I’m trying to get suggestions for the best white cardstock for die cutting. I notice that when I’m taping down dies the tape frequently pulls a layer of cardstock off when I remove it. I use the Spellbinders best ever craft tape and I condition it on the back of my hand to remove some of the stickiness beforehand but sometimes it still tears the paper. I thought it was the tape but now I’m wondering if it’s the cardstock. What have a others found that works well? Thanks😊

I use a wide variety of paper. But I use scotch removable tape for taping things down. It rarely, if ever, tears the paper. And I can use a piece multiple times before it tears and is no longer usable.

I like Neenah 110lb Classic Crest and use the Easy See tape most often for taping down dies. CardstockEasy See Tape

I use the Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White (item 04701), or the one cmpeter mentioned (item 04456) For tape, I actually 3M Post-it tape. I love this stuff. I use the 2", 1" and 1/3" sizes.

CardstockEasy See TapeI too use Neenah 110#, and I also keep 80# around as well. cmpeter, thanks for the link to the tape. There are so many instances I've wished I didn't need to place the regular opaque tape "just so." Do you find any color in particular to be easier to see through?

I use washi tape that I no longer like the design. It can be reused several times.

I’ve used the pink and purple tape. I haven’t noticed a difference between those two.

I'd try changing your tape first before calling it a cardstock problem. While some papers do really hate having tape on them, usually it's a case of the tape being too aggressive. I like washi tape, the cheap variety. It doesn't hold up for a lot of repeated uses but it isn't sticky enough to tear up the paper either.

I too use Neenah #110 or #80. My favorite things has #100 card stock that is very sturdy and comes in a variety of colors. I usually make colored backgrounds with Distress Inks and then die cut out. I use that colored clear tape that can be removed without tearing your paper and you can reuse it as well.
