I am happy. Sale was great; I just sold stuff in big lots... my objective was to come home empty handed, and I achieved that aim. I had prayed about it this morning on the way there. Asked that I go home with everything sold. So to achieve that, I guess God softened my heart to the idea of making a lot of money. The thing of it is, I bet I made the same as people who had to pack up 2/3s of their stuff & re-store it until the next sale. So am at peace with making about 10% of what I spent on it all ($120ish. All I spent was $10, which was my float.

grammadee - sorry about all your tech issues. Yay for a clean space (at least for a little bit). refugeepea - ((((Hugs)))) I'm sorry that the reunion was hard. Fingers crossed that the wheelchair/stroller comes home this week - I'm sure that'll make your life easier - at least a little. Happy Birthday to your DD and Best wishes to your niece and her fiance cycworker - yay! well done and you definitely had the right outlook on the sale. DH and DD got home just before midnight last night - another super long drive (they left at 10am and it's usually about a 10 or so hr drive)...they ran into heavy rain that slowed progress and got a warning light which they had to call Hertz about and there was traffic.

cycworker - glad you achieved your goal. I agree: I think people get fixated on making their money back, and then get nothing. I see it on Facebook marketplace - friends trying to sell their kid's hand-me-downs for prices that are higher than you'd pay at Old Navy. But you got *something* which is better than my laziness: I'm a "get it out of my house send it to the thrift store" person. I'm on vacation Monday, Tuesday - tons of chores and local plans Wed-Sat - a 4 day kayaking/hiking/caving adventure in Quebec (with home-base comfort, we're staying with family in Ottawa) Sun-Fri - tent camping on Lake Huron Sat-Sun - I'm back to work, but DH gets to continue the fun with a big family/party weekend. Our best friends' parents renovated a beautiful old church into a house. It is STUNNING. and HUGE. When they go away, they let us gather there and play. Mainly a "game" weekend, all the Dads and teenage/young adult kids go, sometimes one of the spouses. But it's a debauchery of junk food and when the wives go, we fuss too much over health and hygiene

Good job, cycworker ! That would be MY goal at a garage sale--get rid of the stuff! kitbop , that sounds like a wonderful couple of weeks coming up. Enjoy the outdoors, spend a bit of time with family. Take lots of photos. And enjoy!
I just came in from the garden. A couple of hours with a hoe. But it was in the sunshine with a bit of a breeze to make it a comfortable temperature.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are having a nice day and had a good weekend. Not much over the weekend. We were chilling around the house on Saturday and Sunday church. I got my HS "Sun Chasers" pad today and I will be playing with paper this week. kitbop- What a fun time you and your family will have! So happy for you! I haven't been camping in like forever. It would be nice to get to the mountains here in So Cal. joyfulnana- Congrats on your mom and son doing well. Oh, you got a new Cricut. How cool! I need to get a new one. Mine is really old and I don't even use it. grammadee- How frustrating! These tech issues are a headache at time. justjac- Waving hi and sending you a smile! nylene- Waving hi to you, too!

kitbop, your page turned out so great! I loved being in on the telling of the story. Your DD is such a cute ham! Your vacation plans sound nice. I hope you get some relaxation along with adventure. It will be a good break from everything else you have had going on. joyfulnana, congrats on the new Cricut Joy. I hope they can transfer all your cartridges so they are usable. I'm sure you will have a great time with them. I am so glad to hear that you have good news on two fronts, your mom and your DS. I know I always feel better when all my family members are doing well. I'm sure you are feeling relief that your mom's mind is clear and that your DS is doing well and is well liked in his apartment. cycworker, congrats on coming home with $ only and not a lot of stuff. I would prefer a smaller return and not taking it back home. The only garage sales we have around here are those that you set up as a family. It's a huge job and I don't have the energy to do it anymore. I have done a lot of donating lately. gramma and grammadee, I hope we haven't messed things up with Google so we can't get the Online crop to work anymore. I was just leaving for Church so couldn't help much. I'm sorry it became so frustrating, grammadee. I enjoy them so much, I don't want them to stop. Keep that mess going...you are making amazing pages. I love your MEss is ME! I put vinyl on my Silhouette that says Creativity is Messy and I am Very Creative. refugeepea, I am so sorry that the Family Reunion was difficult. Is your son more nervous around a group of people? I hope he can get his wheelchair from Shriners. I know he was outgrowing the stroller/chair you had when we got together. I also hope he gets some nutrition help so that he can gain weight. How fun that your DD shares a b-day with her grandfather and a cousin. That's very considerate of your sister to have a special cake for her at the wedding. Please tell her Happy Birthday from me. I hope she had a great Disney trip! Linda, what kinds of books are on your summer reading list? Are they classics or more modern books? That's cool that your kids are reading the same group of books. I'm glad your DH and DD got home safely, even though it was another long trip. Did they have a good visit? I'm sure you are glad to have them home. kellyr21, I hope you enjoy your new paper this week. I look forward to seeing what you create. I need to quit and get something done. Have a great week, everyone.

