I'm headed to the salon today and I'm considering changing shapes.

What are your currently? I find square too harsh and too easily broken personally
Ballerina is pretty too.

Genetics are against me - I have wide nails that bend down naturally as soon as they grow, so I keep them pretty short.

I invariably get dirt underneath my nails, and instead of using my clippers for deadheading flowers, I usually use my finger/thumb. In addition, I am back to chewing my nails (anxiety issues). So my nails are 'short/uneven' shaped. lol.

A short squoval works best for me. Too square, and they break. Too long, and I can't type. My nails grow super fast -- I have to cut them all the way down to the quick and by two weeks they're way too long.

When they are trimmed (I don't get manicures except for special occasions) mine are almond shaped. My nails are really hard, and i use them all the time as tools: that rounded point works wonderfully for punching through packaging, etc LOL. Of course some get broken that way, and b/c they are hard I can't really just grab something and trim them. I also garden without gloves, so when I have to clean up to go somewhere, they require a bit of extra love.

I do my nails at home (dip powder) and have squoval. I love the look of the coffin shape but for the life of me, I can't seem to do it right so sqoval it is.

Once I pound them into the wood, I don't think about them much more.

Mine are about 1/8-1/4 of an inch long and pull weed every few days. No real shape. Never have been. I would say they are rounded.

I never get manicures , but always pedicures. Although I do have nice, longish nail beds, they usually end up ripped off and maybe filed.

I have one nail, on my right index finger, that absolutely will not grow. Once it gets any length on it at all it splits right in the middle. I’ve tried vitamins, nail strengthening solutions, the whole nine yards. Therefore, I have to keep all of my nails in a short, squoval shape. They’re almost always painted, too.

Other: ugly. Right now half of them have broken so they have been trimmed down to the quick and none of them are ever the same shape even when they’re all the same length so they look stupid polished. I wouldn’t ever be able to stand having acrylics, I can barely tolerate having clear polish on them.

Squoval short, I'm trying to cure some peeling and they keep breaking. They're very dry and my pinkies have some vertical ridges, which I'm attributing to hormonal changes.
But they're always polished 100% of the time and have been for the last ten years. It's soothing to me to paint them and I like seeing different colors all the time. I used to do them every day but I don't have time for that anymore so they get done about 2-3x a week.

In looking at some pics online, I would say that mine are probably more oval shaped? But maybe slightly more squoval than true oval. I can't stand the super long nails

Short, curved top squovals. That would seem to describe mine as well.

Super short squovals. If I look at my palms and I can see my nail tips, they’re too long.

One had is squoval to round the other hand is round to squoval. It's their natural shape. One had I have long nail beds. The other hand from my last knuckle to the end 3 of my fingers are shorter than the other hand and the nails are short too.

Squoval to round. I try to start as square, just straight across but by the time I file the sides so they aren't sharp, they become more rounded. My nails grow super fast and I used to have long nails but as I get older I think they look too Cruella deVille for me so I keep them short and polished about 1/2 the time.

I don't even know what some of those are, LOL. But I guess I would say mine are soft squares?? Or maybe round?? They are more square than my fingertips, but definitely are not squared off.

Square or squoval, very short, but slightly shorter on the left hand than the right so I can play various stringed instruments. My own nails are weak and thin and I’ve recently discovered the delights of press-on nails. Haha. Much cheaper than manicures and they don’t damage my natural nails like shellac.
I can’t really do any other shape because of how short I need them to be.
