If you have tried these, do you find that they run pretty true to size?
I have a doctor appointment next Wednesday but I'm pretty sure I'm dealing with Plantar fasciitis. Actually started having problems a couple of years ago during lockdown walks. Stopped walking, rarely left the house/walked much and it cleared up. Never went to the doctor. I've been back to work a year and I have not had any real issues until now and it's bad. I worked from home on Monday and Tuesday as I have about a 1/4 mile walk from the parking garage at work to the office. Came in today and OUCH! I'm hobbling. I need some shoes fast and want to order on Amazon. I googled and searched here and Vionic has good reviews. I'm just worried about the sizing. I normally wear a nine and am looking at tennis shoes. I can't do flip flops, hate things between my toes.
At home I wear CROCS around the house on our hardwood floor and that helps a lot. I do not want to wear them to work lol.

I think I remember that they come up a little large - but don't take my word for it unless others agree

The brands I've had the most success with for PF have been Mephisto and Vionic. Both brands can be found on Zappos. Either one will give you the support that you need. All of my Vionics have the toe post, but I have a friend who wears their other styles and loves them. As for sizing, they seem to run TTS for me. I'd recommend ordering from Zappos and getting a couple of sizes to try, as returns are free.

I wore then when I was still working as a Surg Tech, and as I recall they were pretty true to size. I used a sturdy sock, so you'll want to account for that, and though it feels counter-intuitive, don't lace a shoe snugly, leave a little bit of play but not so much you'll get blisters. For PF, the best advice I have is to be sure to loosen/massage your calf muscles. Those are always involved with PF (I worked with many a foot doc who wouldn't do a PF surgery w/o doing a gastroc release.) Most folks concentrate on where they feel the pain, but that rarely helps with long-term relief. Get those calves loosey-goosey! I hope you find relief

I had a few different vionics when I had PF - I remember each style running differently- not just for size but for support (how high the arch was). I felt the style I had were either TTS or running a little big. The pairs I had with the higher arch support were lifesavers to me. PF is the worst. Mine has thankfully been cleared for many years. Good luck!

I have several pairs of Vionics. I typically wear an 8.5. If the Vionic style comes in half sizes, I order 8.5. If it only comes in whole sizes I go to an 8.

Most of my shoes now are Vionics as I have fallen arches which misalign my feet and the arch and heel support of Vionics has helped immensely. Even if I don't buy from Vionic itself, I go on their website and read the reviews for the shoes. All of their shoes are not manufactured the same so researching the individual styles is helpful. They also list how the sizing runs in the description of the shoe. I find that between both of those help me decide which size to order and so far I haven't had any issues.

I have PF and I have tried Vionics. They don't work for me. There is not very much cushion on the bottom of the shoe and the support in them seems to be in the wrong place for my arches. I recently tried Orthofeet shoes and found them to be MUCH more comfortable.

I suffered from PF for quite sometime. It would feel like a knife stabbing up my heel. It hurt when I stood up after sitting. It would reduce in pain after I moved a bit, but still painful enough to limit my activity. I first experienced it when I was pregnant. I did the heel stretches recommend by my doctor religiously and took anti-inflammatory. It eventually went away. I was much younger, and stuff seems to heal better when you have less years! It came back a few years ago. Oh man. It just made me miserable. I tried different shoes, and NEVER went barefoot. I was at Walmart and saw these and thought, it's cheap - what could hurt. Cushioned Arch Supports I got relief almost overnight. Seriously! And I am not one to think things like this actually work. I wore the bands 24/7 for about a week, then just started wearing the band on the foot that still had a little pain during the day. I have zero issues now, and have not for a couple years. It was life changing! I don't know if it works for everyone - but I still recommend them to try. I bought some extra on Amazon, and they are super thin and do nothing - but the thicker ones really made a difference for me. Good shoes are still a great idea though!