grammadee - I don't know where you find the energy for all the gardening you do. kellyr21 - looking forward to seeing what you create with the Sun Chasers pad nylene - the reading challenge is an eclectic mix - everything from classics (War and Peace, Paradise Lost) to Young Adult fiction to Dr Seuss to graphic novels, memoirs, poetry, essays..and yes, some modern fiction. 25 books in total and I'm about 1/2 way through - it started in January and runs through the end of the year. I must say I'm not enjoying War and Peace any more this time around than I did 30 years ago -such a slog. Yes- they seem to have had an excellent visit. I'm looking forward to visiting in October myself.

Shriner's called and my son's chair is delayed until September. Kind of sad, but it's free, so I'm okay waiting. Unfortunately this is the result of global supply issues. His other med appointment was canceled and it's moved to September too. So, he'll be missing at least 2 days of school.
My MRI for my knee is scheduled for tomorrow. Is it bad that I kind of want it to show something different? Nothing terrible, but so I don't feel like it's all in my head? I was that way with my back too. Turns out it WAS a bad bulged disk. That was thankfully corrected with surgery five years ago.

Well that is disappointing about the chair, refugeepea. You were probably hoping you could use it this summer. Hope it actually comes through in September. I know his lack of weight gain is a worry, but in a way that is probably a good thing if he is still in his old chair. And I don't think it's bad that you are hoping the MRI comes up with something. I don't know how knee replacements go where you are, but here they won't even put you on a waiting list until the problem is big enough. Which means you have to figure out non surgical ways to keep on living your life while the pain and mobility issues escalate. (((((HUGS))))). And hoping for good news from the MRI--whatever good news is for YOU! nylene, it wasn't you who messed anything up with Google. I have been using the MEET App to start meetings, but they have now changed the terms so I can now only use my app to JOIN meetings, rather than host them. gramma is working on a way to set it up so that she can start a meeting and then hand off "presenter" duties. I want to try that out some evening she has time to see if it works the way we want it to. Linda, I read all the time, and don't see myself struggling through War and Peace any time soon. I remember trying to get my oldest ds to read one of his assigned books for English class, and he said, "If that book was any good, they would have made a movie out of it!" Hello, kellyr21. I was happy to see your pocket album in the Gallery and look forward to see what you do when you play with your new paper. I have been alternating between sorting and organizing and actually playing with my stuff. Shared another couple of LO's this morning. Am finally done scrapping last fall!!! I don't force myself to scrap chronologically, but I like to go back before too long to get planned pages into my books. Don't worry about my working too hard in the garden. I have been enjoying getting out and getting a bit of exercise on nice days, but I don't spend a whole day out there slaving in the sun! I don't ever expect to get all the weeds. My motto in the garden--as in life--is "Better than it Was!" Probably the next time I play with paper will be Friday. Tomorrow I am driving to meet up with justjac. We plan to watch the Fair parade, have lunch, maybe spend some time at the LSS. Looking forward to it. I will also be printing my June/July photos while I am in town (and of course running errands for dh, who will have a list of hardware stores I need to visit). The next day I have a meeting with the zoning people at the county office, and hope to get the last T's crossed and I's dotted to finalize the acreage subdivision process.

I'm sorry refugeepea - both about the delay and the need to miss school. Prayers that the MRI is helpful and leads to solutions. grammadee - sounds like a busy week ahead for you - have fun with justjac and hopefully the zoning meeting goes smoothly. Took DD15 back to the podiatrist for her follow-up appointment and to go over the x-ray results. Apparently she has scoliosis which wasn't caught in screenings (and I made a point to make sure they all had regualr screenings for it because I have scoliosis that was missed until high school/after I stopped growing). And she had signs of a healed seismoid fracture in her foot. So she'll starting physical therapy and getting an MRI of her foot/ankle. And will go back again once the MRI results are in. I have a couple of days where I can play with paper before making sure the house is spic and span before my sister and BIL visit next week. They'll only be here a little less than 48 hrs - arriving mid-day Wednesday and leaving super early Friday.

