I got the results from my MRI. The issue with my knee is worse. There aren't any additional problems. So, it wasn't all in my head. I'm in my 40's and it's not recommended to do surgery until your at least 60. I've been a bit down. He told me it's going to hurt when I bend my knee, it's going to hurt going up and down stairs, and to keep it as straight as possible. Basically, what he's told me before, but now it hurts more. I do have a full leg brace to wear at night. I'm going to look into getting a better knee brace to wear daily (stupid fat thighs!). Anyway, it's not super terrible pain like I had before my back surgery. I'm just very frustrated. I worry about long term care of my son. Oh, and apparently my patella is higher on my right knee than my left knee. He thinks my issue is quite strange for my age. I was never competitive in sports and I hadn't injured my knee besides being a klutz and falling a few times. I told him I was born with crooked legs and had to wear casts for four months and he said that could be the reason.
ETA: I'll post photos later. I have embellished a total of 6 journal cards and a altered a couple of mini composition books. It's honestly more than I thought I'd accomplish this month! My daughter is working and my husband and son went on a road trip to Colorado. So, I'm staying in the family room with my son today. Thankfully, he's calm. Just rocking and giving me dirty looks.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! Hope everyone is starting the week healthy and happy. Happy Anniversary, justjac! I hope you have a great time with your mom and sister this next week. Hoping you feel better, Linda and knutschen. Can't wait to see pic's of that new little one, nylene. I have really enjoyed your Eddy and Swayzee pages. What have you been up to, MARIBETHR? Did you play along with the mini LOAD on Scrap Happy? Created any fun cards lately? That is disappointing about the results of the MRI, refugeepea. I suspect that all the lifting you do with your ds may have given you that sports type injury. It seems unfair that people are expected to be in severe pain for months before they will consider surgery. I hope the brace helps. That two-step stair navigation is something that you will master, and the brace will remind you to do it. We have a quiet few days out here on the farm. And the weather has eased off a bit, so daily temps are at comfortable levels. Dh is helping our nephew with haying, so heads out to the field most afternoons. Thursday, dd & family will be arriving again. Plans are to attend the Fair in a nearby town Saturday. Parents plan to leave Monday, and dgs will be here with us until the end of next work week, so I am enjoying the quiet. I used a bit of crafty time yesterday to make some cards that need to get into the mail STAT and am heading to the post office today. I have been slowly working on gardening. Have picked, shelled, frozen one batch of peas. Hope to get another batch tomorrow. In one way it is disheartening that the vegetables are not producing very well, but in another it feels good not to be overwhelmed by them. Okay. Gotta go. Shouting out HI! to gramma and joyfulnana and kitbop and kellyr21 and all the Pokeys.

refugeepea - I'm sorry about your MRI results. ((((Hugs))) grammadee - enjoy your quiet time - it sounds like you'll be busy over the weekend into the next week. I'm sorry about your garden. I'm feeling a bit better, still coughing...dh came down with this a week before me and he's still coughing also so i'm guessing I will be for a while yet. The last piece of our new living room furniture arrived today - yay

What have you been up to, MARIBETHR? Did you play along with the mini LOAD on Scrap Happy? Created any fun cards lately? No, I have tried LOAD twice but am just not good at doing the prompts. I spent this past weekend cutting and prepping the Club Scrap card kits that I have dating back almost a year. Need to get this completed so I can stay on top of these monthly kits as the come in going forward. It will still take some time putting them together and I still have two more months worth to cut and prep. But once that is done I think these will be easy to work on in the evenings after work when I really only have a couple of hours available to me. I have the Kraftin Kimmie Halloween virtual retreat coming up the 29, 30 and 31. Of course I won't be able to participate live on Friday due to work, but they will be recorded. Also did all the assigned prep work for that this past weekend along with the card kits. We made a Peacock in the Stamplistic class Friday night. I still have to put the bling on. This is more of a Home Dec project then a card. Will post that as soon as all the bling is on it. Worked on the bling on my lunch hour today and hope to get some more time this evening, but going to get COVID booster right after work today. Happy Scrafting MB

