I mostly own border punches and definitely go through phases of using them on every page and forgetting to use them for months. I prefer punches over dies for the ease of use, and am usually too lazy to pull out my cameo for just one cut like this.

I don't have a huge punch collection, but I have a good selection of circle punches, a couple scalloped circles, some SU tag toppers, some nested hearts and a couple border punches. I used them on almost every single layout. Especially the circles and the tags. They make great cluster bases.
I could do all of this on my Silhouette, but the punches are just so much faster that unless I have my machine out already I just won't bother and will make my punches work instead.

I use specific punches sparingly. I recently actually bought a punch, a CM ice skate. Obvious uses. So I went down a rabbit hole looking for that skate punch. It is discontinued, but of course CM has some other cool punches. Border punches with dinner plates/cutlery, and one with midway rides, and... And they had some of them on sale... Still no skate. But I remembered seeing a skate die in a Spellbinders email. Found it. Ordered it. And THEY had a sale... I told my Visa to stop sniveling...

I have lots of punches. I got three more today. I seem to pick up a few every time I go to my local second hand craft store. They are usually $1-4. Today I got a small candle punch, a border punch, and an owl punch. I base my purchasing on do I have this already not so much do I need it. I use punches on most of my pages.
