Hot flashes and night sweats with a fever (COVID).
We made it until this week without getting it, dh had a work event last week where leaders from all over the world spent 3 days together 12-13 hours a day together.
Paxlovid for me (asthma) once pharmacy actually fills the prescription. Anyone have experience with it?

I started Paxlovid Monday morning after testing positive for Covid (damn it). I have no idea where I contracted it.
It's 2 pink pills and 1 white pill 2x daily for 5 days. Be aware the white pill tastes terrible. Get it down quickly! You will also get a weird metallic taste in your mouth. It's almost like bile. I keep mints and water handy.
I also have mild diahrrea. One Immodium helped with that.
My case is pretty mild. I do think the antiviral meds kicked in quickly. I felt better after just 24 hours. Today is 48 hours on them and I'm nearly 100%.
My weird symptom was chills, but no fever. My initial symptom on Saturday afternoon was a sore throat. I tested negative Sunday, positive Monday.
I hope you improve quickly!

Hot flashes and anything extra is a special kind of hell. Hope you get thru your illness with as little disruption as possible.

My DH and I took Paxlovid back in April when we had COVID. Three pills two times a day for 5 days. You will get a nasty metallic taste in your mouth. Keep lemon drops or mints around to counteract it. my DH said that it tasted like he was sucking on an old penny. I asked him how he knew what that tasted like. LOL

I tolerated Paxlovid really well and had a very mild case of Covid. The downside was that I got Paxlovid rebound and had to do a second quarantine so be aware of that possibility.

We took Paxlovid when we got covid after our Disney trip this summer. We had avoided it, too. I felt *so* much better after 3 doses, which was a day and a half after starting it. Noticeable improvement and could finally sleep. Taste is bad, but if I ate or drank something or chewed gum, it was fine. Good luck!

And I thought hot flashes & night sweats while having period cramps was bad (seriously, all at the same time one night a couple of years ago). No experience with Paxlovid for me personally, but I hope you are feeling better soon.

I had covid at the end of a May and took Paxlovid. I’m not sure if it was covid or the Paxlovid that caused a constant migraine level headache and nausea. As others said, watch out for the metallic taste. I was constantly sucking on mints, root beer barrels and the old fashioned stick candy. Hope you feel better soon!

I took Paxlovid end of June for Covid. It helped my Covid symptoms but had an awful taste and caused terrible diahrrea for me.

I feel for you. I've gone thru menopause hot flashes, can't imagine having a covid fever on top of it. I hope you feel better soon.
