Good morning.
This will be very quick, because the delivery guys are almost here w/our Sleep Number bed. I'm so excited. I can make a dh taco if he snores. hehe. I've been helping ds get ready to move and I've been doing my puzzle, too. Dinner is up in the air. I may do turkey burgers or an IP soup. I'll see what dh and ds want.

Today I will continue to organize my Ireland pictures and get them ordered from Costco. Since the house is all discombobulated because of moving stuff for the tile/carpet cleaning, I'm going through things and offering them on BuyNothing on Facebook. I've already had 5 people pick up stuff from our porch. What I loved giving away was several years of old Good Housekeeping magazines instead of sending them to the recycle bin. scrapmaven, yay for the new bed and being able to *taco* DH!! Dinner will be pork chops. TGIF and stay cool!  |

we have leftovers for dinner.. I am making myself go to the basement today and tackle something.. anything. and my dishwasher is not cleaning some of the dishes.. so I have to try a few things.
I sorted my dad's pictures again last night (only the prints) and separated out the pictures of my brother and his family. will drop them off later in the summer.

We are actually going to have a meal cooked here tonight - the first in our new apartment. DH bought a couple of whole fish home when he came back from the hardware store and he will cook them on the grill. He also bought a tub of coleslaw and we have a couple of potatoes he can slice up and cook as well.
Unpacking continues apace. I have now done nearly all of my clothes and the kitchen is almost fully functional. We still haven't finished a few small things there, like all the herbs and spices. DH spent the day at the old place - first he met with our old landlord and agreed what needs to be done by the cleaning crew next week. He also took a few loads of junk to the dump and brought over the flowerpots that survived the cull.

Hi. I had a hard time getting going this morning but I've made it to the doctor. I've been sitting waiting to be seen for half hour. My blood pressure has been really high lately and I think I need some medication for it. I'm not quite sure what I will do this afternoon. I have work to do but I'm just having a hard time today. I might work tomorrow instead. Or a little bit tomorrow and a little bit on Sunday. I thought maybe I would scrapbook this weekend. I'm unsure. We will see. I always feel like I need a whole day to drag out all that stuff. But I guess it wouldn't harm anyone if I brought it all out and then just left it on my dining room table for a week so I could work at it a little bit at a time. There's no rules that say I must clean up after myself, right?  I got a Home Chef box yesterday. I decided after the discussion the other day to just pause the boxes for a while because I was being wasteful. But this box was already on its way so I will hopefully use it and cook something tonight. |

Enjoy your new bed scrapmaven! I'm soooo jealous! I may buy a new mattress when I move ... I have no plans today ... hardly slept at all last night so a nap will definitely be happening later  I think I'll order pork dumplings for dinner tonight because I cooked last night and I know that I probably won't want to cook tonight  |

Hi Everyone, scrapmaven It’s so exciting to get a new bed. I hope that you love sleeping in it. Your DS is very lucky that you are helping him. cadoodlebug I use to love ordering my prints from Costco. It was so easy. Your meme is so true. It’s another hot one today. ntsf I hope that you get your dishwasher working better. sueg Fresh fish sounds delicious. jeremysgirl I hope that the doctor figures out what is going on with you. This morning, I had a tough time waking up. Today is MIL’s 94th birthday, so both of my boys are driving down to surprise her with flowers. They wanted to go alone, so DH and I are staying home. The dog is at the groomers and I have to get going on more decluttering. Dinner last night ended up being spaghetti. ODS loved it. But I could only eat the noodles with butter. I miss it. |

Out very early to get my walk in. I was able to enjoy a lovely sunrise! Amazingly, we've dodged the worst of this heatwave until now. Starting today it's getting really hot.
Cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed. That's all that will get done today. The closer I get to the end of my summer, the less motivated I am.
Dinner will be salmon and a salad.

DH is in charge of dinner...his idea, he decided that I don't need to cook in the 90+ degree heat...so he is getting antipasto salads from a local place that makes good ones!!
This has been a week of setting up appts for DH's pre op labs, EKG and covid test....he has a busy week next week when you add in his annual physical, and his surgery on friday.
scrapmaven...I want a sleep number bed...in a king size!!! Just sayin....Lucky You!!!!
cadoodlebug...you have a Costco that still does photo's??? Ours stopped several years ago😢
ntsf...I vote for a cool July day....anytime!!!
jeremys girl...Good Idea to get the BP under control....hope your wait isn't unbearable!

cadoodlebug...you have a Costco that still does photo's??? Ours stopped about a year ago but I order them online and they are mailed to me. I usually have them in 3-4 business days. Not as convenient as picking them up an hour later but still worth it. 11 cents for 4x6's. |

Happy Friday.... scrapmaven How exciting about the Sleep Number bed!! We have often thought about ordering one of those....I need it firm and dh prefers soft. It will be the perfect solution but, I cant sleep a wink if dh is snoring so I end up migrating to another part of the house. I start in our room and you never know where I will be in the morning!!  I can't wait to hear your real life review on this!! The painting continues at Kaits....I am hoping this will be the last weekend of it. I am sick of painting and we are both sore!! Hopefully dad (dh) wont have to work this weekend and he can lend a painting hand!! jeremysgirl You know what makes my blood pressure rise? Waiting past my appointment time to get in to see the doctor!!  Hopefully you didn't have to wait long and the doctor is going to get you all fixed up! ntsf did you try cleaning out the filter? My sister showed me how to do that and I was horrified at what was in it!! Not sure what is for dinner tonight. Maybe pizza? |

