I’m bothered by it, too, but littleblueberry has been a member for a long time. She must have known how these sorts of threads usually pan out. If she was already convinced her actions are justified, then why create the thread to begin with? I just don’t see the point.

 The French teenagers, from what my memory can conjure. A longtime Pea who lived in France suddenly went off the rails in some postings, weirdly out of character. Her excuse was someone was visiting, and these French teenagers thought it’d be hilarious to troll 2Peas pretending to be her. About what I remember, that was so long ago it’s making me feel old 🤣

Yes, it was back in the day when 2Peas NSBR was a lively place after hours. A longtime pea suddenly started posting bizarre stuff one night. The next day, she came on and blamed it on visiting French teenagers. People were never sure whether said French teenagers ever really existed or if the pea was actually PUI.  

Therefore, whenever we get these bizarre postings connected to someone, French teenagers are brought up. 

I’m still unconvinced that the new poster is a college-aged child, I think it is either the teenager or blueberry herself. The writing style is too bizarre. And I have a hard time imagining a college student doing anything but rolling their eyes so hard that they got a headache if their mom tried to involve them in a thread to defend her on a board full of middle-aged ex-scrapbooking women. And, well, the first-hand report of the supposed fireworks incident. 

PDR was separate from Leigh and not involved in the French teenagers incident. PDR did/does have a beautiful daughter (and son) with blond hair and blue eyes. But, yes, I think Leigh was the daughter of the France-residing pea (whose name escapes me).

I stopped reading at page 5, but here are my thoughts. It’s none of your business. And that is how you should have answered your children’s question. It’s none of our business. How did you raise your children that they would even ask such a question?

Now I remember the French teenagers incident.

FWIW, I think the OP needs to call whichever Kentucky agency would monitor contaminated drinking water and have things checked out. In Texas the septic runoff must be away, very away from a well that provides drinking water. I know I would not want any possibility of it contaminating MY drinking water. I would want verification that my water is safe.

After the safety of the water is verified, then, OP needs to worry about her own self and leave the neighbors alone.


And, yes, this thread will become part of the "pea lore."

I think this is a thread that we may need to bring out the Hoff. Strike that...THEE Hoff. 

Isn't there a thread or a subredit or something called "Am I the Asshole?" - curious if she posted her original tale if they would have come to the same (2peas) conclusion....?

If they smelled bad they weren’t cared for properly. Bathing ferrets just stimulates oil glands. Instead, what eliminates smell is laundering their bedding—hammocks, sleep sacks, blankets—at least weekly. We had rescue ferrets for a time and I helped provide on-line info, and helped our veterinarian distribute info on the web. He had come up with some treatment protocols and I’d write user friendly info sheets for owners or handouts for their vets. More than twenty years later I still get an occasional request from an owner or a vet. A friend wrote a definitive book about care. 

Most people don’t care for ferrets very well though they think they love them. Ferrets aren’t pocket pets; they need exercise and safe areas to play—and to avoid being smelly, frequent bedding washing. And never any type of wood shavings. 

Some dogs have a stronger odor than ferrets.  

I’m not posting these days and won’t be back for a while—nothing to do with weasels—so won’t see responses but I was emailed a link and wanted to set the ferret record straight.

We are often asked “What can I do to keep the odor under control? We bathe him every week.”
Even altered ferrets will have a slight musky odor. Frequent bathing, however, is not recommended and will actually stimulate the production of a strong musky scent. We rarely bathe ours - unless they have gotten into something (again) and a bath is the only way to get them clean.

We once were surprised to find ourselves the proud owners of a Red-Eyed Black ferret - our albino had gotten into the fireplace ashes. Our first “Black-Eyed White” was a former silver mitt who had gotten in the powdered sugar. Sometimes young kits will require more frequent bathing then older ferrets, until their body learns to regulate itself. Changing the bedding on a regular basis (at least once a week) will do more to cut down on ferret “body odor” than just about anything else.”

There is so much to comment on, but I don’t have that kind of time today.  I would just like to suggest that if you come to a board like this with the intent to “school” us in the errors of our ways, at least spend a few minutes and proofread what you wrote.  I was itching to get out my red pen like several other peas have commented.

Was this a veiled attempt to call the neighbor fat?

I won’t list all of the errors in your missive, but I won’t be able to sleep tonight if I don’t let you know that there is no hyphen in the word misunderstood.  And the word you were looking for is nitpick, not knit pick.

I’m leaning toward “Poorasskin Gate” exercising the pea prerogative of making up a new word as needed.  Or we could pepper it with hyphens “Poor-Ass-Kin Gate” which would also be appropriate for this one.
