I will be thinking of your daughter and can't wait to hear that the report was a bunch of nothing to worry about!

sending good juju- all will be well. Better to find them at 24- she might just be super sensitive.

I'm glad they are doing all the tests. I hope they are just polyps.

Hang in there. My mom has had polyps regularly removed since she was 30 years old. She's 82 now, and never had any progress to cancer.

Anything that happens to our kids is terrifying. But I know many people who have polyps on their colon and get them removed regularly. I hope they find her issues.

Thanks everyone! I really am trying not to worry. She doesn't seem unhealthy at all, it hasn't really affected her eating or appetite, so I hope it is nothing. I mean something is going on to cause the pain she has been having, but I am hopeful that she has IBS and not something more serious. The doctor did tell her the only real way to diagnose IBS is by ruling out everything else.

Wow, I don’t blame you for worrying. But there are so many reasons it can be nothing serious. So try not to go crazy while you wait to hear.
I wish her all the “nothing serious” in the world and an easy fix.

I just went to my GI today for another update and got a date for an endoscopy (schatzki ring & hiatal hernia for over a decade now). The GI is ruling things out also (ER trip in April with intense stomach pain--they said it was colitis, but it was a temporary issue). It takes so much time to rule things out. I hope that your DD's polyps are nothing and that they figure out her stomach issues asap. I can imagine how you feel. Hugs!!

I'm thinking of you and your daughter. Sounds like she might need more frequent colonoscopies which sucks, but I'm glad they caught it in the pre stage.

if it's anything like what they found with DH, it will mean yearly screenings but that's about it. Honestly it's a good thing they found them early and got them removed. It may mean yearly colonoscopies for her but she's very lucky it's in the pre-stage

Sounds like all is good now, but she will probably be watched carefully for many years to make sure all is OK.
