The one trip I've made to Phoenix, it was 104 and that was miserable. I can't imagine. We are to be in the mid-90's this weekend in western NC. We had some days like that already in June. It's unpleasant but as long as it keeps raining every couple of days, I won't complain.

I am more and more convinced that I want solar power sooner rather than later.!
DH doesn’t think the payoff is there yet for us. We only have two companies licensed in the state to do the install, so there is little competition to bring the prices down. He also wants to wait until we need a new roof.
Thanks to a recent hail storm, we might be meeting his second criteria. I also think we might be getting another licensed contractor who can do the install, so that might help on the price.
If we do take the plunge next year, I want to go all in and get the battery back up system. I don’t want to have to rely on the power grid if these extreme weather events are here to stay (and I think they are!).
