Do you use stamps on layouts? If so, please share how you add stamping on your pages. TFS.

I selected rarely, but I have been trying to make more of an effort to use what stamps I have. I usually stamp on white cardstock, then cut around the shape and treat it as a die cut. However, I have been a bit braver as of late and have also started stamping directly on to my layout.

I voted sometimes. I like to stamp tiny words and confetti in my clusters. I am not counting my date stamp. If I did, it would be every layout. Bottom right corner will always have my date stamp.

I think I stamp on almost all my projects. Mostly the titles and word phrase stamps are most used.

I do try to add stamping to my layouts. I usually add some word stamps, and if I have an icon that matches, I add that too.
If I'm using an icon stamp, sometimes it goes near the title or up top on the page (ie cloud stamps, or sun stamps), other times in an embellishment cluster. I usually just stamp right on the page.
What is funny about this, is that almost all of my stamps I have, have been purchased with the intent of "Oh, what a good value, I can use this stamp set again and again on layouts, what a great value!" I've come to realize that's a lie I tell myself to justify purchasing the stamp set. So I've slowed way down on buying stamps (but did pick up a cute set with seashells lately, as small seashell stickers seem to be hard to find!!!!)

I try to stamp something on every layout... sometimes it's only a teeny tiny heart but that counts.
I have a stack of layouts that won't go into albums until I try to find someway to include a stamp on there. Most of the time, I can find some way to fit one in.
I almost never stamp titles though...

Not nearly as much as I should, considering the size of my stamp and ink stashes!
i sometimes like to play with stamps and inks to do backgrounds. Especially autumn pages.
I need to dig out my date stamp again. I was in a habit of stamping the date on every page before I lost it, and by the time I found it I was out of the habit again.

I do sometimes- I’d like to do it more. I don’t have a huge selection of stamps. Here is an example of one where I used a fern stamp on card stock. I like how it turned out. I was walking in a city park and came this close to 2 deer. It was crazy. I've seen lots of forests critters on my walks but never a deer this close.

Almost all the time. Most frequently (always) I stamp the date on my pages. I will frequently use images on colored cardstock with Versamark or matching colored ink to create a subtle printed background. Sometimes that patterns on printed paper are too busy or not what I need, so I stamp on cardstock for a more subtle pattern.
I have curated a decent library of phrase/word stamps that will fit almost any layout and use those often in journaling or to add to embellishment clusters. I also have a few stamps that are doodles and scribbles and sewing stitches that I like to use to add texture and detail to layouts, particularly those with a mixed media background or elements. And, I also use stamps to create texture on mixed media backgrounds.
I need to pull out my foam stamps and use them again. I really like them for creating interesting mixed media pieces, but they have been forgotten over the years.

I did little stamping in the last few years. My stamp platform was life changing! Usually it's just words, but I stamp on almost every page.

I was a stamper before I learned to scrapbook, and I often use stamps on my pages, as long as they suit the photos. I haven’t done much scrapbooking lately, and my style definitely isn’t trendy, but I’ll share some of my favorite layouts that I’ve used stamps to create. Mostly I use stamps for embellishment, but when I can’t find background paper that I like, I’ll use stamps to create my background. One of my favorite layouts where the background is stamped is this first one. I’ve shown it in the past, but not only did I stamp the background, the page embellishments are also done with stamps. In this Easter layout, I stamped the background, then used the same stamps for the tags on the opposite page. The stamping for this Halloween layout is mostly on the left page: the witch legs element on the lower left corner is stamped, the phrase is stamped, and the tickets are stamped. The cherry blossoms in the following layout were stamped and fussy cut (in the days before I had a Scan n Cut machine), then glued to the layout. I have also used stamped images as part of a cluster. Whatever your style, though, stamped images can be incorporated into your layouts. You can use a stamped image the same way you would a purchased printed element. I don’t always like the printed embellishments that come with page kits. Most of them simply aren’t a good reflection of my personality. The stamps I’ve bought were chosen because I liked them. I do a lot of card making (which was why I was a stamper before I became a scrapbooker). If my stamps work for both cards and layouts, that is a definite win.

scrapnnana beautiful pages! I can't believe you cut out all those cherry blossoms! artbabe I love the tone on tone stamping on your page. I rarely stamp. I am trying to at lease use my date stamp more frequently. I recently stamped a title and here I stamped the background: Smile often by Christine C68, on Flickr

I'm in the sometimes camp. I am trying to be better about using my wide array of supplies in general, and now find myself thinking mostly of my scrapping when thinking if I want to buy a stamp set or not. Most of my stamp use is the same way I might use ephemera or words/phrase stickers. Sometimes I stamp directly on photos, sometimes in a little bit of paper or a paper embellishment, or other times if there is like a natural spot on say a journaling card I might stick it there. So mostly icons or little phrases. It's almost always just a little embellishment, not a focus.

Rarely. I want to. I really do. But... too scared? too lazy? I don't have many stamps but I would like to use them a little more.
Scrapnnana, what beautiful pages! Your stamping is professional quality. As opposed to my approach: trying to ink the stamp w/o inking my fingers and then trying to get the image on paper before I drop the stamp on the floor.
Artbabe, that is a gorgeous l/o - the fern stamp is perfect.

Christinec68, your stamping looks great with the layered strips. Background stamping is so brave.

I most often stamp words on my pages, things that fit onto tabs or labels or journaling cards, but I also have some sets that have general shapes like tags or labels. I have a couple of alpha sets and will occasionally use those to stamp titles.
I try to keep new stamp sets out on my desk until I've used them several times, and I'll often pull out a set or two as I'm working on PL pages and leave them out as I'm working on that month's pages as a reminder to stamp more often.

I do pocket/PL Scrapping and smaller things like travelers notebook projects. I will use stamps to create some of my own pocket cards to go along with premade ones and for titles. I also use for tabs and as embellishments. Yesterday I used word phrases stamped on wood veneer hearts that I didn’t otherwise love and now with the stamping I love them! Sometimes I’ll use shapes (circles) to make my own backgrounds.

I voted rarely but I actually pulled stamps out tonight inspired by this thread and used them on my layout - I even used coloured (orange) ink not my go-to black

I don't own any stamps, so I voted Never. lol
It's a matter of space, I don't have the room or budget to add more tools and things to my space. Although I wish I did with the beautiful layouts shared on this thread!

I like stamping on my layouts, but I don't do it as often as I should given the number of stamps in my stash.
I have some huge background stamps that I like to use as a big feature on my layouts. I will also use generic stamps (script, music, dots, etc.) peeking out from behind embellishment clusters. When I am more motivated I like to use small word stamps and add them to my clusters or tabs. I also love the look of bold stamped titles, but I am often too lazy. That's a reminder I should do that more often.

Thanks for your responses &/or participation in the poll. I exclusively incorporate stamping into scrapping, so all my stamps were purchased with the intention of using them on layouts. Whether simply stamping the date or a label to creating a custom background & everything in between, I usually stamp on layouts. I encourage/challenge everyone to stamp on your next layout!

i've purged my clear stamps and have replaced them with the good red rubber ones. i stopped stamping for a while because the clear stamps got all sticky and gross. once i dumped those and got back to the red rubber, i am stamping more again.
