Good morning.
Today really is 8/22. This was for those who noticed my mistake last week. This morning I have a dentist appt. I hate the dentist, but I love my teeth. So, it's a compromise. Then it's home to rest all day long. I'm very tired. Though I will cook for dh. Meal TBD. Yds was coming in, but is delayed a day or so.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today? What is your plan for the day or evening?
Wishing everyone a happy, easy, breezy week ahead.

I have a chiropractic appointment this morning then I'll hit Raley's. I might grill hamburgers. I am now in *get-ready-for-Croatia* gear. It's 26 days away so I need to do a little each day plus continue to organize for my 4-day crop the week after we return.

Good job on getting the date right, scrapmaven. In keeping with today’s apparent theme, I am getting ready to go to my local group’s 4-day crafting weekend. And will be all week. And was last week, too. And still won’t be ready to go when Thursday rolls around. Dinner will be the cheeseburgers I said I was going to make on Thursday. Assuming the buns are still good. Also potato salad (store bought, but I will doctor up).

I would like to nominate our wonderful lucyg for smarta$$ of the year! Seriously, we do have a great theme today. I hope that more people have something to look fwd to. lucy, when you go to local crops are you able to shop? When I used to go to crops(only one day crops) I did more shopping than scrapping. Have a great 4 day crop.

Happy Monday dinner friends! **GypsyGirl** I'm going to look over the class schedule for the Quilt Festival today. I'm attending myself this year and already have a hotel room reserved at the Hilton. Staying with my friend was too confining and this year they plan to go on Saturday at the friends house we stay at is super busy work wise at the start of the month, I just can't in good conscious stay with her while she is so busy. This will also make it easier to meet up with you this year. :-) DH has flown and owned several planes, single engine and turbo prop. His latest hobby is building and racing RV planes. This new purchase is a partially built airplane he will finish and race. It looks like we will leave this weekend to pick it up. It was a good weekend and a busy week ahead, Dinner is going to be Mahi Mahi and veggies, maybe a grain of some sort as well. Wishing everyone a great day!

austnscrapaddict it is so cool that your dh is a pilot. Dh and I used to want to get our private pilot's licenses when we were younger. Have you ever flown one of his planes?

hate the dentist, but I love my teeth. So, it's a compromise. True for most of us I think. I like our dentist and feel a little bad about how much I hate going. I just looked at the calendar and realized my first crafting retreat since Jan 2020 is exactly one month away. I follow the lucyg preparation plan and feel happy that both my room is booked and the carpooling plan is in place and won't really think about anything else until the day before. I am seeing my CASA kids today for a little treat before they head back to school and will have to make Korean tacos for dinner. Have to because they've been on the menu board for a week and DS has been patiently waiting. The plan is to make a ground meat version for him, lentils for me and DH will happily eat both. In fairness, DS would eat the lentils but MUCH prefers the meat version.

scrapmaven I've flown in his planes, but never flown one, I've considered getting my license, but one pilot in the house is expensive enough. :-) I do know enough to land if I had to.

I am mostly ready, but it has been added fun to have him getting ready for burning man..he leaves thursday.. and me leaving tuesday. and we are leaving the dog with our kid.. and have arranged a dog walker every day.. so as usual, it is juggling a bunch of balls!! my adult child with autism is anxious and a dog with cooking dinner and school starting this week--is a bit nervous. but my son is in the same town.
off to the heat of Seattle!! when I come back, I have to bring 15 boxes left over from my dad's house to cram into my car.