refugeepea , I am so sorry about your news from Shriners. The covid global supply lines have caused so many headaches. I hope things can get moving soon. I'm sure the war doesn't help either. I know you were counting on getting his chair soon. I hope it comes through by September or surprises you and comes earlier. Best wishes on the MRI. Whatever they find, I hope there can be some relief for you. Hugs! Linda , I'm sorry they missed your DD's scoliosis. I hope they can treat it now and hope the therapy on her foot and ankle will help her. When it rains it pours, right? We got some not great medical news yesterday too. DH has a cancer very near his eye and had it biopsied along with another spot the same day. We got the results that the eye didn't need new treatment, but that nose did. We both felt that the eye needed more treatment. I don't really know why we felt that way, except that the lump is still there and seems to be growing. For some reason the Dr. called yesterday and told him to come right in. After looking over the lump and checking the slides of the biopsies, he felt that the biopsies had been switched. After lots of lab checking, etc. we found that they had been switched. The eye lesion needs treatment and will have to be done by an Eye Surgeon who specializes in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. We are waiting for a call from that office. We consider it a tender mercy that we felt there was a problem and the Dr. was willing to really check it out. He was not a happy doctor that this happened! grammadee , I hope that we can get the Google Meet to work. I was hoping to set up a Meet with DH's siblings again, but can't if you can only join, not start a meeting using the free site. That worked well the last time I did it. I tried ordering photos from Costco today and after getting them all chosen, the site keeps telling me that there was an error and they couldn't download them. So frustrating. Em's vacationing with her in-laws in Las Vegas this week so I will have to wait until she returns to help me. Grrr.

My MRI for my knee is scheduled for tomorrow. Is it bad that I kind of want it to show something different? Nothing terrible, but so I don't feel like it's all in my head? OMG, that was EXACTLY my feeling before my MRI! My MRI showed that I have mild arthritis, good ligaments and my menisci aren't frayed or torn. But moderate patellofemoral arthritis is giving me lots of trouble. I had an ortho-visc injection last week, and two more today (he doubled up so I wouldn't have to come back, added a local for comfort). Even my first injection last week made a BIG difference... so good luck on your knee investigations! I'm so sorry about the delay in the chair - chairs are so difficult right from the get go. nylene - what awful news about the tumour near the eye, but I am *so* glad they caught that mistake. Prayers for you both! Linda - medical prayers coming for your DD as well - scoliosis is not something you want to hear but it's good they caught it now. We're leaving imminently for our first little trip - take care everyone!

Hi again Peas! Still watching wildlife live streams. Here is the link Brooks Falls- Katmai National Park First, I was watching an eagle family in the past few months. Now, I am watching the brown bears in Alaska roaming and eating fish. So interesting and relaxing. Today, I even saw a momma bear with her 4 small babies. So cute! This area has 3 or 4 live cameras to see different parts of the area. Also, the salmon are going up stream and it is exciting to see them leaping in the air. But some of them do get eaten by the hungry bears. linda - Thanks! It felt so relaxing to make, too.

kellyr21, that's the exact live stream in DH's cancer doctor's office. I love waiting because it is so much fun to watch the bears. I love your Traveler's Notebook page. Your journaling is so heartfelt and sweet. I'm glad you are beginning to feel better. Keep up the beautiful crafting. It's fun to see your art. Linda, War and Peace? I slogged through that once and that was enough! You are amazing. The other books sound interesting. refugeepea, how soon will you know about the results of the MRI? Hope things went well. kitbop, have a great vacation. I hope it is very relaxing with some fun too. We got an appt with the super-surgeon for DH's eye, but not until Aug 3. He has looked over the path reports and the other doctor's opinion so he must not be too worried about it. Glad we have an appt though. I need to catch up on comments and post 3 pages. Hope to get it all done tonight.

Good Wednesday evening, Pokeys. nylene, that is scary news about your dh, but I am glad you got the error straightened out and he has an appointment with the super surgeon. Hoping his delay is because he believes this is not an emergency, and that he will be able to propose and carry out a successful treatment plan. Dh was supposed to have an MRI on his hip this week but it has been postponed because of difficulty obtaining the dye they use. Hoping your MRI comes up with something helpful, refugeepea. So glad you are playing with paper again, kellyr21. I will take a look at your journal page in the Gallery later. I may check out the bears, as well. Not as nerve wracking watching them playing out in the wilderness as when one was treed on our yard last summer. Glad your family got home safe, Linda. Hope the heat isn't getting to you guys too much down there. I had a nice day today. Spent the morning visiting with justjac while we watched the parade, then we headed over to the LSS where I dropped a bit of $$. She had a bunch of new stuff in. I picked up a couple of embossing folders, some new Simple Stories and echo Park papers and this month's kit they had set aside for me. It is "Winter Woods" by Paper Rose of Australia--really pretty. Then I printed some photos and did a bit of shopping while I waited for the one hour service. Ran some errands for dh. Just as I was about to leave town, I ran into some friends from my days working at the college there, so had a lovely visit with them. I guess their dd texted them a couple weeks ago to let them know she had played golf with one of my ds's in Calgary. Small world.