When my PF flares I find my Birkenstocks most comfortable and Vionics are just OK, but I also second the recommendation to stretch the calf muscles (and also the hamstrings). Deep stretching/yoga for hips and hamstrings works far better for me than any shoe change. It's all connected.

Also, definitely do all the stretches! You want to avoid the cortisone injections in your heel at all costs, trust me. I let my PF get so bad that it took a series of 4 injections over 6 months to knock it out. You do not want to deal with that pain as well!

Love my Vionics for my arthritis, and have 3 pairs, one tennis shoes, one sandals and one dress shoes for work. Love them all and they do run true to size.

I'm an RN that worked in the hospital and had NO idea to do that!! I never went to the doctor for my PF, just handled it with off the rack inserts in my shoes. I did figure out not lacing the shoe snugly. That helped a lot.

I recently tried Orthofeet shoes and found them to be MUCH more comfortable. I found this to be the case for me too. The arch support in Vionics hit me in the wrong place. I found ABEO to be the best fit for my feet and helping to alleviate my PF. I wear many varieties of their shoes and a pair of their flip flops around the house in the summer. I have also found Taos brand shoes work well for me. I have their sport sandals and a pair of slip on wool shoes with cork base that I wear in the winter around the house as many years on from PF, I still can't walk around barefoot. You may need to try several brands to find the right fit for your arches and feet. Maybe try purchasing from Zappos or similar so that you can order a few pairs, try them and easily send back the ones that don't fit.

I have super high arches and also need stabilization - I think that’s why the Birks work best for me. Vionic are fine for times when I’m not actively in pain, though.

I just got two pairs - I went in for these adorable flip flop sandals that had a little bow - for my niece's wedding that is outside.
Then she showed me the beach slip on runners with elastic lacing. LOVE THEM!!
I wore the runners all weekend at a cake show and my feet were doing really well all weekend. No pains at all.
I need more in all the colours ha ha!
ETA - I normally wear a 9 in a shoe - the flip flops are a 9. But the runners are an 8.5

Apparently Google is listening! Less than 20 minutes after my last post there was an ad on CNBC for the Copper Fit Arch Relief Plus. Supposed to be effective for PF and wear it with any shoe or barefoot. 🤦🏼♀️ Lately I have that channel on daily for background noise and have never seen an ad for Copper Fit before.
Anyone ever tried them?

I love Vionics and I get slip on style sandals that have hidden velcro straps - important for me because I am unfortunately between regular and wide width shoes in many brands.

Anyone ever tried them? Yes and they helped quite a bit but didn't fix the problem. I still use them occasionally with my less supportive shoes. But the only shoe that really fixed my PF was my Nike AirZoom Alphafly Next. They are expensive and made for running and the soles won't last if you use them to run on cement, but to be finally free of PF pain has been completely worth it to me. They look like alien feet or something. I wear them to work and when I'm out walking so I've definitely gotten my money's worth. I have 3 pairs, one is strictly for outdoors and the other 2 for work.

I only wear Vionics and love them. Please keep in mind that not all Vionics are made the same and some do not give great support. Read the reviews! You also need to wear them in. Wear them a couple hours each day and ramp up to full time. They run pretty true to size.
One easy exercise I do is put my foot on the steps - just the ball and toes - and hang the heel down. Stay there 10 secs or so. Feel the stretch. Do that about 8-10 times twice a day. I rarely get PF now with that exercise plus the Vionics.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the advice. I'm still not sure what shoes to buy exactly (guess I'll try a few) but you all gave great advice! I had no idea about the stretching. Going to do that in a bit before bed!

I wear Birkenstocks and Vionics for the most part. My PF has been under control for years. Last year it suddenly started hurting and my massage therapist told me to use my Tens machine on it. Oh my gosh, after I used it a few times my PF went away!
You can Google where to place the pads.

Vivonic’s arch doesn’t fit at quite the right place for me. Danskin was a much better choice when I was dealing with pf.
