Friday Date Nite: Dinner & a Movie!
Each week we will go on a dinner and a movie scrapping/cardmaking date (your choice!} There will be a choice of two movies A or B (layout or card to be based on something from the movies), dinner options A or B (apps, entrees, desserts which may be equivalent to colors, sketch idea, embellishments, etc.) and movie snacks A or B (equivalent to titles, journaling, phrases, etc.). TEN points to complete either A or B movie, dinner, & snacks challenge combo. Bonus of 25 points if you complete them both for any week, or ANY TWO Date Nite challenges during the Quarter. Bonus of 100 points for completing ANY FOUR Date Nite challenges during the quarter
Movie A: Jurassic Park (Any movie in the franchise counts!)
Dinner APPS: Salad and dressing (use texture such as an embossing folder)
ENTREE: Canned Beef Stew with carrots, peas and potatoes (use the
colors brown, orange, green and tan/cream)
DESSERT: Frozen yogurt with M&Ms (use embellishments that are light
and fun such as brads and vellum)
Movie Snack: Twinkies and Diet Coke
Use a journaling block or journaling frame and incorporate a phrase or quote from the movie into your journaling or title
“Welcome to Jurassic Park.”
“Ooh, Ah. That’s how it always starts. But then later, there’s always running and screaming.”
Movie B: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Either the Gene Wilder or Johnny Depp version)
Dinner APPS: Tomato Basil Soup and Croutons (use simple simple and fun based embellishments such as stickers and die cuts)
ENTREE: Roast Beef and Baked Potatoes (use colors such as chocolate brown, violet, blueberry or raspberry, cream or tan and a touch green)
DESSERT: Blueberry Pie and Ice Cream (use textures that are deliciously decadent such as ribbons, buttons, flowers and bling!)
Movie Snack: Wonka Bars and Fizzy Lifting Drink
Use borders on your layout. Find a way to incorporate a phrase or quote into you journaling or title
“The Inventing Room”
“It’s currently in development.”
Why these two movies and the food choices? They are fun and we have probably seen them a time or two, so they make good movies to scrapbook by. You don’t have to pay too much attention and won’t lose the story line. The food choices are actually from the movies. The food from JP is stuff that the kids found in the kitchen/dining room scene with the two raptors chasing them. The food from WW is from the scene where Violet eats the chewing gum with the meal flavors. Besides, it’s great meal suggestions for the crockpot for dinners on a scrapbook night! Enjoy your date night with a scrapbook!
