Good morning, tribe! scrapmaven had a very early appointment and asked me to start the thread. sueg is currently on her way to Australia to visit her two precious grandbabies. We wish her safe travels and a wonderful visit! I think we're having Chinese Chicken Salad that I didn't make the other day. These hot days are starting to wear on me and I'm running out of options that don't use the oven! What's on your menu?

Good morning and have a terrific Thursday everyone! I am putting a beef roast in the oven to slow cook along with potatoes and carrots then fixing some garlic and herb noodles.

It’s finally cooled off a little bit here. I think we will have a cabbage roll casserole— I just layer the cabbage roll ingredients instas of making rolls.

I hope your pain goes away christine58. I'm busy, busy at work. Are you tired of me saying that yet? Lol! No but seriously I think it has been really good for me to be so busy. I'm working hard and it feels good to accomplish things. So I'll take it. I'm going to try to talk Jeremy into Chinese food tonight. It just sounds good to me.

We are going to have meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and a TBD vegetable. I took today off just because and am going to use it by splitting the day into errands/chores to get it out of the way for the weekend and then fun stuff.

Tonight is honey mustard chicken, green beans, roasted baby potatoes, and garden salad.
Dd has a procedure tomorrow so I'd appreciate any good thoughts/prayers for a smooth day, pain free day.
Oh and I can now add strawberries, wheat, cocoa bean to my allergy list. Eggs and milk came back with no welt but lots of redness so blood work has been ordered.

I have my students doing that writing assignment again ... another long day of grade 7! I have a showing booked again today ... ex is out of town but can do anything from his computer ... Dinner tonight will probably be takeout dumplings from my fav Chinese place ... I don't feel like cooking! I am so freaking tired! I haven't worked since the beginning of May so this week has been tough ... hence, my time right now on the computer.

leannec be gentle with yourself. Just as it takes kids a few weeks to acclimate back to school, it takes teachers time too. Rest when you can! ❤️

Waiting on the technician to get here and finish setting up the new sound system. Nothing like new technology to make you feel really dumb. I can't figure out how to turn on the combination. It's either music or tv. I hope this guy is willing to be on call for a good while post installation to answer questions!
Today will be a quilting day. Going to see how many of the 30 blocks I can finish. Also found a new scrap quilt I want to try so will be sorting out my strips of scrap fabric to work on next.
No clue what dinner will be. May run down to the bakery at the end of the street and get a salad. They have a good Chicken Asian salad.

Just came home from a major grocery shop. I am buying in advance of feeding the young adults on Sunday, as there are some really good sales and I have a BIG freezer.
I was going to can my own tomatoes but when I can get a large can of tomato sauce with all the garlic & herbs (Hunts brand) for $1.00, it isn't cheaper to can my own.
Chicken legs for $1.99/lb and PC lasagna/mac & cheese for 5.99. So glad that I have storage space.
I picked up a cesear salad for lunch and probably going out for dinner.

socked in fog this morning. I love it. taking dog to be clipped today. my sort of clean basement has exploded again with dh home and pulling out all his stuff for burning man.
I am going to pull out my backpacking stuff today while dh is gone. I also need to make a batch of oatmeal cookies to take to my sister.
Dinner.. either leftovers or something chicken. I think that will be a new dish.. something chicken. it is only getting to 65 today so I can cook anything.. no heat.

Hi Everyone, cadoodlebug Thank you so much for starting the thread. Chinese chicken salad sounds good. Your meme cracks me up. scrapmaven I hope that your appointment goes well today. sueg Safe travels. christine58 That feeling I think is the incision healing on the inside. I know that it can be annoying. sabrinae cabbage roll casserole sounds really good. jeremysgirl I am so glad that you are so busy at work. I hope you really like your new position. paget Your dinner sounds delicious. That’s a family favorite meal. (Not lucyg though. ) leannec I hope that you get an offer soon. **GypsyGirl** The technology stuff is always changing; so it’s hard to keep up with it. quiltz You really got some great deals at the grocery store. The kids are so lucky to have you to cook for them. ntsf I love oatmeal cookies. I seem to make a lot of something chicken. Today I am having ODS and DH hang some pictures in the master bedroom. I also want to hang new curtains; but I am missing a finial end cap. When I looked at new finials on Amazon; they cost almost the same as new curtain rods. I also looked online at other stores and it was the same. I can’t justify the cost. Any ideas? I have Bible study tonight, so I am having dinner out. So for the boys, it’s fend for yourself. I hope all of you have a peaceful day.

On another conference call. Some days I feel like that is all I do.
Dinner will be hamburgers on the grill. Sides are undecided. Depends on if I make it to the grocery store or not.
Planning on going to a local park after dinner and walking. I've been trying to switch up where I walk. I get bored just walking along our county road.

Good morning friends. Tonight I am actually going to have to cook something because dh is coming home!! It's either going to be burgers or Mississippi chicken. we will see. Yesterday I got a flat tire and thankfully my oldest son came to his mama's rescue. I know how to change a tire in theory but have never actually done it. Kaitlyn is still in the process of moving her stuff to her new place. In the meantime the entire upstairs of my house looks like it's been ransacked!!! I guess it has to get worse before it can get better. ntsf I grew up in the Bay Area and in the winter we would get fog. I loved walking to school in the fog (even though my 80's hot curlered hair did not) Now that I live in Alaska we don't get fog all that often but when we do I absolutely LOVE it!!

