This is super tempting. I am a terrible stamper and often forget I even have stamps to use. Maybe this would help me remember to pull them out once in a while.
I also adore Shimelle but agree her classes can end up wonky with her flaking out, especially as it gets closer to the end. I know she works hard to keep class prices low, and JYC is a heck of a deal (too good really), so it doesn't bother me too much, I just know I have to lower my expectations. I have wondered if she charged more, if she would feel a bigger commitment to her classes/content but she also seems very comfortable with the way she does things and I guess good for her so many of us don't seem to mind all that much.

Ack! I signed up and then realized that my PayPal email is different from what I used when I first started taking classes. Hoping that doesn't mess things up when giving me access to the class. That happened with me too. I just sent her an email telling her my forum email and she was able to correct everything. My paypal is different than my normal email so I sent her an email and she straightened it all up.

I love Shimelle, she is the only creator that inspires me to pull things out and start making. Most everyone else I follow just makes me want to shop lol.
I have started a background from this class and already have ideas for more just from the first video. I hope (fingers crossed) that maybe she is trying her hand at having videos ready to go before the class is offered for sale.

I just saw this and jumped over to sign up. I like that the videos will all be ready so if I am on a roll I can go through them all at once. I have tons of stamps and hardly ever use them, so maybe this will get me to pull them out of the cupboard.
Will come back here later to see what everyone has already made.

I hope (fingers crossed) that maybe she is trying her hand at having videos ready to go before the class is offered for sale. She's mentioned recently that she will change her class model slightly going forward, with a lower introductory price during the "live" run of the class, then the price will go up for the self paced version once all the content is available. My understanding of this is those who are paying the lower price do so knowing there will likely be delays.

It’s human nature to believe that we’ll have more time in the future, so it’s easy to overpromise, but I think she’s realizing that as WB gets older she’s probably going to get busier taking him to classes and things. I do wish she’d communicate about the reschedules/pauses a little more reliably though. Keeping the prices low and breaking things into smaller chunks, and offering a “live” vs self paced/finished version, seem like good ideas for her business.

I watched the first video last night and gave it a try this morning. I'm not much of a stamper -especially not on layouts ...stamping for me is mostly sentiments on cards in black ink. So not only did I get to use stamps I haven't used before, I also got to pull out my (only) set of coloured ink cubes. They aren't colours I generally use - I bought them when I was working on a Hawaii album and needed tropical colours...and haven't used since. I'm not thrilled with my layout although it's not the stamping I'm unhappy with surprisingly.

Signed up yesterday evening, but as yet have no access to the class on the forum. Is there another way to log in? Or do I just wait until she admits me? Have no time this weekend to play with stamps anyway, but was just wondering how long it took to get access to the classes?

I signed up this morning and didn’t realize you couldn’t immediately access the videos. I was hoping to watch them today. I’ve never taken any of her classes before but thought $5 was a good deal for the 4 videos.

She explained at one point that keeping sign ups manual is necessary for a back end reason (I think it had to do with business classification/costs/taxes?) so adding each person manually keeps costs way down, but it might take a day or two to be added to the class.

Love that background Linda! It's a beautiful tropical layout. It took 24 hours for me to get access to the videos. Never got an email - it just appeared in my list of classes on her site.

The pages you guys are sharing are so fantastic! You all have inspired me to try some stamping soon. I'll be honest, I haven't seen any content or posts from Shimelle on Facebook in so long I sort of thought she was done scrapbooking and classes. There used to be posts of other crafters, she'd do Friday lives, etc. Then all of a sudden she was just gone. I rarely go on Youtube or Instagram so it was one of those out of sight, out of mind things for me. I'm glad to hear she's still making content. I have never taken one of her paid classes (I bought one years ago and never logged in and now I have no idea what the class even was ) so I didn't know she was notorious for having business issues. That's a huge bummer.

I just watched Sara Scrap’s video using her stamped background from Shimelle’s class. It was a really pretty background. Watching that video and reading the comments here convinced me to join in. There are quite a few unused stamp sets in my stash. Thanks for all of the feedback on the class!

Here's my stamped background. I like the background, but the ink and I were not getting along very well by the time I was finished lol. This is definitely busy and out of my comfort zone. Next time I'll use a stamp set that has larger stamps. It got tedious lol. My Crew by Joyfulnana, on Flickr

joyfulnana I love your layout! I don't think it is too busy-the sentiments capture the feelings perfectly and the classy and geometric matting makes sure you look right at the photo. linda, I love to soft colors and tropical vibe of your page, along with the LO too! I also like how you did a bit of embellishing at the top, to pull the colors up there. Great idea! Here is my 3rd LO inspired by the 3rd stamping video, the tone on tone quadrants. I think I might have made my tones a little dark, the brown is a bit muddy, but overall I like it. It lends itself well to one photo, so since I only had the one pics of the hostas, that was it! 1AA18BA9-34A8-4271-98EA-27778B87CE40 by K Mage, on Flickr

Great pages, everyone! If Shimelle doesn't admit me before I have time to play, I might just lift one of YOUR pages! So many different ways to approach this....

I am in LOVE with those National Park tags kmage! The page is gorgeous--I really like how it turned out. Oh me too!!! Love love love those national park tags! I wish I had that stamp. I’m going to try and recreate that type of idea with another theme of stamps, though. Such great pages everyone- loving all the ideas!

Woke up this morning and checked Shimelle's site and I had access to this class! Watched the video. Spent a bit of time going through my stamps. I need to settle on a theme for this page. Have not found that perfect one set that has it all for any of the pages I was thinking of using this technique for. Still may be able to cobble together stamps from several different sets for a different LO. Still considering all my options.
Will think more on this while I get my fridge cleaned out and some zucchini grated and into something bakable...

I registered on Thursday and still haven't received anything from Shimelle granting me access. Would I access the class at the same place I access my December class with her? ETA: Never mind, the answer is yes. It is posted there!

I never get any emails from Shimelle for registered classes. I go to her forum (shimelle.com/forum/) and the class shows up after a day or two. She's mentioned previously about her emails getting stuck in spam filters, so I don't both waiting for an email anymore. I also signed up for this, but I don't anticipate doing it any time soon. I haven't started the rainbow class and never finished the half and half class. I will eventually.
