I have a set of photos from a water lantern festival I want to scrap. They are dark and all of the lights in them are rainbow colored. The pictures overall have a dark purple hue. I cannot find any papers that go well with these to save my life aside from a rainbow gradient glitter paper that I picked up from Hobby Lobby. Nothing matches the paper, nothing matches the pictures. Where are all the purples and deep colors hiding? Why is everything pastel? Has anyone scrapped pictures like these and how did you do it?

A water lantern festival sounds fun! Given the colorful photos have an overall dark appearance, consider medium to light neutral supplies for contrast to highlight the photos (& perhaps the entire layout mounted on charcoal, eggplant, or rainbow cardstock to "frame" it). Since the industry focuses on themes, (the same/predictable) dark colors are typically found in fall & winter (seasonal & holiday) collections released this & the next few (ie summer/early fall) months. Historically, purples are scarce except for cardstock. HTH.

This one is an option for sure. I was actually searching for night sky papers but the tons of the blues seem to lean very green in what I was finding. Thanks for the links!

I've never been someone to scrap on a white background, maybe it's time I tried it.

I was going to suggest Reminisce too. They have a lot of papers that I use for my nighttime and nightlife photos.

My first thought was Reminisce and then some of the paper pads from Michaels had these colors too.

Thanks everyone. I went through every single piece of paper in my stash one more time and I came up with a couple more that are ok. Not great, but better than buying something else that isn't perfect either. I'm using the sketch Aussiemeg posted from Saturday for some inspiration and I think it will be ok.
