Good morning.
This morning an occupational therapist is coming here to take me on a stamina-building walk for a few minutes. My shiny blue walker is going to get some use. That's my big activity today. Apart from that, I will make the panko chicken, rice pilaf and tepanyaki zuchinni that I was going to make on Monday. Apart from that, I still haven't ordered anything from Prime Day.
What's on your menu?
Today is JG's birthday and per her request I won't tag her, but in case she is reading I want to wish her a very happy, healing and easy year. She has a huge heart and is always there for others. Happy Birthday, JG. Feel free to share your wishes, but let's not tag her, so that she can have her retreat week.
tuesdaysgone, I'm sending you finished loo energy.  I hope that they're done today and that you just love your new bathroom.

I'm popping in to say hi. I keep dreaming about you guys. The other night I had a dream that I was painting leannec bedroom in her new condo. Her and I were just totally goofing off and laughing. And we were covered in paint. And just to let you know Leanne the color was a pretty blue-gray. And then I dream last night that lucyg and I were picking out a refrigerator. I'm not sure who the refrigerator was for but we both agreed that harvest gold was the right color. Blech! Anyway I've got my cake in the oven right now. It smells delicious. And I've spent my morning crocheting. Which I plan to do the rest of the day. I'm not sure what is for dinner. I have meals but who wants to cook on their birthday. I miss you guys and apparently my dreams are telling me I need all of you. |

Happy hump day!
Another day of the same things - packing boxes and cleaning up and a walk in there early this morning before it got to warm. I think I am now only a couple of boxes from finishing my craft room, and 3 or 4 from finishing the living room bookcases. After that, it’s kitchen, bathroom and clothes, which are going to be Monday/Tuesday next week, as we can’t do without those things for too long.
We get our new keys on Sunday, and DH is planning that we take a carload of things we are transporting ourselves over when we go to meet the building owners, then we’ll stay for a while and measure a few things. I am a bit mad at myself - I had a notebook where I wrote down all the info we have so far, and I can’t find it. I strongly suspect that I accidentally packed it, but I am not going through 30 cartons to find where it is.
DH is out for dinner tonight, so I am having the leftovers of last night’s biryani.
I still have not succumbed to Prime Day - I haven’t even looked at Amazon today.

jeremysgirl, What flavor of cake are you baking? This is also your home and I'm happy to see you. Enjoy your day of crochet. It's your special day and I wish I was there to take you for a fun girl's lunch. sueg, I wouldn't go through those boxes, either. You'll find what you need. When are you suppposed to be out of your current apartment? Are you able to take time for knitting and rest?

last night, after spending the day cleaning.. we went out down the road for burgers. so tonight will try the butternut spirals with veggies and pesto sauce.
need to run to the store too. my son is coming over to help move a few things, then take him home and take my kid to the dentist. then other stuff.
my dh is still in WA state, after moving his mom into a care home. on my mother in law's computer screen, the background picture is one of my mother in law in the 1960's standing on a snowfield, wearing her backpack and carrying a rope.. she and her husband, with others, did a major climbing route cross the cascade mountains... my husband says everyone who comes in to help her sees that picture and can hardly believe it is my mother in law. she is keeping up her badass image!!
if you ask my kids what one phrase is characteristic of their grandma, it is "get over it kid" they love her very much.

sueg , I wouldn't go through those boxes, either. You'll find what you need. When are you suppposed to be out of your current apartment? Are you able to take time for knitting and rest? We don’t need to be fully out of here until the end of the month. Our moving van day is next Wednesday, so we will have plenty of time to bring over things we want to carry ourselves - we can store them in our cellar on moving day, so they don’t accidentally go on the truck - and we are also getting a cleaning service in early in the last week. once we get to the new place, I’ll have plenty of down time, even with DH insisting that we unpack by the end of the month as well, before he goes back to work. |

It's been a pretty crazy day so far but hoping it will get better. I've been going back and forth with dr. offices just to get papers faxed. Keeping fingers crossed that they will get done before the day is over. I got laundry done and groceries were ordered and put away early this morning.
For dinner we are having baked chicken with a sweet potato.

