Here’s hoping it’s a mild case.

He has access to the best of care and I wish him an easy go of it.
But I also feel like EVERYONE who managed to avoid it for the past 2 years is now part of the Summer Class of 22 Covid.

Prayers that the vaccines and boosters do their job and he has a mild case and recovers quickly.

According to the news he has a light case and is quarantining. I still think we're all gonna get it, at some point.

I knew it was only a matter of time until he did. Hopefully he will have a mild case. He's in pretty good physical condition for a guy his age, so I feel like that works in his favor. I have managed to avoid it so far and feel like as soon as I go back to school I am going to get it.

Home tests said negative, but I quarantined anyway. Jeremy was sick too. I think we had it, but we will never know. I think everyone's going to get it.

This variant is much more contagious, they say.
The people I know who have it (lately) have all been boosted and vaxed. ....also very sick. My sister had it and was very ill for 10 days. 2 friends are very ill. Woman said she has lost 10 lbs. because of the virus and she has been sick for a week.

So far, I am in that group of not having contracted it. Same here. I have been noticing an uptick in people wearing masks again out in public places. If it wasn’t 100 freaking degrees here I probably would be starting back up myself.

I'm one of those who had managed to avoid it but got it in July 2022. I'm vaccinated and one booster and took Paxlovid and was really only sick one day.

Here is to a mild case. At least we won't be left in the dark if he is faking anything like orange cheese.
Around here it is the kids and teens who are coming down with this new variant. Children's is getting full and several friends kids are really sick. One could be admitted today if things don't improve.
Of course they all travel and what not and never wear a mask.
2.5 years in and no covid here. We still wear masks 8nside and outside in large groups.

Hoping for a mild case for the President. I had the Omicron variant in December, sick for a few days but not too terrible. I’m hearing about lots of folks getting this new variant, and I am a bit worried about going back to school in August. I may be wearing a mask, but nobody else will, and I’ll be up close to 250+ primary school kids while cashiering at the computer. Sigh….

I am praying for him. I caught it in February and immediately got on Paxlovid but was still very sick for five days. I think Paxlovid is what helped me turn the corner. Does anyone know if it works for this new variant? I have not looked into it. I am also wondering if the monoclonal antibodies are working on it. It seems like I saw something on TV that said they were less effective but I may be wrong. I guess I need to brush up on the new treatments if there are any.

We have been masking steadily for over two years and managed to avoid it.
My husband tested positive after developing some symptoms two weeks ago. Not sure where or how he got it, but people don’t wear masks around here and hack and cough in public. Probably standing in line at a store.
We immediately started spending more time outside, masked at home, increased ventilation in the house with fans, ran HEPAs, and he has been sleeping on the couch. Our house is too small to truly isolate him. One bathroom. His doctor prescribed Paxlovid. It seemed like it helped, but I think he also had a milder case. Mostly fatigue, nasal congestion and cough. No fever.
Our son did not get it. Neither did I. I really can’t with the cancer treatment and PT. I had to have a PCR test on Sunday for a swallow study Wednesday. Negative. Whew! And the swallow study was normal!!

This was me and my DH. We had it a month ago. I felt like we had made it through the woods and then WHAM! But I agree, he will have the best of care.

We will never know. Seems like everyone I know who hasn't had it yet is getting it this go round.

But I thought masks worked!!!!! So if he had his mask on every time he was out in public, he wouldn't have gotten it? And yes...everyone will eventually get it. My big whoop was that biden got it. Big whoop.

But he wears a mask and was vaxed and boosted...... big whoop, everyone is going to get it. Well I don’t think it is “big whoop” but I do believe that many more people will be getting it, including those that are very careful and those that have had it. Unfortunately you don’t know how your body will react to it, whether you (general you) believe in long Covid or that it will, doesn’t or won’t affect anyone healthy. I think, while low, that % is a good number of people who will have their lives changed in a flash. Far more than some other things that are feared. IMO There is such a thing as a healthy fear and it should not be ignored …or at least should not be categorized as a big whoop.

I have been very careful--vaccinated and masked for ages. I got it in May. Thankfully it was a light case. I am glad the president has a light case. I've heard of a lot of people that test negative, but when they use a different test, they test positive.
