I have an absolutely huge amount of punches, partly because I was a rabid Tuesday Morning shopper (back when they had scrapbook supplies) and they always had a bunch cheap, so I grabbed them.
I love punches because they are so easy. I forget about them, though, if I don't have them laying out. I really need to use them more.
Besides the circle, hexagon, star, basic shape ones, etc., I have a couple very specific ones that I love: an octopus and a deer. I love every layout I've done with those.
I know a lot of people use Cricuts and manual machines with dies, but does anyone still go old school?

I use punches on many layouts - I don't have a ton - a few circles, a hexagon, a snowflake, a dragonfly (which I've had forever...probably 20 yrs), and a small heart and I recently got a banner punch. I would like a star or two

I have a butterfly and a leaf punch that I just love. I also have a button punch that I used to love, but I haven't used it in awhile now.

I have mostly corner punches because they're one of the few things a punch does more easily than a die cutting machine, and some basic small circles that live near my crafting area. My only real gripe with manual punches is that they're just so darn big and hard to store in any reasonable fashion.
Other than the few top shelf punches (basic rounded corner in a few sizes, and the two circles), most of them don't get pulled out and used often.

I am addicted to really like punches. I am so bad, that when I read kate's button comment, I immediately Googled button punches. I love the Martha Stewart one on Ebay, but I'm not willing to pay almost $40 ($29 plus tax and shipping) for a used punch. I especially am addicted to really like border punches. The Martha Stewart and Creative Memories border punches are my favorites. Whenever I get a new punch, I punch a sample on cheap solid cardstock and glue it onto a sample sheet that goes in a binder, separated by type. (I do the same with new dies)

Hardly every. I use my corner rounder occasionally. But, the only other punches I have kept are a few circles, squares and one large tag punch.

I have a lot of punches. Like A LOT. However, I don’t use them so they aren’t even in my scrap area (currently it is a very small space). The exception is my circle punches which I use very often. And one big square. I do have a couple large flowers and a tag in my room that I occasionally use, too.

I have 2 border punches, 1 corner rounder punch, and my crop-a-dile. That is it. I use the punches mainly on cards. I haven't used them for a layout in forever.

I have a fair number of punches and use them quite a lot, especially for common shapes that I'm not going to bother cutting on my Silhouette Cameo. I keep the most-used basic ones on my desktop (corner-rounder, 2 different tag shapes, circle, scalloped oval) but ALL my punches are within easy reaching distance. I just reorganized them to group them a bit more by theme, so they're even easier to get to. So yes, I do use punches a LOT - I'd say ~more than 2/3 of my layouts have one or more punched shapes. I most recently purchased a small banner punch and I use it so much that I now want a larger one - there is a 3-size one on sale now that I have my eye on ( LINK). However, to buy it (at a store I mostly dislike), I'd want to put more items in my cart to reach the free shipping limit, so it may not be worth it. Might just buy it outright and suck it up for the shipping...I'll at least check out what else is on sale.

Margie - Yes, I have the MS button punch! I can assure you that I did NOT pay $40 for it, though. Yikes. scrappinwithoutpeas, SU has a banner punch - it's a little pricier than the one you linked, but maybe you can find it used? I forgot that my corner rounder is a punch LOL. I use that thing all the time. And I have a couple of border punches I like, too, though I use dies more often.

I have soooo many punches and while I use dies more often, I do use my punches semi-regularly. Doesn't help that I have a lot of SU and love the sets that have matching punches, but I prefer punching out something that was stamped rather than plain, unless it's basic shapes or labels.
If you need a storage idea, I have 4 Ikea HULTARP rails on my wall (plus 2 more to install, as they are all full!) and they work awesome for storing punches, both the whale tail or lock flat styles!

I use circle and scalloped edge circle punches to make journaling spots all the time. I use my tag punch all the time, too. They are just so easy to grab and use.

I LOVE punches. I mostly have basic shapes and tags. I do have small EK Success paper shapers too. I used my Christmas light punch on the last page I made. The string is from a metal die. I made tags for my mom to add to prizes at our family reunion and used my Idaho punch.

I have tiny banner punches from EK
I have a alpha stamp set with a banner punch I should use more often too. I can't remember the brand, I got it at Tuesday Morning.

Decorative ones, not often. But corner, hole, circle and tab punches, pretty often.

