Good morning peas! It has been almost 3 weeks since I scrapped. I was glad to have a goal this week to get a page done and share a sketch. This is a SCREEN GRAB from a recent Shimelle video. shimelle sketch screen grab by kirstendrew, on Flickr I have added the black so it's a little clearer. This idea is a 1/3-2/3 division of papers, then several doo-dads/labels/tags leading from upper left through the title and down to bottom right. I'd love to share her version, but it was part of a class so I didn't feel right screen grabbing it? Here is my version: I flipped the sketch on it's side since my photos were oriented differently. I very much copied shimelle: the scalloped border between the papers, some bigger shapes and journalling added in where the original items were sketched. This is Echo Park paper, a couple of Echo Park stickers, and lots of Cocoa Vanilla die cuts. I really encourage you to try this one - it was an "easy" way to put together a page and I got it done in 2 hours (which for me is FAST). layout tuff stuff by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Thanks for the sketch, kitbop! Smart to do a screenshot of one of Shimelle’s plans. I love tour take on it, too. And that your ephemera is chunkier than the sketch: gives another option of how to interpret this.

I love your version of this kitbop. I think I want to try this one. My photos are large and my paper size is smaller, so we will see what I can do. Thanks for sharing the sketch. You page is beautiful. I will look more closely in the gallery.

I'm really glad you chose this one kitbop. I started my page for this one back in June and never got around to finishing it. This is the kick up the bum that I need to get it finished. And when I've done that, I'm going to scraplift your take on the sketch, which I love.

kitbop , thank you for this sketch and challenge. I love your page. Your come up with the best die cuts and do dads to make everything fit together beautifully. You have love in the gallery. I did 2 pages mirror images. Mining for Jewels
The striped paper is a pretty blue, just lighter than the die cut diamonds but my scanner didn't like the height of the jewels and glittered title.

nylene - wow, I LOVE how that looks mirrored on the two sides! Your title is a wonderful representation of minecraft and immediately draws attention to those minecraft shirts I'm sure you made! Your title is great, the clusters are brilliant, the background "trellis" die cut adds wonderful texture - this layout is *clever* from start to stop1

Well, I scrapped! Just one but it's done! End of the scrappy desert that is my house LOL. I kinda followed the sketch like it was, but I love how kitbop and nylene turned it on the side! I think there's quite a few ways to look at this sketch! Thanks for the inspiration! I probably should have waited until daylight to take a photo, as the papers are much more colorful than they appear here.

Here is my page. It took ages finding and putting all those little doo-dads on the page! I followed Shimelle's sketch, or should I say, her finished layout, almost exactly.

I didn't seem to find many embellishments for this one but hopefully you can still see the sketch in my simplified version. Journalling is hidden
