Do you wear specific underwear for working out?
What kind?

I absolutely never wear underwear when I workout. Or when I hike or walk.
Good, supportive, opaque activewear doesn’t need underwear.

I just wear my regular underwear. I know lots of people don’t wear underwear with workout clothes but that’s not for me.

I’ve never understood wearing underwear - I wear either running shorts or running tights to workout.

I had no idea that not wearing underwear while working out was a thing, except for most female gymnasts. The things you learn!

It just seems so bulky wearing underwear under leggings/tights plus I have an unusually strong negative reaction to a panty line lol. Agree that I would wear underwear with loose bottoms but unless I’m hiking my bottoms are rarely loose.

I wear my regular underwear, with the caveat that all my underwear is granny underwear so I don’t have to deal with it sliding around into places it shouldn’t be. Some pairs have vanishing edges or boy short legs if panty lines will be a problem. (I don’t care about those when I’m just out walking in my neighborhood or doing a home workout.)

The thought of not wearing underwear in any circumstance where clothing is usually worn totally skeeves me out.

The thought of not wearing underwear in any circumstance where clothing is usually worn totally skeeves me out. So do you wear underwear under a swimsuit? Workout gear is the same material and fit as a swimsuit.

The thought of not wearing underwear in any circumstance where clothing is usually worn totally skeeves me out. This! 😆 I cannot NOT wear underwear. Wearing underwear, I feel like it protects against camel toe and accidental see-through stretchy fabric. As to the OP’s question, I just wear my normal underwear.

And it is not the same material as my leggings, at least not the ones I buy. Agreed! My DD has a few pairs of athletic shorts that have underwear built in, I could see not wearing separate underwear under those. But that’s not true in most cases, at least not with the athletic wear I personally own.

I typically go commando in workout gear but for times when I need workout underwear, Runderwear are really good. RunderwearIf you use code AMR20, you can get 20% off. I get nothing for sharing the code, but honestly, I wear their underwear as daily wear now, they're that breathable and comfortable.

My swim leggings are the same as my compression cooling leggings I wear to workout or hike. I wear a sports bra under my rash guard. I don’t see a difference.

I need to wear underwear under my leggings because doing lunges and squats tends to cause the leggings to get way too up in my undercarriage. I don't want a visible camel toe AND it's uncomfortable. I wear the vanishing edge type so there really isn't a panty line.
When wearing running shorts with built in underwear, I usually skip separate underwear.

I wear underwear. I've done it both ways and prefer to wear it. Believe me, there are plenty of women at the gym who SHOULD be wearing underwear but don't. One woman worked really hard to get herself a huge behind (My dh said it had to be implants) and was running around the gym in white workout leggings. There is no way that it was natural. On an average body, those white leggings would have been okay but when you have such a round behind that it stretches the fabric, white is NOT your friend.
I don't care if you wear it or not but at least have the decency to look in a mirror before you leave the house.

I learned the hard way that wearing underwear while running or biking long distances causes saddle sores. I wear regular underwear if I'm just doing a short run or walking but otherwise, no underwear for me!

My running shorts have a built in liner and I never rewear running shorts, so don't wear underwear with them. I wear leggings to walk the dog in the morning and often rewear them so always where underwear with those - nothing special.

My running shorts have a built in liner so no underwear with those. With my leggings, I usually don’t wear anything with them but if I do, usually it’s a under armour nude thong. I do check with my leggings by doing squats and a ‘sweat’ test to make sure everything wears ok - and absolutely do not wear light colored leggings.
Edited to add - my leggings have a a panty matieral in the crotch. I assumed most do if they’re for working out, but it sounds like some might not.

I wear a boy short style or thong in a stretchy, breathable, “no panty lines” type of fabric. I’m sure there’s a more succinct word to describe that kind of fabric, but I’m drawing a blank!
What style I wear depends on what I’m exercising in. I usually wear a thong with shorts or a tennis skirt, and boy shorts with leggings. I never go without underwear unless I’m in pajamas.

I just wear my regular underwear. I know lots of people don’t wear underwear with workout clothes but that’s not for me. Not for me either. This topic comes up often in fitness groups I'm in on FB. It's simply personal preference, nothing wrong with either choice. I prefer mesh thongs, but I also have some other seamless ones from Target that don't result in VSP.

I’ve never considered not wearing underwear. I just wear regular underwear with a pantiliner to help manage sweat and other stuff. I do make sure that my workout leggings aren’t see-through. Panty lines, however, do not bother me. I wear underwear, like most people do. I don’t care if people know that.