jeremysgirl , Your doctor will fix you up w/the right treatment for bp. You've been under extraordinary stress and you might need something temporary, only. You're great at taking care of yourself. On another note, which coffee maker did you buy? I bought the IP Pod on Prime Day and so far it's great. karenlou , The bed is a California Split King. Just an fyi, as a first responder you should get a $900 discount on the bed. That applies to teachers, first responders and military families. Just saying... I'll pray that your dh's surgery goes well and that he has a comfortable, smooth recovery. destined2bmom , Happy Birthday to your mil. Wow. She's old. My mil is only 93.  I hope that you're feeling better than you were this am.
The Birdhouse Lady, we didn't get the feature that allows you to adjust your spouse's side of the bed if they're snoring, because I am an ANGRY person when I'm awakened and a very light sleeper. Dh would also be mad if I adjusted his mattress. However, they do have that feature if you want to add it. Unfortunately! I'll review it after a week or 2. Right now it's settling, so we can't test it, yet.

Good afternoon. I'm having a hard time getting into the groove after my long weekend. Oregon was beautiful, and the weather was great. We went to the beach one afternoon. The water is very cold, but the sand was fine and beautiful for strolling and beach combing. It was great to spend time with girl friends.
Tonight we are supposed to cook chicken, but I'm not excited. I've got rechauffe Greek salad, and plenty else in this fridge. Lacking the will to cook!

I was the very last patient before lunch and I know I ran into her lunch hour too but she was so very kind. My doc really is the best. Believe it or not, my blood pressure was lower today than it has been the past two weeks. But she was like, do you have any symptoms? And I was like, well, I've had a headache for 3 months now...not sure which problem that is an indicator of. But I realized the other day I need to get my health back in order. I made an appointment with my psychiatrist for Monday after I couldn't peel myself out of bed on Tuesday. On another note, which coffee maker did you buy? I bought the IP Pod on Prime Day and so far it's great. I bought the Capresso machine Darcy recommended. It was the combination of having freshly ground beans and being able to make just two cups of coffee up to a 10 cup pot of coffee that sold me. |

She did write me a script. In another life, Jeremy used to be an EMT. He's got a cuff and stethoscope so he's been taking my pressure. She told me to continue to have him monitor it with the medicine. |

Hello all. Happy weekend! (At least for me since I have Friday afternoons off!). My half work day week was a success. Felt like a relaxing time to do more in the afternoons but didn’t get behind at work since I was there each day. I’ll do that again.
Dinner tonight is chicken fajitas or leftovers -tbd - and then the other will be dinner tomorrow.

Do it jeremysgirl! If that will help your mental health then try it. I like to get in the office before anyone else when I am stressed or need to get a lot done. I get so much more accomplished. I can then enjoy an afternoon off. |

Is it bedtime yet? I can't wait to hop into my new bed w/my tablet. I know that screens are bad at bedtime, but I read on my tablet, because I don't want to have to wait to get a book. When I want to read it's great to download a book and go for it. At any rate, something as simple as a new, comfy bed is a reminder that despite a health issue here or there I'm truly blessed. Think of the little things that make your life better and focus on that. Gratitude trumps depression any day!

Congratulations on the move and getting settled in so smoothly, sueg! Congratulations to your DS, scrapmaven! I'm glad he can put the job hunting behind him and focus on getting settled and ready for his first classroom. We are back home from the vacation that didn't go quite as expected. Before visiting my mom in her care home we have to do an antigen test and I thought DH was making a bad joke when he said "why does mine have 2 lines"  . Yup, DH tested positive. So no opportunity for me to see mom and I had to call my dad(93) to cancel lunch, which was harder as he was expecting and looking forward to the visit. I also had to call everyone we'd been at an island cabin with, DD and a few others potentially exposed. We quarantined him and isolated but given that no one else tested positive, I'm thinking he was past the contagious stage when we did the test. He was asymptomatic the whole time and only tested positive for 2 days. Other than this little hiccup, we had a great trip with time on the ocean and at a beautiful mountain lake that reminded me a bit of your Austrian vacation, sueg.   We ate lots of great food of course. Our friends have added a pizza oven to the cabin so we had a make-your-own pizza night where everyone created and shared. My popular concoction included nectarines, shrimp, fresh picked crab and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. I thought of you AussieMeg as we took DH to a Mexican restaurant for their lamb shank (served with tortillas).   I'm not sure what will be for dinner tonight as the fridge is pretty bare and DS has done a great job cleaning out the freezer. A trip to Trader Joe's is on the agenda this afternoon. It could be fish or shrimp tacos with a slaw . . . |

I don’t have much left in my kitchen right now. I’m using that as an excuse for not cooking🤫 even though I could make a few things. I haven’t been to Costco in 2 months and have been eating up what is in the freezer with just an occasional trip to the grocery store to buy vegetables.
Tonight, I had my mind set on sushi from this place close to my house. I have a copy of their menu and planned out tonight’s dinner and tomorrow’s lunch and dinner. I headed out with my list only to find them closed 😥. I know I could just go to another sushi place, but I decided to just go to anything in that same shopping center. There was a Subway a few doors down so I’m having a sandwich. I had them pack it full of veggies so that it is not so terrible for me. I had them sprinkle vinegar and no oil or mayo on it. I did get cheese because I can’t skimp on all the good stuff, right? I will eat half tonight and the other half for lunch tomorrow. Or breakfast if I get hungry.

thanks for suggestion on filter.. but I clean it out every week or two.. easy peasy.
i'm not sure it is a real problem.. or it is just one stubborn pot. so just going to watch it. and throw through a run with vinegar.
the dishwasher has done a good job up to this.