I'm planning on tacos as DS will be home, I think. If not I'll refrigerate or freeze what I don't eat. Damn bee/hornet/wasp just got me when I went to open the mailbox. I don't react well so swelling and queasy but mostly annoyed. I had plans to "het sh!t done" (really!) today now I can't even bend my finger. Whining done. Will get back at it soon. Have a great week all. And trips/crafty weekends. lucyg ntsf Just a tad (big tad) jealous.😜

The day/night at the Waterpark hotel went great with dgd. We also went to the Falls and saw the colours on them. Left before the fireworks. I am pooped.
Went out for lunch at Olive Garden and have leftovers for dinner. Did some shopping at Aldi's while in the States. So nice to go for just a couple of hours & also got gas at the Reservation ~ $3.74 (with cash discount). Filled up my car for $58.00, approx 15+/- US gallons. $1.64/ litre in Canada.
Pampered myself with a facial, mani & pedi today.
We finally got a good soaking of rain today, what the crops need and everything looks fresh & green again.

I am so jealous of those of you that are attending crops. I miss going to crops.
This is going to be a busy week I have a lot to do before we leave for a short trip on Saturday.
DH picked up the granddaughters after school. I just got home and the are having a great time with the grandsons.
Dinner is going to be BLT sandwiches since so many people are here.

I made a sheet pan meal and it’s in the oven. Chicken stuffed Meatloaf, potatoes and broccoli. The chicken meatloaf has Italian cheeses in the middle and tomato sauce on top.

Took my mom to a funeral this morning. It's not wrong to say it was enjoyable, when we saw lots of old friends from church, and the celebration of life was for a woman who was 99, right?
Anyway, I am trying to do some laundry now. It's week 3 of the remodel. We're having salad and cheeseburgers and chips tonight. We're not doing much cooking, but we do have to make pickles tonight.

Saw MIL today and she’s hanging in there. She doesn’t want to eat so I’m not sure how long she can go without sustenance. We spent a few hours the last couple of days at her apartment cleaning out drawers and getting rid of stuff. We took 14 garbage bags full of clothes to Goodwill. She’s a bit of a pack rat.
I didn’t post yesterday but I wanted to answer the tattoo question. I have 2 - a sun on my ankle and a heart on my wrist. The heart bumps are my 2 sons thumbprints.
Supper tonight was leftovers.

Good Morning again. I slept a bit later today, as I didn't have to get up early for toddler gymnastics like yesterday. I had a lovely day with DS's family - mostly Sophia! We went to toddler gym, where I was pointed out to all the instructors - 'My Oma is here. Look, she is in the watching room' - and I got to go out to the floor for 'free choice' time. After lunch, the two of us walked to the park and played for a while, then we went to the library - right next to the park - until DS came to pick us up. The library had been our back up plan, as rain was threatening. We got lucky - I think we'd barely been home for 20 minutes when the heavens opened and the deluge started!
Dinner was meat pies with fries and vegetables. After dinner, I helped with bathtime for both the kids, then came back to my sister's when they went to bed. It was my nephew's 25th birthday yesterday, so I had cake with them.
Today I think I am going to go shopping. I don't NEED anything, but I love to wander the shopping centers here and see how much has changed/stayed the same.

sueg, that is such a delightful way to spend the day. Little Sophia is so proud of her Oma. It's very cute. Montannie, at 99 a celebration of life is absolutely accurate. Nice that you and your mom were able to see old friends. I think it's a bittersweet occasion. At 99 she must have had so many stories to tell.

scrapmaven, I go to crops all over NorCal, but many of them, including this one, are at the “local” LSS (about 40 min away, on the way to Sacramento from where I live), so then there’s shopping. Some of them are at hotels, but the organizer used to be an LSS owner and brings supplies and new lines to check out. Others I’ve been to are run by Creative Memories or CTMH consultants, so usually, there’s SOME kind of shopping to be had. I guess we’re making up for lost time during COVID at this point. Seems like there’s a weekend crop every month or two among my group. Not everyone goes, but I’m pretty much one of the regulars.

I’m not even sure there’s a LSS here anymore. My friends do a crop only once a year now. This year it coincides with my Italy trip so I’m missing. It really has evolved into a crafting retreat because hardly anyone scrap anymore. More info out on the brothers who were shooting this weekend. They had over 1000 guns and 140,000 rounds of ammunition. They weren’t even allowed to own guns. Wonder how they got them? We had fish tacos. sueg sounds like a nice trip
