Not talking about my cocktails I drink on scrapbook retreats- mimosas, mules, coffee with Kalua... And we eat tons of food. I love my scrapbook retreats.
How often do you use food and beverages on your layouts?
As I mentioned a few times, I use beer papers a lot. I'm always meeting friends at breweries. I've been known to use pizza and other food like that on my nephews' pages. For awhile there pretzels were in a bunch of lines and I thought "how am I going to use those"? And then I found old photos when I took my nephews to the mall and ate Auntie Anne's. Perfect! I now have a pretzel layout.
I haven't yet used the Obed Marshall papers- he has one with cereal and Pop-tarts, and one with brunch food. I love them, though. So pretty and fun. I'm definitely going to have to dig up photos for those.
And then, of course, following scrapbooking's habit of putting random objects in lines, we went through quite a few trends: pineapples, avocados, donuts, popsicles, etc.
So have you used food or beverages on your layouts? Which lines with food did you like? What food is easy to use and what food is difficult? Is there any food you would like to see more of?

How often do you use food and beverages on your layouts? All the time! I try and buy good food related (particularly cooking) paper/kits when I can. There are a few older lines that I am scouting that have spice labels, ect on them. DS is a Food Chemistry/Food Science major and I have been taking pics of his food projects for years, he has also participated in a few cooking competitions, so I have those too. I don't try and look for a particular food though, just good general cooking paper. It's hard to find ones that aren't vintage though.

I’m so glad you mentioned the OM brunch food paper. I bought it and forgot about it but I have brunch pics that would be perfect for it.
I do use food themed supplies on my layouts. So much of our lives revolve around food. Cooking, gathering together, traditions, and so much more. I like to document all that fun stuff. I especially like summer food themed supplies. I’m always a sucker for them.

I've used beer-themed embellishments on travel layouts (Germany, Ireland) and wine-themed paper on pages about winery visits or wine tasting. I've also used candy & chocolate-themed paper on pages about visits to the Jelly Belly factory, Ghiradelli, and Hershey's Chocolate World. Maybe a birthday cake or cupcake on a birthday page, or cookies on a Christmas-cookie page. Hot cocoa, coffee, or tea embellishments on winter pages; lemonade or iced-tea on summer pages.
Outside of that, I don't typically use much else in the way of food-themed paper or embellishments, because if I'm doing a page that has a lot of food photos, I don't want the background to distract from the photos.
I don't tend to buy a lot of overly themed paper in general, so I'm probably not the target audience of the manufacturers that make those papers and embellishments, anyway.

I took a picture of my meal one time a posted it on FB. My kids made so much fun of me for doing that (prior to the influencer age) that now I only take photos of those things if a person is attached.

I have used food photos in my layouts.
Usually it's a page about.... lunch date with Niece, dinner with friends, treat (caramel apple, funnel cake, greasy fries, etc..) at the festival, splurging on fancy dessert, barbeque gathering, first time having Crumbl cookies(the gimmick >> pink box), etc....
I haven't scrapbooked it yet, but I have taken several photos, when I do my food prep (make a huge portion of a couple-few different things, so I can freeze individual portions.
I have a "food-eating out" 13 x 13 envelope. I know I have stuff from Reminisce, Stamperia, Karen Foster, etc... I'd have to look through it to see what other brands I have.
Food wise. I have more than enough barbeque, cocktails-drinks, coffee-hot tea type products.
I would love more of: Eating out in general Restaurants and fast food Festival and fair foods Fancy desserts (crazy shake, skillet cookies, fancy sundaes) I would love a set of foam stickers, that said >> eating out, restaurant, dining out, lunch, dinner, fancy dessert, drive thru, dessert first, etc...

mostly baking related I think - maybe Thanksgiving
I did use pineapples when scrapbooking places like Newport RI and Mystic CT - they're a symbol of hospitality

Hardly ever. Not even for the Disneyland album I made when dd, dh, and I went when she was 2. Characters yes, food? No.
I have used a mug on a pocket card for DD.
Used a to go coffee cup embellishment on a pocket card for the visit dd and I took to a fun coffee shop.
Oh and a baby bottle on a layout for both dd and ds.
I think that is it.

I wish there were restaurant themed paper, like not one specific cuisine but different basic foody icons. Maybe that is out there but I don't know.
I made a fruit/veggie themed album for my niece's first year baby mini-album

artbabe you have fantastic questions! I use food and beverages often but only on pages where food and beverages are in the photos. I went to a retreat and only took cooking and food related product. I worked on nothing but food photos of DGD. Her with her kitchen, with her tea set, eating, restaurants, picnics, parties. Lots and lots of photos of food and beverages. And I didn't even get to scrap all of them!