grammadee , your Stampede photo is great and I had to giggle at the girls' recreation photos. That's something that would be fun for Cousin Camp next year! Your fresh peas make me jealous. I can't tolerate cooked peas, but I love them raw. You will have lots of grandson time. Do you have any special plans? refugeepea , I am so sorry about your knee. Does your Dr. realize how much you have to use those knees with your DS. Would it be worth seeking a 2nd opinion? Knee braces can only do so much, but I hope they will help you. I don't understand how you can keep your leg straight all the time. Hugs and prayers for some better solution. I would love to see more of your embellished cards. Maybe that's what I need to do to enjoy PL scrapping. I just felt like mine looked so dull. Of course I was just using the cards as they came. MARIBETHR , you have been making such beautiful cards. I love that cards thread. So much talent there. Be sure to show us your peacock. I'm intrigued! It sounds like you have some fun scrafty time coming up. I hope you will post your finished projects here. Tori sent me a photo of little Hailey. It makes me just want to kiss those little lips. Mom and baby are doing well. Baby Hailey Grace
I have spent the last couple of hours helping DH with his pens. He makes some beautiful pens with 8 to 16 segments of different kinds of wood. He had them all cut ready to put together, but can't see to put them into a nice design so that's my job. It's fun seeing how many fun kinds of wood he had cut, drilled and put in labeled cups. We put them on bolts in a pleasing order and made enough for about 18 pens. Now he can just choose a bolt and turn the pen without worrying that all the dark woods are together or all the light woods are together.

Happy Tuesday! It has cooled down out here and I am grateful! Whew! Hope you all are doing well today. I was watching one of my YT videos yesterday and was inspired to make one of my mini album cards. So I am playing with paper today and it feels nice. I started one of the mini album booklet with the hard cover a week or so ago and just need to figure out what pictures to use. nylene- WELCOME HAILEY GRACE! Nylene, she is beautiful and I am so happy mom and baby are well. I hope you get to see her soon. Oh, what a blessing to your family. SO fun to see you and your dh working on his beautiful ink pens. I know it is a bonding activity. Waving hi to you and your husband.

oh nylene - she's beautiful! MARIBETHR - you always do such detailed and lovely work kellyr21 - looking forward to seeing your finished project I'm still sick - I thought I was getting better but 2 nights ago I couldn't sleep for the coughing and yesterday I spent mostly in bed and now my sore throat is back. Ended up cancelling appointments yesterday and I think DH will be taking DD to PT by himself tonight.

Oh Linda, that is a LONG time to be sick. Are you continuing to test for Covid? Please take care of yourself. Hailey is gorgeous, nylene. Looking forward to seeing more of her on your pages as she grows. That sounds like a fun virtual retreat, MARIBETHR. Can't wait to see your cards! Does everyone have a long weekend? Dd arrived last night after work and the rest of her little family, complete with pets, will be here before noon. We plan to pick saskatoon berries today. Tomorrow we will attend the local fair. And over the weekend dh wants to use the extra help to empty a shed he plans to build a floor for in the next couple of months. I believe the parents plan to leave Monday and dgs will be here the rest of the week. Dd is working remotely from here. I am enjoying the calm before the energy arrives!

Posting two more things for the month. Some journal cards and decorated mini composition books. I was inspired by the Christmas in July thread on the GS board and I scrapped four years worth of Christmas cards. Those pages are boring. Some themed pattern paper peeking through the cards that I kept. It was quite freeing. I cut apart cards, kept some fully intact, cut out handwritten greetings, and the album is less bulky now.

Linda, I am so sorry that you are still sick. It really sounds like Covid even though negative testing. I hope you begin to feel better very soon. This has been a very bad cold! MARIBETHR, I saw your peacock in the sharing thread. Sure am glad you are on our team with all those jewels. Beautiful job, my friend. grammadee, we don't have a long weekend here, but had one last weekend for Pioneer Day. We didn't do anything to celebrate, but we did have some leisurely time. I look forward to that date each year because the corn comes on and we have a stand close to us. We love corn on the cob! I hope you survive your weekend with all the family. It sounds like a crazy, but wonderful time. kellyr21, are your concerts in the park over now? I think you said you attended the last one. How is the crafting going. I look forward to seeing a new video from you. refugeepea, I love your comp. books and decorated cards. Your ideas for cutting up Christmas cards for your pocket pages sound so freeing. I hold on to so many cards. I love the handmade ones and the photo ones. The others should be recycled into my scrapping, I think. I just have not done that. How did your dinner go? When is your Fair. We really want to see a rodeo. I think ours is next weekend. Waving to joyfulnana, kitbop, justjac, gramma, shinyhappytina, knutschen, msliz, and all the other Pokey Peas. It's the end of the month so I will be setting up the August thread on Sunday.

