Who is planning to make Christmas cards in July? Do you have a plan? Papers you want to use up? How about recycling old Christmas cards?
Im planning to do everything above. July in Phoenix is super hot and humid so I will probably stay in and work on Christmas cards, last year I skipped the Christmas card exchange because I run out of time ,but if I have my act together I would love to do it this year again. Its just so much fun to get happy mail almost everyday and display it.
My plan... *Revisiting all the SLoC from this year and some of my favorite ones from years before (make all the cards 'bases', then decorate them) *use up at least 1 or 2 paper pads and maybe declutter my Christmas stash, papers, stamps and dies...nope maybe not dies, I'm addicted to them 😆 *recycle old cards so they are ready to be shipped off, I'm donating them *hope to make 200-300 cards, little to ambitious?!? Definitely, but we'll see.
What are your plans?

My craft room is upstairs and it just gets too hot in the summer, so I am going to relocate it to the basement over the next few weeks. I never get to do Christmas in July, but maybe next year.

Already started my Christmas cards. I’ve still got a large stash leftover from last year so I’m only doing about 20. My goal is to have them done by the end of the month then work on some fall/thanksgiving cards.

I’ve still got a large stash leftover from last year so I’m only doing about 20. This is my situation, too. I got very few mailed out last year - that happens sometimes. I'd like to get mine all really finished (including envelopes addressed), then after Thanksgiving I can see whether I have time to put newsy notes in each one or whether I'm just gonna sign & send. If I can finish those, I will continue on making wintry (but not Christmas-specific) cards that I can use for thank-yous, hellos, or even winter birthdays. I do like the idea of making up some fall-themed cards though... Hmmm...

I am planning on working on some for donations this month. I hope to make maybe a dozen or two each month until whenever I need to send them out.
Will probably hold off starting on cards for the card exchange here, and friends and family until September or so.

I've made a start already but I'm not going to get as much crafty time as I would like. We are repainting the exterior of our house and I'm helping as much as I can. It's a big project, we only have a couple of months of dry weather to get it done, and we had a really wet spring so we didn't get started until late. When I do get time I also want to work on a photobook project. But my plans are similar - to prep a bunch of card bases, upcycle old cards into donation cards, and work through some Sheetloads or other simple sketches. I have about five 6x6 pads to use with sketches and most of them have cut-aparts so they should be pretty fast. I'll save the more technique-heavy designs until later in the year. I'd love to see everyone's cards if you want to share on this thread

Do you use sketches for your cards? Yes I do. I use the SLoC aka SheetLoad of cards sketches. I post them every month on this board.

Every single year I decide I'm going to do Christmas cards early. I want to try a bunch of different designs, use the stamps and papers that I haven't used yet. Every single year I don't get around to it.
My husband just told me that he wants me to do the card swap again this year - I did it 2 years ago but not last year - because he really, really enjoyed receiving the cards in the mail and seeing everyone's designs. I guess I better get started.

Do you use sketches for your cards? I use them mostly for cards that I donate, but I also make a lot of cards with big Doodlebug die cuts that I don’t use sketches for, and if I stamp or stencil I do my own thing. As well as Sheetload, which I like because it makes a set of cards quickly, I use some of the sketches Kristie Marcotte shares. Lately Jess Crafts on YT has been sharing no scrap cutting guides too. Here are her 12x12s: jesscrafts.com/resources/12x12/

Christmas cards are my favorite cards to make! I pulled my Christmas stash out this morning to start planning my cards. I have more supplies than I can possibly use but somehow my stash grew since last Christmas!

This is so exiting. I hope everyone who makes cards will share a picture of them. Love to get new ideas . Here the first set I made with this month's SheetLoad sketch

Ok I pulled out my Christmas stash. I have so much stuff. (That is one stuffed Iris container. That's alot for me!!) I may have to do a DD just to use up some of this stuff.
*Found my Christmas stamps. I have less than I thought, but I have a variety of sentiments. *Sorted out all the paper and stickers that looked good to make cards with. *Sorted into colors. Group one: traditional reds, greens. Group Two: pink, light blues, pale greens. I have both 12 x 12 papers and 6x6 paper sizes.
Now contemplating how I want to begin. The goal is to make 22 cards, and use up my stash.
