I'm sure some people think that about me... I try to park in the same spot at work everday. I like the spot because it means I can see my vehicle from my office. ^^^ good point. I also try to park in the same general spot or the same row when I'm at a store because otherwise I will NOT remember where I parked. I just don't pay that much attention, I guess- the 'routine' of the certain row/spot is too ingrained no matter how many other cars there are.

I’m the annoying person who drives big ass trucks that I park in the middle of a empty parking lot backed in. Almost every time I come back out the lot is still empty but there will be one vehicle parked by me. A lot of times it’s another fancy ass truck trying to show off!!
I try to be as considerate as I possibly can driving a big vehicle knowing others cannot see around it to pull out of their parking spots. I also do this because I love my trucks and have spent a lot of money on them and don’t like door dings.
The older I get the more I realize that people are just weird.

I think my car calls up “playmates” when I park her. No matter how vacant the lot when I park, there’s ALWAYS a car beside her when I return.😃😃😃 I can park in an empty area, away from the store, and come back and find a car next to me. Usually a F-150 too. I joke that I am the truck magnet. Sometimes I don’t care and will park next to a truck because I know they’ll find me anyways. 😂 I am so glad my car has a backup camera! I'm the F-150!!! haha.. I HATE parking that damn thing. hate hate hate it. It's an extended bed as well.. parking lots are my nemesis. I usually always park where there are a few empty spots so I can wrangle the beast in. Otherwise I look like I have never driven before when I have to park in a spot that is met for a Smart car. Gwad I hate our truck.

Ya'll do A LOT of thinking about parking a car. I see a spot, it's good and big enough, I park. Get out and walk in the store, come back out, walk back to vehicle and drive away. (I am aware of my surroundings and pay attention but I don't "think" or wait or anything)

Maybe it’s a pack thing, left over from our Neanderthal DNA? Gotta stick with the pack? We were in an empty movie theater once. Completely empty. The film was about to begin, and there was no crowd waiting. 2pm in the afternoon. A group of four came in, wandered down the aisle, and sat RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. The entire huge theater was empty, and I get this big fat head right in front of me. We moved back a couple of rows, but it was just so weird, and IMHO, rude. I can beat that. I don’t go to movies in movie theaters anymore, but one of the last times I did I had the most bizarre experience ever. It was a 10 am showing. I was literally the only person in the theater. I was waiting for a friend. There were no assigned seats and I was not sitting in handicapped seating or any other special seat. An older man and woman came into the theater, walked right up to me and asked me to move! Wtf? I said no. So they asked if I could move my purse. I said no, my friend is coming and I’m saving her a seat. They stood there talking and fretting and wondering what they should do and finally sat down next to my purse while giving me dagger eyes death stares. My friend walked in, made a funny face, and loudly asked why I would sit next to people in an empty theater. I loudly answered back that I was there first. Wow. That is nuts.

Some people have difficulty parking in the square if they don't have cars on the sides to help them line up.

Ya'll do A LOT of thinking about parking a car. I see a spot, it's good and big enough, I park. Agreed! Similar to the movie theatre thing, we were on holiday, virtually alone on a vast empty beach just sitting enjoying the ocean and a family came and sat 3 feet away from us Needless to say we moved.

If it were we I would have looked to see if any numbers on her car meant anything to me, thinking maybe we were meant to meet. But probably at first I would get frustrated that someone decided to park next to me when they could choose practically any other spot.

I purposely park far away with open spots on either side so if one person decides to park next to me, hopefully one side stays open so I can open my door wide enough to get my toddler into his car seat. Even better if I can find a spot at the very end of the line so there’s at least one open side. Good point. I had a difficult situation once when I parked in the main portion of a movie theater lot. (At the movies I didn't like to park in the way far away corner, because unlike a store, I didn't have the option to throw a kid or two into a cart. So I had to keep all 4 kids with me and safe in a hectic lot. That's why I used to park closer there.) Anyway, someone parked so close to my side of the car that it was impossible to enter the car on that side---for anyone. I had 4 kids with me--I think the oldest might have been a tween--and not one of us could squeeze into the car on the driver's side. I had to get all of the kids into the car via the passenger side, and then I had to slide across the front seat, up & over the center console/parking brake/gear shift. And then it was stressful backing my car out of the spot with someone so darn close to me. After that I always parked with my side near a curb at the movies. Even now, when all of the kids I go places with are well old enough to navigate a parking lot on their own.

You are at least making an effort to consider other people. There are a ton of people with big ass trucks here that don’t fit in a single parking space — some of them stick out into the aisle by a foot. Any of those people park right in the most crowded areas of the parking lot and just leave their trucks sticking out by a foot or more. It makes it hard to even drive through the aisle. It posses me off every time. If your going to drive a truck so big it doesn’t fit into a regular parking spot go park I. The outer reaches of the parking lot where you can take up two spaces and not cause issues for every other driver. ITs so tempting to hit them. I have a big crack on my front fender of my new van and I’m pretty sure it’s from someone trying to back into a parking spot with their too big truck and hitting me with their hitch.

I'm all about not getting a door ding. Also, it's much easier to park away from a busy row of cars. When I need it, I use my placard and park in a disabled space, but only when I truly need to do so.

I will sometimes park next to a car rather than an open space, especially if they are parked neatly, lots of space for my giant car next to them, and lots of room to open my giant door and room to get my giant butt out 😀 inevitably if I choose an empty space I will come out to find someone parked too close and I hate that shimmy of trying to get in without hitting the car next to you.

It’s all about being respectful and that doesn’t take much.

Since my surgery I try to park away from others because I need to swing my door wide open to get my new knee in and out. Without fail, someone always comes and parks right close to me. PT and the chiropractor have small lots so there aren’t a lot of spaces or choices. I started backing into the last spot at PT so no one can park near my door. It works but on the days I have the torturess (the PTA always makes me cry with her shenanigans involving my PT, so I call her this) the walk to my car is long and difficult.
I admit that if I see a car similar to mine, I park near it. Probably drives the other people crazy but my car likes to be near her buds.