Now when I ask for instructions on how to do something I just whip out my phone and video record them, that way I can always look it up if I forget. Hope everyone is well <3 Last night I made Fettucine Alfredo (jarred sauce doctored up) with chicken breasts. I got a new Vitamix so I've been so busy making smoothies and playing with it that too. Tonight's dinner is Trader Joe's stuff. I bought some tamales (I already scanned on my WW app so I know how to work in the points lol) and their new Salsa de Cacahuate (hot sauce with peanuts. Sounds weird but I love the stuff that's home made so I'm gonna try out TJ's version). And probably a small lettuce/tomato/cuke/roasted corn salad on the side. Kinda carby but that's what sounds good to me right now.

Thank you, cadoodlebug for starting the thread today. I was up and out very early. I used to be able to change a tire, but I don't think I could do it anymore. That's OK, because I just got 4 new ones this week. My drive this am was so smooth. The Birdhouse Lady, we're in the same boat. Ods has been bringing some stuff to his new apartment, but the big move is on Sunday. My house looks like someone lit dynamite and ran. I'd love to say that it'll be immaculate on Monday, but yds is in btwn apartments, since he's getting his PhD at a different school. So, he will be staying w/us and bringing a bunch of his stuff home on Monday. I know that you're very proud of Kait as I am of my two boys, but yeesh. This afternoon will be dedicated to rest. I am DONE for the day. Ods said that he'll bring dinner home. I'm off the hook. On a completely separate note, has anyone eaten Krispy Krunchy Chicken? Around here it's at gas stations, but it's supposed to be very good. A friend of yds's used to bring us the biscuits. I would be curious to hear reviews. christine58, the surgeon re-arranged the furniture. You might have little aches or pulling sensations. If it is concerning call the surgeon, but it's probably normal recovery stuff.

I know exactly what it did it. The dog pulled me and it’s better today but we’ll see what tomorrow brings I can always message the surgeons office. The incisions are all healing this one is just terribly sore.

I just whip out my phone and video record them, Normally I do that as well. However, this time it was learning to use new apps on my phone! It seems everything has an app these days. ntsf I grew up in the Bay Area and in the winter we would get fog. I loved walking to school in the fog (even though my 80's hot curlered hair did not) Now that I live in Alaska we don't get fog all that often but when we do I absolutely LOVE it!! We lived in the Bay Area in the mid 80s and I always loved the fog as well! I worked in Embarcadero 3 and some of the office windows overlooked the Golden Gate Bridge. Such a cool sight to see the fog rolling in at the bridge!

Just checking in from Dubai airport. I had an early start this morning to get to Frankfurt for my flight and am very tired now, but need to stay awake at least two more hours until my next flight takes off. Dinner was a quite nice chicken in mushroom cream sauce, served over pasta with a chocolate brownie with salt caramel sauce for dessert. I am now enjoying a preflight limoncello spritzer in a bar near my gate while I wait.

reporting from sf fog.. I live on sw side of the city.. the foggy side. so it comes off the ocean and goes up the main street down in the valley just below me. it pulled back a bit for this afternoon..
in the old days, I worked just under the south end of the golden gate bridge. i was a park ranger. I watched the fog over and under that bridge for many days.. it was the coldest place in Sf. I love the bridge.. and have half dozen rivets that fell around us during a construction project on the bridge.
I also spent 9 weeks one summer and 3 weeks another summer at fire lookouts in the cascade in WA state. there were weeks I just sat in the clouds.. and never saw the mountains around me. so I am not a hot weather person.

Having some incision pain over the last couple days. It’s better but annoying. LOL I quoted before going through the whole thread, but I bet you are correct about the pup pulling you pulled on something still healing. I can't remember how far post-op you are, but know my doctor told me no sit-ups up four weeks. It's been almost three years and I still haven't done a sit-up just in case. We are going to have meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and a TBD vegetable. TBD?! It's always green beans with meatloaf and mashed potatoes! Maybe DS will let me get away with Brussel sprouts, but he won't be happy. My dad taught me many decades ago but I've heard they tighten the lug nuts too hard for my upper body strength these days! I blew a tire in paget 's neck of the woods 23 years ago (with a toddler and infant along for the ride), had no choice but to change it and will be forever thankful that a very kind man stopped to help with the lug nuts. There was no way I would have loosened them and I was doing the full weight jump on the wrench. Glad your DS was able to rescue you, The Birdhouse Lady . their new Salsa de Cacahuate (hot sauce with peanuts. Sounds weird but I love the stuff that's home made so I'm gonna try out TJ's version) Is this a fresh deli thing or with the jarred salsas? My peanut loving, hot sauce loving DH could be very interested. I stopped for tarragon after my walk this morning and the store was roasting fresh Hatch chiles!! So I came home with a bunch of fresh chiles along with sushi and ahi poke. The sushi/poke completely distracted me from my planned meal and I'm rethinking the next couple days because of the fresh chiles.

I'm huddling in the basement. BF and the handyman are pulling up carpet, tack strips, etc. I hear a lot of sweeping. I'll be glad to have this project done.
Going to the fair tonight with girlfriends, so I'll probably have curly fries for dinner!