We had the most wonderful surprise last night. Our DS showed up on our doorstep with our great-granddaughter, Swayzee. She ran in, hugged me and said, "Have you been missing me, Grandma?" The last time we saw her a year ago, she wouldn't get near us,but she played happily with the old Fisher Price toys and blocks for a couple of hours. Every so often she would come jump on my lap and snuggle up to DH. It was totally delightful. Their whole family was going to see a Marvel-type movie, which didn't interest our son so he offered to keep Swayzee for the evening. I have a feeling we may see her a little more now. grammadee , all your new scrappy goodness makes me want to come play with you and your new stuff. I'm glad you got to spend some time with justjac . You two are lucky to have each other. Isn't it interesting that the global supply chain effects such varied item; appliances, wheelchairs, MRI die to name a random few. I hope his MRI can be done soon. Is he looking at a hip replacement? Linda, you have been a busy scrapping bee. It will take you some time to count all those points!

What a wonderful surprise, nylene! So glad you got some Swayzee time. I am not sure what they may decide to do for dh. He has pain and mobility issues, but the main thing they are investigating is what is impeding his circulation to the one leg. A hip replacement may indeed be on the table if the bone and/or arthritic growth is impeding that flow. The problem may be plaque in the vein, but I am not sure how that would be clearned and I have no idea if a stent can be placed there? He is deathly afraid of surgery, but that decision has not even been put to him yet. I am off to see the wizards at the County office today to finalize the subdivision process. Hopefully there are no glitches.

Happy Friday! Waving hi to you gals and hope you are having a nice day. We had a fun time of Wednesday night at the park concert. I even danced a little. LOL! Just two more concerts and that will be it. Also, I started back with my virtual drawing class on Thursday nights. The teacher is easy going and very knowledgeable. I am enjoying it. nylene - So cool you got to see your sweet darling ggd! What a nice surprise! SO happy for you! Also, that is great they play the bear livestream at the dr. office. It is so relaxing for me just hearing the running water and seeing the natural setting. grammadee- You had a fun day with justjac! So glad you got to see her and enjoy everything. linda & joyfulnana- How are your fur babies doing these days?

nylene - how fun for you to get some Swayzee time - I don't think I realised that you didn't get to see her very often. grammadee - that sounds like a lovely day out. Hopefully they figure out your DH's hip/leg problems. kellyr21 - I'm loving that livestream also - so peaceful (okay - maybe not for the salmon). Glad you're enjoying the drawing class - you're so creative and talented. My fur babies are doing well - Midnight (20) isn't very happy with me at the moment. He's been having some accidents so we had the carpet cleaners in today and have gated off the upstairs so he has to stay downstairs where there is very little carpet. I'm pretty sure we're going to need to tear out the hallway and bathroom (just the sink area - the shower/toilet room has flooring) carpet and replace it with not carpet at some point but for now at least, it's clean and smells citrus-y instead of ...well... Dusty is my scrapbook buddy - I have my paper scraps envelopes in one of the Kallax cubes and he's been crawling in on top of them to nap - it's SO cute. Paddington doesn't like it because she hasn't figured out where he's hiding so she can't find him. Mini and Tabby are doing well also.

Hey do you all know Scrapbook dot com has lots of free prerecorded classes? I've been watching a few a of them and they are good. Here is the link if you are interested. Classeslinda - Wow, sorry you had to get your carpet cleaned! I am glad it smells better. LOL! Poor kitty! You've got some fun craft buddies. They really keep you company. Years ago, our family had a cat named "Kitty Boo." She was a black stray cat that started coming to our backyard garden. It took months before we could get close to her but once we did, she was family. I hope I can get a cat or dog in the future. They are such fun pals! Also, I am so glad you are enjoying the bears! I don't like to see them eating the salmon (LOL) but outside of that it is so relaxing and interesting. They have 3 (I think) other camera angles videos of the area, too.

Thanks for the link to the classes - I'll check them out. kellyr21 - I hope you can get a pet - despite the hiccups of having older cats, they really are members of the family and good company. Midnight was also a stray who showed up around 2011, I think it was, and we brought inside when Hurricane Irma was headed through our area in 2017. He adapted very well to being an inside kitty and we suspect he had been an inside cat at some point in his past...he's been a cuddly lap kitty since day one inside
