Because now I'm really wondering! From that other thread, I'm guessing about 1/3 never or sometimes wear undies. No judgment, just as I said, that was truly news to me, and it seems to be way more common than I'd have suspected.

I was waiting on someone to post a poll regarding anyone who wears underwear with their swimsuit. That made me laugh.

I never wear underwear with workout gear. I have yet to find a pair that doesn't slide around, show lines or get caught up in the goods. It's been years since I tried to find underwear and now that I am used to going without, I don't even think about it. I buy well fitting, thick, opaque workout tights (no camel toe) or running shorts.
I sweat head-to-toe when I work out. Like drenched. No part of my body is spared so to me the, ahem, crotch parts aren't getting any dirtier than the rest of my workout clothes. I wash workout clothes after every wear and use a laundry sanitizer with every load.
I guess I don't see what the difference is between workout clothes against my skin and wearing underwear against my skin

I don’t understand why anyone would want *more* layers and bulk while working out and getting sweaty.
That seems awful and uncomfortable.
And I still don’t see the difference between workout wear and a swimsuit.

And I still don’t see the difference between workout wear and a swimsuit. In Mediterranean counties etc men wear cotton singlets/vests under their shirts to absorb sweat. It’s not rocket science but it does work.

It’s not rocket science but it does work. But workout gear is moisture wicking. If you add a layer between your skin and the moisture wicking fabric, you’re no longer getting the wicking benefit. That’s the part I don’t understand. The underwear is *blocking* the benefits (cooling and wicking) of the material specifically designed for sweating while you work out. We aren’t talking about regular clothes. We aren’t talking about men wearing undershirts (which men wear here under dress shirts and I totally get that). We are specifically talking about women’s workout gear, which is literally designed to be worn without underwear.

Maybe I am just used to wearing underwear all the time. And cotton is good for sweaty parts. 😆

Not everyone who works out does gym, running or yoga type activities. I do action action sports, skateboard and BMX riding. Sorry, not going commando under Kevlar BMX pants.

I wear loose fitting workout clothes, not tights. My underwear stay put and don’t make me hot or more sweaty. I don’t wear underwear with a swimsuit.

My underwear keep the rest of my loose fitting workout wear from getting swampy. I can’t stand wearing anything tight fitting, ever. Even most of my swimsuits aren’t majorly clingy (most of mine are tankini tops with skirted bottoms) although they are all lined in the important places. The thought of wearing leggings (with or without underwear) to work out in makes me cringe just thinking of how bad they would crawl up my crack. No thank you!