I use food icons when it has a connection to my photos. I will buy baking related papers if I really like them, but honestly I gravitate towards papers that just have neat orderly rows of cutlery which I can then use on eating out or eating at home pages. I am not a fan of all the random fruit or takeaway coffee cups, or hot chocolate mugs as I don't typically take photos where they would fit well. I used several pieces of fruit on a pocket page I made during the early days of covid about our supermarket being largely empty, and I used up some of the coffee and tea icons on a brunch page, but I typically struggle with these.
I have a small number of food themed stamps that I reach for instead and find those much more versatile for the pages I make.

I love scrapbooking food, but generally only think to take photos if it is a holiday meal or from vacation. That being said, I do not often buy food themed embellishments. I much prefer to save a food related item from the event itself and scrapbook that.
For example, I have scrapped the box from my birthday cupcake, menus from restaurants, coffee cup sleeves, receipts, little bags the food came in, really anything that catches my eye.

My grandson loves to cook, so I use them often. I should take a photo of him with the fresh peaches he asked to get today. There is a little market here with the best peaches. Today was the first day they were available.
Twin Cities Peas, it's Bob's Produce in Fridley.

No such luck. My youngest son (26) says the worst part about being an adult is that he has to be in charge of meals now. His wife is going to PA school and she is gone all of the time.

Lol, I tried to steer my DS away from being a chef, it is such a hard job, really hard on your body and they just bust their butts 12-16 hrs a day...and Food Network/celeb chef's make it look so enticing! I was very pleased when he decided to go to school for food science because what he really wants to do is research and development. He still loves to cook though-but not clean the kitchen!

Again, I tend to fit in images related to my themes.
Baking related pages with cookies or chocolate. Cakes on birthday pages. Cookies and gingerbread houses on Christmas pages.
Steaming mugs on winter pages and Christmas cards. The occasional take out cup on a road trip page.
Beer or coffee or wine on birthday cards depending on someone's interests.
Vegetable images on papers I use for scrapping my garden.

My second grade "chef" turned into an engineer. He is a bit of a foodie, but he doesn't like to make it. He's of the opinion that if he stirred it, it is homemade. He will check the potatoes and stuffing at Thanksgiving and expect everyone give him credit for cooking.

950nancy, love the story about your engineer son. Maybe stirring is considered engineering support. I'll use food related items if my l/o is cooking/eating related. And I used quite a bit making a small recipe book. Confession: I still have a couple of sheets of the old PaperPizzaz food papers - chocolate chips and mac'n'cheese. Don't judge.

I always take pictures of the meals we eat on vacation and on holidays. My DD9 loves to bake and help in the kitchen so I've been using food-related papers/embellishments for those layouts. They work well in some PL/WITL spreads too.

I have some food lines, but was primarily using them for a cookbook project where my mom and I were organizing our family recipes into small scrapbooks. I have lots of coffee photos, so will use coffee lines, and I have some pretzels and beer saved for my trip to Germany. I will use them when they are connected to the photo.
I specifically bought the cereal paper from October Afternoon's Saturday Morning to do a layout for which I don't have any photos. When I was a child, we used to go camping and my parents would buy my brother and me those small packages of cereal that came in the little individual boxes. Because it was a mix pack, it was the only time we got sugary cereal. I have such fond memories of those little boxes of cereal that I want to tell the story and the paper reminds me so much of it.

I can't believe we have the same memory.

I remember they came in a 9 pack (or was it a 12 pack?) all stacked together and wrapped in plastic? Such a fun, exciting display for a child! I remember being so excited when my dad showed me how to cut open the box and pour the milk right in. <off to google "cereal" scrapbook paper for my next layout> ETA: And to answer the OP, I can only think of a couple of times that I've used food papers on a layout: A chocolate chip background about my daughter and her bestie baking a cake, a strawberry background about baby daughter and her love of strawberry yogurt, and bottles of Pepsi (had to google images from the 'net) about a unique pop dispenser machine we discovered while on vacation.

I am more likely to use a food themed stamp, diecut or paper piecing than food themed paper.
I did use chocolate themed paper for Hershey park And I once used popcorn paper as a background. I did get doodlebugs 6x6 fall pad last year with coffee cups & donuts so I’ve used that in my memory planner
But I rarely buy or think to use food themed papers. But I don’t really have a reason not to either.

Oh, I am going to add that to my camping pages! My mom bought us those, too. We also each got to pick 2 cans of pop to take with. They were 10 for $1 back then and there were 5 of us. ETA - I am amazed how many of us have the same memory. How fun.
