What is your store like? I was school shopping today and decided to stop at Kohls and see if they had anything worthwhile. I generally only go a couple times a year and it’s been several months since my last visit. Omg it was insane. So many empty racks and the stuff they did have a was a freaking disaster. I honestly felt like I was shopping at a discount store. Stuff was all over the floor, shoes were just piled on shelves, no order at all. I took a pic of a rack that I’ll add that just showcases what the whole store looked and felt like. It honestly feels like they’re getting ready to go out of business. Are they all like this now or is it just my store?

I stopped in the other day to pay my bill and didn't really notice anything like you describe. I did see they now have self service online pickup and that amazed me. I wonder how often people help themselves to a few extra orders?

I dropped off a return a few days ago and everything looked good to me. Nothing out of sorts. Stocked up as far as glancing over but not really stopping to shop.

I haven’t been in my local Kohls in a few months. It was well stocked. I noticed they have a sign up now that there is a Sephora store inside. I may need to go check that out.

Did they just have a big sale? I haven't been in a store in a long time, but did just put in an online order a couple days ago. As usually happens IME, the items I wanted weren't all available locally so I will get them delivered.

Mine looks well stocked. They are working on opening a Sephora inside the store so definitely no going out of business vibe there.

mine looked ok but it was the first time I've been in there in ages so...no real point of comparison.

We were just there this week to look for some black shorts for my DD to have for gym class when school starts. There are 2-3 stores I usually shop and they’re usually all pretty decent, especially the two closest to my house (different suburbs) are pretty nice. The third one is sometimes not as neat but usually pretty well stocked.
If I had to find something to be critical about, it’s that they usually aren’t very well staffed especially in the various departments. If you needed help finding something you would be hard pressed to find anyone working stock, and sometimes the lines for checking out are long.

I wonder how often people help themselves to a few extra orders? Are they not in lockers? My Kohl's looked like that when it was in the throes of remodeling. And their jewelry/accessories department got downsized a lit to make room for the Sephora.

No, it was open shelving. The orders were tied up in bags placed in little marked bins and you put some code in on your phone to find which bin has your item.

They're probably prepping for a Sephora - it took a huge chunk of our Kohl's square footage. The lead up and construction really impacted inventory. Ours is finally open and I'll be interested to see when things settle down. I use mine primarily for Amazon drop offs and had some Kohl's cash from that I was trying to spend and really couldn't find anything to buy. The women's shoes in particular were just decimated.

I don't usually shop at Kohl's because of the higher prices. If something is on sale and there is a good coupon, I might stop in. The stuff I am usually purchasing, can be purchased at Walmart, Target of Amazon, or other stores for much less.
On the rare occasion that I go to Kohl's, it is usually clean and organized. The service/check out counter is really slow, because they usually on have one or two cashiers.

Nope, it’s had that for awhile. Sounds like just crappy management at this location. This store used to be the best out of my 3 options but apparently that’s no longer the case. Glad to hear the company isn’t going out of business.

Ours is a little rearranged to make room for the new Sephora section.

Definitely less jewelry than previous and they have a whole makeup section now.
Other than that, same amount of stuff as previously

I was just there this afternoon and thought that the store looked much messier than normal, with empty shelves, lots of sale racks crammed together, hardly any shoes except for the large area stuffed with boxes of markdowns. I too wondered if they were prepping for the Sephora Department. Also everything was buy one, get one half off, so I only bought a marked down sale tshirt with $5 KohlsCash.

Mine has looked that way for a while. I assume they just don't have the staff to keep up with making it nice like they used to. The JCPenneys in town is the same. And don't walk into either with a preconceived idea of what you'd like to purchase. Just go see what they have available and pick from that. It's bad news. A day of shopping is not even appealing anymore.

Mine looked good when I was there a couple of weeks ago. We were only in the mens department looking for dress pants and sports coat for our teenage grandson. He needed the pants/coat/tie for travel hockey and I didn’t want to pay a fortune since he’s 6’ 1-1/2” and still growing. I had a 30% off coupon so we got a pretty good deal. Mine has the Sephora in it already and they only reopened the dressing rooms a couple of months ago. I hate their dressing rooms because this store’s are always, always a major disaster - even way before the pandemic. There have been times that I’ve ordered on line and just returned what didn’t fit rather than deal with trying things in the store. I shop more at Von Maur now and while it’s pricey, the dressing rooms are really nice.

Kohl’s was in talks to be bought out but no longer are. I don’t know if that has anything to do with anything.

No, mine isn't as you described. Seems same as it always has--well stocked, neat and clean. I don't go to Kohls often, it's probably been a couple of months since I've been in the store nearest to me.

The Kohl's I shop at looks like a Bargain Basement. It is a mess and nothing like it used to be. I mostly shop online there now. Had to return a few things this week and saw no improvement from the last few visits there.

IDK why but I loathe shopping there. Even if its fully stocked and clean, which ours normally is. IDK if its the low ceilings, or the low lighting or what but I find it depressing to shop at. That plus I don't have a Khols card, or Khols cash so I always feel like I'm getting ripped off price wise. That's not what you asked though so I'm just adding this because I feel chatty

Just remembered that I was in my sister’s Maryland Kohls in June. It was a huge mess with stuff shoved in odd places around the store, but they were building the Sephora Department in the center and that evidently disrupted the flow of the entire store. Not sure if it’s back together yet, I’ll have to ask her.

I was in one by me about a month ago looking for Fiestaware. They quit selling it, bummer. Anyway, the store was still put together, I didn't notice anything amiss besides now selling 1 oven mitt for close to $12. Wtheck, give me the other mitt along with it.

Went last week to get 20 and 13 year old sons clothes for a funeral and a wedding. Ours was clean and stocked well, but it’s one of the newly remodeled ones with a Sephora though.

I went last week, and all the departments have been moved around. I guess to accommodate Sephora. I hate it when a store moves things around.

And I, too, love Von Maur, but around here, they don't even exist in the same galaxy. Kohl's is closer to Walmart and Von Maur is closer to God.