It sounds like your mother-in-law was an adventurer who didn’t let life pass her by. cadoodlebug Salmon or ribs sound delicious. That puppy meme is fun. This morning I woke up to the news that my Brenda passed away. It was expected and she was a few years older than me. She had some type of blood cancer; but not leukemia. My ODS had an ENT appointment and we are hoping that our insurance approves a cochlear implant for him. I have cleaning, laundry and organizing to do today. Dinner tonight is going to be some type of chicken dish. I hope that all of you have a peaceful day. |

Okay I kinda went buck wild on Prime last night. Bought the Breville Toaster Oven Air Fryer Pro. It was $100 off! I also got a Shark stick vacuum and an entryway bench coat hanger thing. Dinner tonight is chicken fritters with sautéed green beans and shrooms and some basmati rice.

Happy Wednesday! I made it back from SC. I am so glad to be home. It was a great trip but a long one. Especially since I will be going back in three weeks. Happy Birthday JG!!! I agree with everything you said scrapmaven. JG has a heart of gold. Regardless of what is going on in her life, she is here for EVERYONE. I wish her a year of happiness. She so deserves it. Haven't ordered anything from Prime. Not even going to look. Dinner is going to be chicken fajitas and corn on the cob. Fresh corn started coming out last week. I will eat it every week, multiple times a week until it is gone! |

I never have dreams that vivid ... my bedding is all navy and white so the colour is perfect  Happy birthday to you ... enjoy your banana cake  I went on the date from hell last night ... well, it wasn't really a date because I stood around at a Calgary Stampede music venue by myself for more than two hours ... not my idea of a good time ... I left ... no idea how long it took for the dude to realize I was gone  My Indian "friend" called me late last night and made me feel better ... he gets back to Calgary in 10 days ... can't wait! My dd's leave for British Columbia on vacation with ex tomorrow ... they will be gone for a week and then will drive themselves back while he stays there for another week with his girlfriend and her son ... I'm taking the girls to the mall today to buy new swimsuits ... my fav place: the mall  Dinner tonight will be some sort of pasta and corn dish from my meal kit box ... it's pretty good! |

Finally done! It took 3 weeks and we went back to the studs, but I have a new and beautiful bathroom. They finished about an hour ago. It will take a day or two to get things back together. I was in a rush when I cleaned out the bathroom closet before the project. Now I will make time to go thru all that stuff and only put back what we need. Pictures coming when I'm done. This is also the first day in 3 weeks I've been ALONE in the house. I didn't realize how draining it was to always have people coming and going. It's the sound of silence I need now. DH is feeling better. I'll make him some spaghetti and a salad this evening. I'll be at yoga during dinner time. Sorry for your loss destined2bmomJG birthday girl...I hope you are having a peaceful birthday. PolarGreen12, glad to see you back. We missed you. scrapmaven, one step at a time! destined2bmom , I'm so very sorry for your loss. May Brenda's memory be for a blessing to all who knew her. leannec , I know that you love the mall just a bit less than hell. Have something fun in the food court? I went for my little walk, found out that I move slower than a little old 93 year old mil and came home, grateful that I didn't need a boy scout to help me cross the street. I'm in my recliner Prime Day surfing for the foreseeable future.

So funny story. After my dad passed away my mother didn’t see any use for the fire stick that he had so she gave it to me and I hooked it up to my TV upstairs. Well I subscribed to HBO Max and added her as a user. While her smart TV is too old to install any apps other than Netflix and I think prime video so I told her she could have the fire stick back. Not a big deal. When she came home from Florida I told her we’d hook it up etc. etc. Well she can’t find it doesn’t know where she put it. So yesterday they were on sale for a really good deal at Amazon so we ordered one showed up today I went to plug it into the back of her TV and guess what’s there? Yes that’s right the original fire stick. Neither one of us remember hooking it to the back of the TV, so the new fire stick is going back.
Not sure what’s for dinner possibly the stirfry that I made yesterday that I didn’t eat. A friend and I are headed to a stamping up card class at about 530

We remodeled our master bath in our old house and it seems it took months to finish. Luckily we had 2 other bathrooms we could use in the interim. PolarGreen12, nice to see ya! scrapmaven , baby steps! christine58 , funny story! Sounds like something I would do. DS left this morning but not before getting Paramount+ for us on Prime Days. Now we can continue with Seal Team!

