My daughter (age 7) is getting a Wii U for Christmas. What games do your kids enjoy? Do you do many multiplayer games? If so, do you have the controller or just use wiimotes?

My DS loves the Super Mario Bros. for the Wii-U. He just uses the game pad that comes with the Wii-U. When I play with him, I use a regular Wii controller. Does she like to dance? There are the Just Dance games, but I'm not sure if they're Wii or Wii-U. What does she like?

We're getting a Wii U for our family Christmas gift, too. I've already ordered Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart 8. There are also the Super Mario Bros. games that are so much fun. Just look up Wii U games on Amazon and you can see a whole list of fun games that might appeal to your daughter. Regular Wii games also work on the Wii U so don't overlook through that list as well.
Here's our Wish List, it might give you a starting point:
Super Mario Bros. 3D World Super Smash Brothers Brawl Mario Kart 8 Just Dance 4 & 2015 New Super Luigi Super Mario Bros. U Hyrule Warriors Zelda PacMan
Oh! We have Wiimotes for the multiplayer games. Also the Super Smash Bros. Brawl game allows other players to sync into the game with their Nintendo DS. We're planning on having an all out brawl Christmas morning!

I bought her Just Dance 2015, we used my friends Xbox a couple years ago when they were out of town and she loved the dance game, so I figure it will be fun and embarassing for the whole family. I also picked up Wii Sports (so I can beat her at something for a week until she gets better than me) and Mario Kart for the Wii since the games are compatible. I don't really know what she likes, this will be the first time she's played console games besides a couple times at my friends houses (so the games weren't her choosing).

Your DD is a little older than mine, but mine (and my DH!) have had a BLAST playing Super Mario 3D World. They have been playing it for MONTHS. Seriously the best money I've spent on a video game. And when DH thought he hit the end of the game, it turned out that there were still THREE MORE WORLDS to go! DD has become quite good at the game but now that we're in the final levels it's taking all three of us working together to progress. It's been fun. The Super Mario Bros U game is harder, IMHO.
We have several of the Just Dance games for the regular Wii, including the Disney one which is easier for younger kids. We got the Wii SING! Game which came bundled with our console from Costco, and DD knew/knows several of the songs from it so that has been fun too.
DH is getting Super Smash Bros. for Christmas, I'm getting Disney Infinity. Even though I've played all the way through Epic Mickey 2 for the Wii, I kind of want to get the Wii U version to see if it's different/better.
I've read good things about The Wonderful 101 which also came bundled with our console, but DH doesn't want to start another "epic" adventure game until we've played all the way through 3D World.

My family, 4 to 32 years old, like to play Rayman Rabbids, Mario Kart 8, and super Smash Bros. They can all be played on just the gamepad or multiplayer on the tv with some of the gameplay on the pad and the rest with wiimotes.

Without fail, my son always goes back to Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and Mario Party. He has received other games but these are the ones he always goes back to playing. We have Just Dance but that's more for me than him

Mario Cart, Disney Infinity, and Sing It (with microphone) are DD's favorites.