As a card maker, I love punches! I, too, bought quite a few from Tuesday Morning. Sadly my TM now only has about 10 ft of crafts & sewing combined.
I recently purchased a Cricut Joy and I’m really enjoying cutting basic shapes in the exact size that I need. My punches are not getting much use, but not ready to part with them.

I love punches, they are so much easier than dealing with my Silhouette. You just grab and punch! Saying that, I don't have many because they were always a little out of my budget in the years I did the majority of my scrapbook shopping. I have 3 sizes of circles to layer, a couple of border punches and 2 or 3 other basic ones. I don't use them all the time because I often worry my pages will look too similar but when I do use them I am very happy with how things turn out. I want to get a set of hexagons next.

I have hundreds of them. I used to work in a scrapbook store and we carried all the EK Success punches in all the sizes and I got a great discount on them and I always used Michael's and Hobby Lobby coupons to collect the punches they carried. I just used a bunch today. My grandson is making a scrapbook for his soon to be twin brothers and we are presenting it to his mom at her baby shower soon. He made a page for each month for most of their first milestones, family Birthdays, Holidays etc. He used my punches, drew on some and cut his own shapes out by hand. It turned out so beautiful.

Thanks, refugeepea and kate! The SU punch looks great - I really like the versatility of it, but it's definitely more than I want to pay. The EK banner punch makes slightly smaller banners than the one I already have, and I'm really looking for one that makes larger banner sizes. My current one makes 7/8" x 1/2" banner pieces and the HL one I ended up ordering ( banner punch) has 1.5", 2", & 2.5", plus all their punches are on sale right now (40%) so it was more affordable. If I need any more sizes, I'll have to use my Silhouette for them. I do use my Cameo for a lot, but punches are so convenient for a lot of things!

Punches- How often do you use them? ... I know a lot of people use Cricuts and manual machines with dies, but does anyone still go old school? Yes; In addition to a Sizzix Big Kick & Sidekick, I regularly use punches for basic shapes (e.g. corner, circle, label, tab, star, heart, hexagon, hole reinforcer) & borders (e.g. binding, round binding, upper crest).

Punches - aren't they great?! I have 4 or 5 border punches that I really love and use fairly often. As for shapes, I don't have many and would like to buy a few more, especially a large & medium star. The ones that I have that are used the most are a large heart, 3 or 4 circle punches, a file tab, and a large photo corner. The only die cut machine I have is an older Big Kick (still works great) that I use mostly for alphas.

I use my corner rounder punch more than any other.
Second is circle punches, especially a 3" scallop circle from marvy Uchida, and a couple of smaller ones from CTMH. And the Marvy heart punch. If I had a butterfly punch that worked without sticking and ripping the paper, I might use it, but I have lots of butterfly dies. And I have cute camera punch from CM that I use from time to time when I think of it.
I sometimes use one of my collection of border punches. I like the look of them, but don't think of them when edging a paper. I am more likely to cut or tear to size. Most of mine are SU! and Martha Stewart, but prob my most used is the simple Fiskar's scallop. My really like the look of the edges punched right around the page with a coordinated MS corner punch, but can never get everything lined up correctly.
Least used are my WRMK Lucky 8 border punches. They are easy to use once I lift them down, and I like the look, but don't often use a bracket edge for a large mat.

I have quite a few punches, mostly SU. A lot of them match stamp sets I own. I really need to use them more, they just haven't been stored in a convenient place. I organized and moved them a few weeks ago to be nearer to my desk so I have no excuses anymore. This layout from Paige Evans really made me want to use my border punches again: www.paigetaylorevans.com/2022/05/sweet-smile-layout-by-paige-evans.html

I use specific punches sparingly. I recently actually bought a punch, a CM ice skate. Obvious uses. A friend gave me a puzzle piece punch I will use on some pages of DGD doing puzzles.
I like some border punches and when I can get a friend to punch some for me I use them. Like CM has a plate and silverware border punch I got some of and plan to use it at my next crop.

I have what I think is an average number of punches- - around 80 - and I use a punch on almost every layout. I love the convenience of being able to punch a tiny scrap of paper and not have to load up the Cricut, Big Shot, or Cameo. Some of my favorites are circles, stars, butterflies, labels, arrows, and flowers.
