Its time for our August Check In! How is everyone doing? Are you following along in class or just doing your own thing? Since we haven't chatted in a bit, is anything really standing out to you that you've noticed about your word and your journey? How are you? Where are you at with your word?
___________
My life has been a hot mess for the last two weeks and surprisingly, my word has shown up in multiple ways. In case you didn't see on the NSBR, my DS1 attempted suicide ten days ago and thankfully, did not die. He is extremely lucky though that his long term consequences are not going to be any more than things that time will take care of (hopefully).
My word, PEACE, has brought me through these two weeks. Its weird. I am mad as hell at the circumstances of what got my son to the point he was ok dying. But I have had a real peace about things and for the most part, have been mindful of my word and focusing on that. Thats not to say I wasn't a mess for the first couple of days when things were touch and go, but overall, I have been able to center myself and think about my word and remain calm. Normally my anxiety gets off the charts, but again, these last two weeks the anxiety has been a healthy level considering what's going on and I've had no panic attacks.
All that is not saying that things are all good + hunky dory here. I am feeling all the things but I have been able to center myself and refocus my mind + energy.
I haven't looked in the class in two months (!!!!) but I have been reading books that focus around PEACE.
Set Boundaries, Find Peace
Peace is a Practice
Peace with the Psalms
Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World (Just bought this today)
I hope to get back in the classroom soon. Honestly, I haven't done anything creative in a bit -- everything just feels overwhelming when I sit down to create. I am sure its just a season so I am trying to just roll with it.