Happy Birthday JG. Enjoy your cake! We returned home and I never went to the grocery in town so it was find your own food. I had veggies & chips & dip Yesterday I met one of my bffs at a new taco & bourbon place. They had a kangaroo meat taco AussieMeg 🤮 I got a mahi-mahi one with a frozen peach Bellini margarita that had way more alcohol in it than I’m used to. Probably won’t be begging to go back. So sorry for your loss destined2bmom |

I’m home now, still trying to decide about the air fryer. I would have to move some things off the counter to make space for it (current toaster oven hangs underneath the cabinets above, very convenient and out of the way). And my kitchen isn’t very large at all. *sigh* I need to stop dithering and make up my mind before midnight! DS is bringing over a dinner kit and making it tonight. I don’t know what. There’s fresh peach cream pie from the place where we had lunch, chosen specifically because we could get a peach pie now while they’re in season. Tomorrow I am headed out of town for a 4-day crop. I’m sure dinner will be Italian tomorrow, Mexican and/or burgers on Saturday/Sunday. May or may not pop in. Happy birthday, JG. Hope it’s the nicest day ever. I’m sorry about your (friend?) A friend got one and I know it really helped her. jeremysgirl so glad you popped in and are having a nice birthday. Happy happy birthday! Tonight we will have tri-tip, corn or jasmine rice and veggies from the garden. We have a monster yellow squash plant and picked off 6 more today. I was happy to meet a friend for a walk and pawn off some squash and Italian green beans. My tomatoes are just beginning to turn red! Happy days and more sharing ahead.

For dinner tonight we are having orange chicken (courtesy of Costco), white rice and grilled zucchini. I have a lovely summer cold and don't feel like putting much effort into dinner. leannec , I know that you love the mall just a bit less than hell. Have something fun in the food court? Yes, I did have a nice burrito in the food court ... Taco Time is my fav place in the mall!  The dd's and I were there for three long hours but we had fun ... I didn't rush them and I bought some cute stuff for myself ... right now none of my clothes fit because I've lost so much weight  leannec sorry about the lame date you went on. Where did the dude go that you were alone for 2 hours?? That would make me so mad. OK, here's the DL ... I met this guy online ... he contacted me ... talked with him for awhile and he is part of the crew for a major country music act ... for real. He is from Georgia so no chance of anything past just meeting up last night for some Stampede fun at a concert ... I'm 55 and single ... sounded fun ... I used to manage CD stores before I went into teaching so I have had a lot of experience with "knowing the band" ... He arranged for me to get into the venue for free ... a good sign ... it was all downhill from there ... It took him almost 90 minutes to clear customs at the airport ... YYC (Calgary International) is terrible right now so I should have known ... I was left to wait around by myself for about two hours ... so uncomfortable because the place was full of people partying ... most of them very young ... sigh! He finally appears ... tells me that the band goes on in two hours and I can "stand here" ... he'll be there off and on So I had already been standing alone for two hours and he wanted me to stand alone for another two hours?  Ummm, NO! I thought hard about it and I left ... took another Uber home and drove to McDonald's because I was starving He didn't offer me a drink or have any plan whatsoever - except meeting me at the hotel later apparently because I heard from him later ... another NO! I don't need to be a groupie of any kind  |

Um, can I just ask when did we all start calling jeremysgirl "JG" ? That's MY name for her! (I'm kidding.) I made jalapeno popper chicken, again. I tell ya, I'm addicted to that stuff! destined2bmom I am sorry about your friend Brenda.  Yesterday I met one of my bffs at a new taco & bourbon place. Speaking of kangaroos, I took these photos this morning when I went for a walk up the mountain with a friend. There were heaps of kangaroos out this morning.
