I've ordered the 100lb white Hammermill cardstock that Jennifer M recommends for hot foiling. Both times Amazon sent me 80 lb instead.
Besides this Hammermill cardstock, what other cardstock have you found works well for hot foiling? I see Spellbinders has some, but man it's pricey (not that the Hammermill was cheap).

I like to use Michaels 110lb cardstocks, works really well. Good price point and they go on sale often.
I think most cardstocks I've tried work well with hot foil. You have to play around with the thickness of the layers so the foil will stick.
I found putting another layer of cardstock along with the plastic cover gives a nice result. It depends on how thick your cardstock is. But I found it's a very trial and error process.

I think the 80 lb should work fine, as long as it is smooth. Any type of texture will affect the look, but unless you are looking for deep debossing, you should be able to foil on any weight.

I use the 80lb Hammermill & it works great! Originally I was using the Hamilco White Semi Gloss Cardstock Paper 80 lb Cover Card Stock but it seems to be out of stock & I can't find it anywhere online right now.

Thanks...the 80 lb doesn't feel thick enough for what I would like to use it for. I'd like to be able to use it for card bases as well as foiling, so my whites match.
I'll try it on my Neenah this weekend.

I haven’t tried it personally, but Yupo paper is supposed to be great for hot foiling.

Bumping this thread up to see if anyone has any other recommendations? I would love to just buy ONE cardstock that would do it all, but I do find the Hammermill is better for foiling so far. Any other suggestions of anything similar? Thanks 🙏

Any other suggestions of anything similar? Thanks 🙏 I haven't done hot foiling, but I have decided for now that Hammermill can be my one default cardstock. It's good enough for card bases (I've had trouble getting 110 Neenah and decided that I don't really need bases to be that sturdy). I don't do much coloring but as far as I can tell it seems to be good for almost all of the cardmaking I do.

Neenah Solar White was my go-to for many years but I like the Hammermill better, plus it's much less expensive.