I love the handmade ones and the photo ones. The others should be recycled into my scrapping, I think. I just have not done that. How did your dinner go? When is your Fair. We really want to see a rodeo. I think ours is next weekend. Dinner went great! Fair is Monday, August 22-27. Wednesday is when everything really begins. There is the parade that starts at the stupid time of 5:00 p.m. I avoid it as much as possible. It's quite humorous how people stake the good spots. They even had to make a rule that Monday was the earliest it was allowed. After the parade, everything is open at the fairgrounds. Exhibit buildings, all the food, bands, and the rodeo. The week before (I think) they usually have a somewhat bigger country concert. Like a band that was really big 20 years ago. The ones in the bandstand area are very local.
I prefer to go during the day, check out the exhibit buildings, get some lunch, and sometimes see the animals. We will usually get dinner one time during the fair. One of our favorites is ribbon fries. The Farm Bureau Stand has good hamburgers and I think they still only accept cash. Most will take cards. My daughter, the book nerd gets most excited about The Bookmobile sale. They park near the back of the food vendors and have a three day used book sale. There are some DVDS. I enjoy it as well. I got deliriously happy one year when I found my favorite romantic/cheesy Christmas movie that has Hallmark vibes; Snow Globe!

Happy Friday! Waving hi to you all and hope you are having a good day. Working on some mini albums just for fun. I will post pics when I'm done. It's been fun using my new HS supplies on these little projects. Art class was last night and Wednesday was the last park concert nylene. They had the city's orchestra perform. I always enjoy this night. I love at the end they invite the kids to come up and conduct. They get so excited to stand on the conductor's box with the baton. So cute! nylene- I sure miss making my YT videos. I hope I can get back to it this year. I was jotting some new ideas down the other day so fingers crossed. joyfulnana Hey there! Waving hi to you and Abby! grammadee- No big plans here this weekend but hope to get to the park at minimum. Enjoy your family and the fair.

Hey everyone. My mom and my sister arrived Tuesday which was our anniversary. We went out to dinner with Dean’s dad and brother and my family. My sister and I have been working on our knitting class together. We’ve also been rearranging (and donating) some furniture to make room for a few pieces coming from Dean’s dad’s. Have fun this weekend grammadee! It’s a bit hot for me so we are staying inside a lot. nylene your new great grand daughter is adorable. refugeepea I’m sorry to hear about your knee. kellyr21 I love hearing about your creative pursuits.

Hey hey and waving HI to everyone!! nylene your new GGD Hailey is BEAUTIFUL!!! Is there any chance her family will be making a trip to Utah before Labor Day? I would love to see some of Steve's pens. grammadee you are a busy busy bee with a busy DGS I hope you are taking care of yourself too! It sounds so fun but also so exhausting! Linda, do you think you do/did have Covid then? It really feels to me like every sickness now is some Covid variant, it's like Covid killed every other disease we had become acclimated, semi immune? to. I hope you continue to get better and stay that way! refugeepea I love your PL cards. It helps me so much to see what others do with pocket cards. Thank you for sharing them. This last couple weeks has flown by and I don't even know really with what lol. I've been plodding along on my December album, and struggling since it's the first 6x8 album I've done. I'm making it so much harder than it should be I know lol. So I've worked on that, but my mojo is definitely on the downlow this year. Everytime I really think about it, the word fallow comes to mind. Like I'm having a fallow year without a lot of creativity. I have a desire to make things, but very low motivation to actually do it lol. I've definitely become a champion couch potato though lol. I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
