www.redfin.com/OR/Portland/2748-SW-Talbot-Rd-97201/home/26306866It's shockingly cheap for the size and area, and the photos are B&W, so all I can think is how hideous it must look in color (though it has great lines and is a style that's very popular here, and I am sure there will be plenty of interested buyers). I'm baffled by this choice. It's easy to look past finishes if you're a buyer open to a reno, but black and white looks like they're trying to hide something.

It looks like a nice house which has me wondering if the realtor/photographer is hiding something or too artsy for their own good.

Either they are hiding something, or it is a technique in which they are trying to manipulate people to come see the house...both of which I find off-putting, and probably wouldn't waste my time with this house.

I like the house and it looks like it is decorated well - it would look so much better in color! Almost would be tempted to message realtor and ask what is up with the photos.

I dont like the B&W photos at all haha!! I had to go back and look at the pics again-- I see what you mean! I don't like them either. maybe they were trying to be 'artsy' and going for 'crisp / clean / high contrast' but IMO, the black and white pics are doing a huge disservice to the house.

Looks nice and clean but wonder what they are trying to hide. Since it’s an older house I assume the wood is stained a bad outdated color.

The black and white photos are indeed an odd choice. I'm voting that the realtor did it as an artsy choice, but I really don't think it's doing the house or the sellers any favors.

I do think they are trying to be artsy fartsy, but color pics would be a much better choice. I like a lot about the house.

Hmm, definitely odd. I feel like the house is staged. I don't think they are trying to hide something, I think they did it to be different and are hoping it will cause buyers to come see it in real life.

I thought the b/w made all the rooms look very dark and I certainly noticed all the lamps and overhead lights that were turned on. There seems to be a lot of foliage close to the windows, blocking natural light. What's on the other side of the foliage?!

I'm clearly in the minority, but I kind of liked the b&w pics because it helps you focus on the bones of the house and not get distracted by the owner's decorating choices. Having said that, it does raise a red flag since it's so different, and I wouldn't want my real estate agent to list my house that way.
In this case, I'm guessing the rooms are very dark because the house is surrounded by trees and it didn't seem like there were many windows, except in the dining area. The house looked great otherwise.

The pictures make it seem like parts of it are from the 70's (think Brady Bunch). I usually look at what is outside of the windows and for that, I'd go see it.

Looks nice and clean but wonder what they are trying to hide. Since it’s an older house I assume the wood is stained a bad outdated color. That is what I was thinking too, the wood color must be hideous. In house that has so much wood (which I actually love in a pretty color) it seems really odd they are hiding it. Bad paint color is one thing but bad wood color in a house that size without much wood? That could be a nightmare OP please go peek in the.windows and report back!

Looks like a very nice house. I think they were going for the artsy vibe with the B&W pictures. Looking at the exterior pictures though from Google maps, it seems like there might not be a lot of natural light. Lot of trees close to the house, I actually don’t like that. I prefer my trees to be farther away.

In this area, trees surrounding houses are very, very common.

I really like the front door as seen in photo #2.
My guess is the agent thought this would be a dramatic presentation.

It looks like a nice house which has me wondering if the realtor/photographer is hiding something or too artsy for their own good. I think the realtor is going for artsy. Even if the colors are ugly brown, avocado and orange, I think it would show better in color. Unless it is in a very desirable location that's practically unavailable otherwise, I don't think I would bother looking. edited to change green to orange!

Real estate photography is not art. It’s representation of a property. B/W is terrible idea

Those aren't even good B&W photos... I agree with whoever said dingy & grey.
And on the streetview - looks like a bit of mildew/mold. and/or moss?

There is one photo - it looks like maybe a built-in bookshelf - where the edges of the wood look somewhat beat up. I'd like to see color photos to see what condition the wood is in throughout the house.

A lot of rain, and wet wooden shingles will grow moss - especially in a neighborhood with a lot of big trees so that not as much sun hits the roof to dry it out when it isn't raining.

We don't know when the photo was taken though. Even for Oregon that roof is a mess if that is it's current condition. If I have time next weekend I will drive by and see what it really looks like. I do not have time Saturday and on Sunday it is going to be over 100 so I am staying firmly at home.

I’m not a fan of the b/w photos. I would not permit my realtor to market my house like that. I hope it works for the sellers.
